My nephew put aside his whole life, his career and his home to move across the street from his grandparents and now he cares for them full time. My mom is 102, daddy is 99. They can live together in their home only because my nephew is a remarkably compassionate man. My brother, a single dad, raised my nephew well.

I have always figured you learn to live your life by doing it. Very few rules at my house; don't show up in the maternity ward, jail or the morgue. 3 of my kids flourished, 1 decided if i had "no" rules, I must not care about her. Crazy kid.

By the age of 20 I had no parents. But I already knew how to do everything and I just carried on. I don't know what modern kids would do if they couldn't get their moms on the phone every single moment of every single day. Our parents spanked us and belittled us and drove us crazy - and we couldn't wait to leave home. Perhaps, as they say now, "driving us crazy was a feature not a glitch."

It’s true what he says. When kids get to college they can’t do a damn thing because their parents already did it for them. I don’t have any kids and that’s just fine. Of course I’m a gay male and life has worked out great for me. Thank God!!

20 years ago, I was SHOCKED at how infantile college dorms were, everyone acting like they were in middle school covering their dorm rooms with glitter and stuffed animals.
How they got into college is anyones guess, but Daddy’s money probably helped.
Their stupidity is obvious now by the state of this country. Pathetic.
