  • We are sailing into one of the most remote and stunning regions of Australia, the Kimberley coast. A unique and isolated place with incredible biodiversity, huge tides and amazing scenery. This is the last great wilderness frontier of Australia only accessible by boat, NO reception and a shit load of crocodiles!
    Very excited to bring you the first video from sailing through the remote Kimberley in Tangaroa our little aqua vessel.
    These videos are brought to you with the help of our awesome Patrons who support us and encourage us. Thankyou so MUCH!

    I taught evening college 2 hour classes in Financial Statement Analysis featuring a lot of comparative ratio analysis and during our between hour break I showed your videos and especially the drone shots of all the rays in shallow water left my students here in Florida pretty awestruck by the wide open spaces the ocean life and the comradeship and sense of adventure. So glad your back and have a cabin on deck. And yes Jamesis awesome to fix everything that breaks.

    Mate, love hearing about sailing in the Kimberleys. Spent some time on Koolan Island (next door to Cockatoo) as a child, loved it. Remember doing inter-island sports carnivals over there and other school excursions checking out the reefs etc. Going fishing off the wharf on Koolan and taking ourselves off to the beach for the day or an overnight camp. What a brilliant place to grow up. Looking forward to more. Cheers for now guys... ;-}

    nice to see the iconic SA Marsh anchor emerge after all that effort!
    hope you have an alternate for mud, as speaking from experience they are excellent for sand/limestone but slip through mud and coral

    • @SailingTangaroa
      @SailingTangaroa  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Ben, SA anchor has been the bomb, we didn't have any trouble at all anchored in mud throughout the kimberley we were so stoked and also anchoring in up to 17 metres of water never dragged!

      @AndrewMoizer 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SailingTangaroa Have never seen the Marsh style of anchor before. It looks like a very good, simple design. A good friend of mine who sailed a Tangoroa in the 80's really liked his fisherman anchor for weeds and coral. It looks like this would be a good option too. Do you sometimes lower it from the back link so the flukes go straight down?

    Beautiful. !!! I, who am not as young as you, installed a manual windlass in my little tiki 30 this year. Adding some weight to the chain, the windlass is slow but easy to use. Even if you are very young I recommend installing it. Bye Bye

Most are, inc all the big channels, except SLV I don’t think they are members, Delos and all them are.
