Right now it's a mixed bag because of the veto power on the Security Council but they might be getting rid of it. I think a good mix of grass roots activism and working with the UN is key. Global Governance is vital. It means global coordination in times of global crisis, such as the coming climate crisis which has some scientists legitimately turning into apocalypse preppers. The UN was founded after world war 2. It's kind of like a democracy but with the heads of states casting the votes. Currently the system is a Global Confederacy, a loose coalition of states that work towards common objectives such as the sustainable development goals. The Global Federalist element within that system is the Security Council but it has a limited scope of peace and security and 5 states with veto powers, the USA, UK, France, Russia and China. There's talk of reforming the Security Council so it doesn't have the veto anymore. Then the Security Council will become more democratic and effective in times of crisis and less likely to be deadlocked.
