Great review. I dropped all those media years ago. I have been smoking pipes since 1980 and my favorites are the Missouri cobs. I have 8 and use them everyday. Sometimes less is more. Cheers
I’m enjoying my diplomat fifth Avenue cob as I watch this, I’ve been smoking my cobs pretty much exclusively lately. I know that blend well. I like the Danish bits but I’ve pondered a forever stem. I’ve been using charcoal filters… I need to try the balsa filters. I’m more of a Virginia burley smoker but I don’t discriminate. 😂 I’m starting to taste wood… I enjoyed the video. 💨💨
Indeed, it is a wonderful pipe. I put a snip of vinyl tubing from the hardware store on my Legend stems. Add’s years to them. Cheers from the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Hello John, Thank you for the reflections. I can understand wanting to purge from social media. Happy you have stayed with YT. I too enjoy Gawith Hogarth . Something tried and true about them and their blends. Be Well😊

Hiyas John, It's nice to have you back in the YTPC. My one lone social media outlet is my YT channel. My 2 favorite tobacco manufacturers are Gawith Hoggarth and Rattray's (Kopp). I'd be well satisfied with only those 2 blenders. Cheers and serene smokes, Gary
Thanks Gary. Ah..the Rattray's trinity: old gowrie, hal o the wynd and marlin. That's all I smoked for a while and I loved the yellow tubs. Indeed those and Gawith cover everything for me.
I admire that! We all have too much “stuff.” You know that you have too many pipes when you have a hard time deciding which one to use, and then there’s the tobacco, haha!
Getting rid of social media is a great thing. I closed all of my accounts probably around 10-12 years ago and only use youtube. It's freeing. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Have you ever experienced a phenomenon where the taste of a tobacco kind of inverts about 10 minutes into a pipe? It only lasts for a few puffs but when it hits it's always pleasant.
I think I know what you mean. With a new cob I get a sweet woodiness. When I get to the bottom of the bowl I have an occasional taste of burnt wood which is not that pleasant. But its a good way to know when to finish 😁
one of my favourite experiences with pipe smoking usually comes around 20 minutes after smoking the pipe. When you breath out through or blow the nose. That musky smell similar to the aroma trapped in the whiskers of the moustach(I bet john is missing that now he is fresh faced).
@@scott3991 I think you hit the nail on the head there. I always get this experience with Orlik Vintage. It starts off seeming fairly middle of the road but 10 minutes in it gets very interesting and tasty!
Clean shaven today buddy eh! I jacked in facecloth nearly twenty years ago now as I was sick of all the brave people who love to slag and backstab with the click of a button and I didn’t join fore that but it was the reason I closed down my accounts. I’m looking forward to popping a lid on one of my Mac Baren Scottish mixture but only when I’ve got through some jars first as I don’t want to have as many full. Have a good evening

I don't blame you at all for ditching social media (other than here, of course!) - it can be easily become pretty toxic and all consuming. And no beard this time? I shaved mine off for charity about 10 years ago and was vowed never to go clean shaven again after that!

If you love your cobs, check out forever stems. They are a nice upgrade to your present cobs.

You are very honest and nice person. I never try Falcon, but love the cobs and style of your films
Thank you. A Falcon is definitely worth trying so that you know what they're like. But I'm full cob now.
I love the location where you take your smokes, it appears to be very peaceful and it is exceedingly lovely .what is the name of this place?

Thanks - trimmed down the pipe collection to the essentials: cob, lighter, tobacco :)

Social media? What's that?
Sir does you Cobb take filters or no
Yes. They come with paper filters but I replace them with savinelli balsa 6mm filters. They seem to absorb the tar and moisture better.
