Absolutely. Since Reservoir Dogs there’s certain songs I hear now that I remember as being in a QT movie instead of the radio or any other media platform.
My favorite part of this movie has always been when she meets Hattori Hanzo. Especially when she is led up to see Hanzo's sword collection. You have to remember, a Hattori Hanzo sword is something almost legendary. I would imagine the only one she had seen prior was Bill's Hanzo sword. And that is his prize possession. To see even one of those swords was a unique honor. And then.... in that scene she is led into a room where she lays eyes on over 50 Hanzo swords! You would be completely speechless. In total shock and awe. Just the value of all those swords put together would be enough to baffle and amaze you. Tarantino does a splendid job of conveying those feelings to the audience.
Yes, all those swords together would be worth an immense fortune, in Pt 2 we find out how much just one sword is worth. Great reaction and looking forward to seeing Part 2 with you.
I think the bride and Oren used to be friends. That's why we know so much about her back story as compared to rest of the assassination squad. We see this when they mutter the same trix line. I believe that's why she seemed a little sad to continue the fight. I don't know for sure that's just the impression I got.
Yeah, because O Ren actually apologizes during their duel - "For ridiculing you earlier, I apologize." So either they were friends or there was jut a lot of respect there, since they were fellow warriors.
I had the same feeling about their previous relationship. I'm hoping that at some point in the future they make an anime series that shows missions of the Viper Squad and we can see a possible O-Ren/Beatrix friendship and Bea's rivalry/hatred with Elle. There is a lot of potential material.
Amazing choreography, completely over-the-top effects, and the shifts in film style are bloody (pun intended) brilliant (though apparently the B&W was to avoid an NC-17). Edit: Ope, Nick pointed that out too.

With Tarantino’s movies, some are “real world” and others are “movies” in that world. This is a movie in that world. If you remember in Pulp Fiction, Mia said that she was going to be in a TV show called “Fox Force Five” about female assassins. The TV show failed. This was a movie created on the same premise. Or, at least that’s the theory.
Fun fact: the story of Kill Bill started to be developed during Pulp Fiction filming, in 1994 (ten years before the release). Mia Wallace's "Fox Force 5" character served as the basis for The Bride (as she was an assassin specializing in knives, and each member of the group had a particular skill).
Hi guys, you should definetly watch the movie "Lucky Number Slevin", one of my favourite movies with some great actors. It's one of the most underrated movies in my opinion.
Don’t get too attached to the idea of the Bride using a special sword. The great kensei Miyamoto Musashi was undefeated in over 60 duels. Some of these victories were accomplished while he was using wooden swords. Fine blades were wonderful. But clearly it was not the blade that made Musashi a sword saint. Hattori Hanzō’s blade itself is placeholder. A sort of MacGuffin. O-Ren died not realizing (what her instincts were trying to warn her) that a Hattori Hanzō blade in the hand of the Bride was unthinkable because it was in fact a representation that Hattori Hanzō found her so worthy that he broke his retirement oath to create it for her. Quentin Tarantino gives Bill a great speech in Part 2 that explains why The Bride is so special.
Hatori Honzo was played by Sonny Chiba, a legendary Japanese martial artist who starred in over 200 films. He was one of the first martial artists to attain stardom through acting. He died in 2021.

"Part Two Immediately!" --- Yes, Please. Parts 1 & 2 are considered one long movie. Tarantino pays tribute to a different film genre style with every movie that he has made. He does an excellent job at all of them. You should definitely watch them all.
I agree Hattori and his sushi assistant looked different in the sword ceremony. I think it’s because in this moment they are their true best selves - masters of swordsmithing.
Hell yes! I already know this is going to be awesome as hell before even watching it. Also I vote watch all the Tarantino things... except maybe The Hateful 8 & Jackie Brown. Otherwise ALL the things.
My theory always stood that the Bride and O'Ren were close friends. Taking her out first sent a message to the rest of the squad; that she was not playing and there was going to be no mercy. What I always thought was curious was everyone else was aware of her return after O-Ren's death, except for Vernita. No one bothered to warn her. I always wondered why.
Hmm, good point. I’d never thought about that. My initial thought is that she had married, had a child, and had “changed” from the person she used to be, and perhaps they lost contact with her. Or maybe they felt she turned her back on the lifestyle and also them, so they didn’t care about her any longer. Just my initial thoughts 🤷♂️
Great reaction. Looking forward for you to see Kill Bill 2. Nice touch in the fight where she gives the little kid a scolding, but lets him go home to his mother.😊
These are my favorite of his films. He draws a lot of inspiration from cinema that he used to watch in fact his fondest stories are of times he spent in theaters and lines waiting for movies. And when I was very young I had a friend who owned every single B/import kung-fu sort of over the top violence movie you can name and insisted I watched them all. The one's I can see inspired this. So a lot of nostalgia here. Otherwise I just love a good bad guy taking down worse guys story. I'll take the grey area morality any day over the apple pie boy scout protagonist one.
In the fight between O-Ren and the Bride, there is definitely mutual respect. Despite mocking her a bit, O-Ren gives her time to get back on her feet and catch her breath. She might have been able to kill the Bride if she had attacked while she was down. The Bride returns the favor, allowing O-Ren to catch her breath after she was cut.
Regarding the animated segment, I think we see much of the action from O-Ren's point of view, so it is a bit off because we're looking through her child's eyes.
Kill Bill is definite fun as a bit of a reluctant Tarantino enjoyer (I pretty much only like the two KB's, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and True Romance, that he merely wrote), but even the best Tarantino is just sort of watered down versions of something much more awesome. He was majorly inspired by Lady Snowblood here, which legitimately is one of the best movies of all time. Highly recommend.
Hi Nick& Wyn ( I hope I spelled your girlfriend's correctly ) . If not I apologize . This was great reactions and comments from you both ! I Love Katana swords and this is one of my all time favorite movie set . I agree with Wyn about watching Vol.2 right after Vol 1 ....I Love Quentin Tarantino's style of film making. Although the artistry in Kill Bill is far superior to his Death Proof~2007 style I do prefer Death Proof more because of the cinematography.... although both are similarly graphic . I enjoyed this so much. Thank you both and I hope you have a lovely evening .
When I saw Budd at the end as a child, and then heard his "this woman deserves her revenge, and we.. deserve to die", I just couldn't get him out of my head.... GOD HOW I ADORE HIM.... 🫦🥵🫶🏻
I still have the limited Japanese DvD boxset, it's the only uncut version as far as I'm aware. For example the Crazy88s fight is in full color, it doesn't become black&white after she takes out the eye. Also again only in this version, she cuts Sophie's other arm while she's in the trunk, with a huge bloodspray!
In the anime part (O-Ren), the man who stabbed her father was Bill (in his earlier days). He saw O-Ren under the bed. If she was tough enough to survive the fire…he knew he would recruit her later.
Not much is known about who Pretty Riki was, but at some point he became affaliated with Yazuka Boss Matsumoto and worked as an assassin for him. At some point Matsumoto began targetted Mr. Ishii and Ms. Ishii, sending his men to kill them. While Mr. Ishii put up a fight and killed two Yazuka's, he is taken off-guard by Pretty Riki and stabbed in the chest. After Matsumoto then kills Ms. Ishii as well, Pretty Rikki shoots a vodka bottle on a desk, causing alcohol to splash around the scene of the murder. He then uses Matsumoto's dropped cigar to ignite the spilled alcohol and set the room ablaze to destroy the building and leave no trace of what crime they just committed. There was originally supposed to be a scene in which O-Ren got revenge on Pretty Riki alongside Matsumoto but this was not included in the film. The lack of resolution on Pretty Riki's character led to a fan theory that Pretty Riki is actually a young Bill, although director Quentin Tarantino has confirmed this is not the case.
Jackie Brown is treated differently because it's the film that Tarantino directed but didn't write. It's the flip side of True Romance, which is the film Tarantino wrote but didn't direct. It might be interesting to compare & contrast True Romance with Jackie Brown.

@@platinumspider7859 I not sure why, but when people talk Tarantino, death proof is often forgotten, even by me lol. If he plans to retire after 10 movies, once upon a time in Hollywood would have been his 10th, haven’t really thought about it much tbh. I would put death proof at the bottom too, but the core movies would go 1. kill bill 2. Inglorious basterds 3. Pulp fiction 4. Once upon a time in Hollywood 5. Jackie brown 6. Reservoir dogs 7. Django unchained 8. The hateful 8 I love pretty much everything Tarantino has done, I’d put true romance HIGH on the list, 4 rooms was pretty damn good too.
@@Smoothjazzsundays Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was number 9, Kill Bill Counts as one movie. And films where he wasn't director don't count for the list though some are great, particularly True Romance. I'm surprised you have The Hateful Eight so far down since I really like that one, as a fan of The Thing. My List: 1. Kill Bill 2. Pulp Fiction 3. Inglourious Basterds 4. The Hateful Eight 5. Django Unchained 6. Reservoir Dogs 7.Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 8. Jackie Brown 9. Death Proof
This movie is the *nearly* perfect revenge movie. The only actual gripe I have are the bride's lines towards the end..."I promise you, they will be things you will miss." Wth is that? If ANYTHING is chopped off of me, I'm going to miss it. It is a completely unnecessary warning. Also, the "I want him to know. I want him to know." Unnecessary repeated line. I'm not sure what Tarantino was thinking there. Maybe he thought the audience wouldn't hear her through the helmet but it really feels like a mistake.
Read it as this: "I want him to know that I want him to know." It isn't a repeated line, it is a single sentence. She's telling Bill "hey, I'm coming for you, and I want you to know that, so I am sending you this message and whatever you do, I'm going to wreck you."
Why not do them in order? Next should have been Jackie Brown and it would be a better second movie to PF than kill bill. Just like Hateful 8 is perfect for after Django.
"Your mother had it coming" is one of the coldest lines - and coldest deliveries - in movie history.

That female band is the real deal called "The 5,6,7,8s Quentin spotted them, liked their sound so got them into the movies.
I cant wait for vol.2 and more QT movie reactions
Awesome reaction as always!
Finally! My favorite movie ever! 💛
One of my top all time too!
I’m so excited to watch this reaction this is such a treat , one of my most favorite movies of all time. ❤
Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight" after plz!
Speaking of sound effects, Quentin used the same sound effects used by the 1970s Kung Fu and Japanese movies.
Aww yeah! Kill Bill is my favorite from Tarantino. Glad you two are doing these. Keep on going with his movies! They are all pretty top tier movies.
I loooveee these movies. So glad you guys are reacting to them!
You definitely should watch kill bill vol. 2 next
Have you done Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon? GREAT movie! I’m convinced that the assassin for the mob boss in the anime section is Bill.
"she has to fight ten people.' and I'm thinking... BTW, found you recently and love the reactions.
Great reaction. Looking forward for you to see Kill Bill 2. Nice touch in the fight where she gives the little kid a scolding, but lets him go home to his mother.😊
Was waiting for Wen to see this, I knew it would trip her out. 😆
But when it comes to Tarantino’s movies, he always entertains. 🎥
I NEED your part 2 reaction, stat! ❤
I probably would have gone with Reservoir Dogs now
These are my favorite of his films.
I didn't know Django and Inglorious bastards were Tarantino films, too.
I think the Bride shows remorse after every duel because she personally knows everyone she dispatches
Thankyou for not making this movie Reaction Heavily censored. I enjoy it cause it seems authentic. You are my favorite reaction channel. 🙏👍😁
One of my favorite movies of all time
Same! I love it so much
Kill Bill is definite fun as a bit of a reluctant Tarantino enjoyer (I pretty much only like the two KB's, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and True Romance, that he merely wrote), but even the best Tarantino is just sort of watered down versions of something much more awesome. He was majorly inspired by Lady Snowblood here, which legitimately is one of the best movies of all time. Highly recommend.
Cottonmouths also are called water moccasins, but technically all water snakes are moccasins
The band Kaleo (ka-lay-o) does a great cover of the song Bang Bang. I like it better than the original to be honest.
When I saw Budd at the end as a child, and then heard his "this woman deserves her revenge, and we.. deserve to die", I just couldn't get him out of my head.... GOD HOW I ADORE HIM.... 🫦🥵🫶🏻
STOP IT!!! YESSSSSSS!!!👏👏👏👏👏
Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is the full movie, uncut, in one part. Just so you're aware of another.
The defying gravity movies would be "Crouching tiger hidden dragon" and "House of Flying Daggers".
Please please react on Professional. The best action movie ever IMHO. IF you have to stick to Tarantino movies, Django is not too bad.
First time I saw this, I was living abroad and the copy I had didn’t switch to black and white during the crazy 88 second fight.
I was trying to find a place to purchase "Kill Bill: the Whole Bloody Affair" but haven't been able to find it
@@nickreacts6394 yeah you’d have to uh, ya know.. download it 😂
The most 1970s genre redux
You guys shouldn't skip Jackie Brown. It's so underrated and nobody ever reacts to it.
it's the least recognized, though Death Proof is my least favorite.
Jackie Brown is treated differently because it's the film that Tarantino directed but didn't write. It's the flip side of True Romance, which is the film Tarantino wrote but didn't direct. It might be interesting to compare & contrast True Romance with Jackie Brown.
@@maninredhelm It's his only adaptation of a novel, but he did write the screenplay.
Please react to Reservoir dogs 😢
8:50 Fun Fact: These two cops are father and son in real life...Michael and James Parks. 13:50 If it's not creepy, it's not Tarantino.😬
16:49 I'm not gonna "yuck" someone else's "yum", but there's a fetish I will never get. 20:27 Uh-oh, I feel bad for Quỳnh once the Crazy 88 show up. 😁😱🤢
21:25 The Great Sonny Chiba, one of the finest Martial Arts actors in history (and Clarence will back me up on that). 32:26 And here we go, sorry M'Lady. 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸
45:53 "Part 2 Immediately!" 🤣🤣🤣 Nick, my friend...marry this woman. 👍
42:55 She gave her a Ben Franklin!
Definitely my favorite Tarantino movie. 1.Kill Bill 2.Inglorious basterds 3.Pulp fiction
I can never pick one, I just go "top half" and "bottom half" (and the bottom half are still mostly awesome).
@ it’s taken me a few years to make an official ranking lol, but I ranked all 9 of them in my head
@@Smoothjazzsundays Is Death Proof on the bottom like me?
@@platinumspider7859 I not sure why, but when people talk Tarantino, death proof is often forgotten, even by me lol. If he plans to retire after 10 movies, once upon a time in Hollywood would have been his 10th, haven’t really thought about it much tbh. I would put death proof at the bottom too, but the core movies would go
1. kill bill
2. Inglorious basterds
3. Pulp fiction
4. Once upon a time in Hollywood
5. Jackie brown
6. Reservoir dogs
7. Django unchained
8. The hateful 8
I love pretty much everything Tarantino has done, I’d put true romance HIGH on the list, 4 rooms was pretty damn good too.
My List:
1. Kill Bill
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Inglourious Basterds
4. The Hateful Eight
5. Django Unchained
6. Reservoir Dogs
7.Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
8. Jackie Brown
She's telling Bill "hey, I'm coming for you, and I want you to know that, so I am sending you this message and whatever you do, I'm going to wreck you."
i think the word that is missing is “that” - “i want him to know THAT I WANT HIM TO KNOW”
@SeenGod exactly. It is basically a single sentence.
Jackie Brown is awesome
If you like wuxia fighting films I highly recommend watching Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
Vol 2 is even better!
Coming to TH-cam next week!
RIP Sonny Chiba. Warm sake? Very GOOOOD!
Classic movie, the anime scene and the crazy 88 fight scene are truly the best. 👌🏿😎🌴🌙
Yes please keep it going.
Why not do them in order? Next should have been Jackie Brown and it would be a better second movie to PF than kill bill. Just like Hateful 8 is perfect for after Django.
Would love to see Jackie Brown and the Hateful 8 reactions
This movie is also a favorite 🤩❤
