I can't belive Tabatha complimented Joy's final outfit. Everyone was in black and she looked like a highlighter. She couldn't stand not being the center of atention instead of the client like Tabatha said
"I grew up in a toxic environment". Thats what unsolbed trauma looks like. And on the LONG run tabatha gabe her a BIG opportunity to evolve. 💗 Hope she sees it now. Conflict is an opportunity.
I love this show sad its over but I do have youtube to watch these episodes over and over Tabatha I think your the best . Tough but gentle . But Honest much love Wess from Canada ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So...he started fresh out of high school (16??) as a part-time receptionist and became manager-owner by 21. After only one year he has, quote, gotten to the point where he doesn't know what to do anymore. I feel bad for the guy, he took ok way too much, way too soon. Thank goodness for the crash course from Tabatha, bankruptcy so young would have been harsh.
It's cliché by now. What is modern now in salons is that you match your outfits to, let's say, the colours the owner chose for corporate identity, but not wear complete "uniform" style (like the same shirts/polos everyone). When the owner's colour scheme is lilac and black, for example, you match your working clothes to go along with that but in an individual style. Or shades of blue... or grey and softpink ... whatever the corporate colours choses are.
Hairdressers in America are awful, most of them models walked out looking like Wookiee’s! There is no shape, I trained here in the uk and we when to hair shows, school once a week, we had to keep up with the latest styles, there was a gofa that ran round and cleaned up hair, no chair was filled till it had been cleaned and the station cleaned. We had the lower stylist doing the shampooing and they had models come in three nights a week to help them train. We had a tip jar for each stylist on the desk and we had nights out as a team. We all wore our own clothes but had to wear the salons tabard so we stood out as staff. The haircuts were top notch and service was a very expensive coffee with individual wrapped biscuits. No detail was missed and the clients are treated like queens!
Have to agree as a Brit that the standard of hairdressing and professionalism in every UK hair salon I've ever been to is 1000% better than I've seen on this programme. Is it an American thing that they just can't work as a team and feel that being responsible for hygiene and cleaning the salon is beneath them. The hair cutting looks so old fashioned too.
In Germany, you train as a hairdresser for at least three years, oftentimes three and a half. You are not allowed to open a salon without having even more qualifications, which are called Master Professional (very expensive to go through Master training = Meisterschule). I know a hairdresser owning a salon with three stylists employed (might be some of them are part-time staff) and four styling stations only, and she makes a ton of money every month.
If someone like Tabatha comes into your salon, just like when Gordon enters a restaurant, if she or he tells you something about your work, you better listen. You can have 30 years of experience, the fact that you're working as an employee, and you not being Tabatha/Gordon, teaching others, means you're not on top of the profession and can stil benefit from the learning experience.
Disco ball just doesn’t get it! It has nothing to do to do with being up against Tabitha!!!! She needed to hear T about ‘the CLIENT is the STAR’. I am 56 years old and if I can LEARN something from someone to make my personal practice better, I AM going to take it on! Ps. I don’t give a damn how old they are either - never mind getting tips about my work from someone acknowledged to be top of the game.
Yay this was a fun one! Pablo became a model for a bit after this. Edit: Tabatha and Alexs banter was hilarious and her dislike of Joy was classic 😂 Edit #2: upon watching this I think Pablo becoming a hairdresser would have been a smarter idea. He could have still been in the salon and be paid more and gain some skills.
You are right. Tabatha was just nice to her at the end because she probably told her a sad story about her dysfunctional family so Tabatha took easy on her.
Here in the UK every salon pretty much has a uniform. I don’t know anywhere, even little back street salons where everyone wears just whatever they want. I did live in the US for a while and my (not very good) memory is that salons had a uniform?
update for the poeple looking. pablo is now a onlyfans star and the salon is closed, uknown when but the last yhelp comment is from 2013 and in 2014 there yelp site was done so im guessing it closed feb 2014.

If I walked in and saw the disco queen you wouldn't see me for dust.
Not sad. Pablo is not even a hairdresser. He is only 21. His employees are all older than him, experienced hairdressers. Why takeover a salon? How to manage his staff? Wrong decision. Like a square peg in a round hole. He should go find a job, less stress for him.
@@gracetruth9900 Apparently he did LOL. I thought he was more suited to take direction than to give it, he was too young and inexperienced for an industry that is cut throat without knowing nothing of the business himself, from what I can gather he's doing fine now or at least I hope. Joys outfits are ridiculous, she looks like a 70s throwback. And her attitude is gutter
😂
Lol I didn't like her but they're not all wearing black. Alex's shirt is a brighter highlighter colour than her outfit
Omg!!! Christmas came early!!! Another new re run!!!!! Keep em coming PLEASE!!!! 🙏 ❤
A new one that I haven't seen!! I love this show and love Tabitha. people don't realise how lucky they are to have the help of such a caring person.
Isn’t she amazing! There’s so much love behind those steely blue eyes. I’m so proud that she is a fellow Australian ❤
Joys nervous twitch at 38:01 when Tabitha's verdict is given is what does it for me!! Haha!
Joy complaining about the salon colour, her hairpiece does not even match her hair colour.
I Know right 😂. She needs to shush.
I noticed that too 😂
