@Kaiser 卐 oh I know!! And I agree, the headless horseman is the freakin best part of the movie. And Christopher Walkins (if I spelled that right) was phenomenal. I’m just remarking on my crush on Johnny Depp.
There was a tree at in the woods around my childhood home that looked exactly like this one. Altering seeing this movie when I was a wee lad, I avoided the tree entirely
I remember being a kid watching this in the theater & when the heads were revealed the crowd broke into screams & gasps EVERY SINGLE TIME. God, I love this movie. 😍
I don't get why his role as Jack Sparrow is blamed for his behavior in Depp's recent films, because this role clearly depicts the Sparrow behavior as well and this came out in 1999.
@Kaiser 卐 gore is something that people find disgusting because it's a natural instinct is someone is not than it's likely they have been desensitized by it
@Based and transphobic Because everyone is different. We all have different opinions, different points of view, different things that make us uncomfortable. For my part, gore and violence makes me incredibly queasy. I still watch some pretty gory things (Game of Thrones for example), but only if there's a good story to offset the blood and guts (again, Game of Thrones comes to mind). The mindless violence and fearmongering of most horror films is not for me, I can't stomach it, and I don't want to.
I saw this movie for the first time on Halloween and happened to be on the phone with a friend during this scene. In the middle of the conversation, I screamed ''THE TREE IS FULL OF SEVERED HEADS OH MY GOD!!'' My friend wouldn't stop laughing at me xD
I love how Katrina moves close to Young Masbath after Ichabod bids them stay back, and then she takes him in her arms when he sees his father's severed head, rubbing his back tenderly like a mother would do.
I love this movie! It’s actually the best horror movie I’ve ever seen! I love the actors and the characters! The classic story about Ichabod Crane and The Headless horseman is great too! I actually has played this story as a theater once! Me and my group made our own version of Sleepy Hollow! And I was playing Ichabod Crane! It was really fun!
LOL remember when that fat guy was trying to escape then Whoops 😲🔪 plop lol the way his head went Twirling around Soo quickly it was actually kinda funny looking wouldn't you agree with me?
Hark, I see Benjamin Barker and Johanna! Not sure if this is Benjamin before he became Sweeney; or after he ran away from London with Johanna, took up his old name again and traveled around with her
DOESN'T FLINCH VERY MUCH WHEN SHE SAW THE HEADS? BUT THE BOY DID....THAT TELLS YOU SHE'S NOT AFRAID OF DEATH.... I LOVE YOU CHRISTINA RICCI MORE THAN ANYONE EVER WILL AND COULD❤❤

My god, no matter how tan or pale he is, how his hair is styled or even the tone of his voice is. Johnny Depp is freakin HOT!!!
GOLDDIGGER
Johnny depp was literally like Newt scammander from fantastic beast in this movie💀
@Kaiser 卐 oh I know!! And I agree, the headless horseman is the freakin best part of the movie. And Christopher Walkins (if I spelled that right) was phenomenal. I’m just remarking on my crush on Johnny Depp.
AGREED.
TH-cam comments tend to be mostly low IQ stuff like this.
I love Johnny Depp’s facial expressions
Yeah
Me too 💕

you need to go back, there is probably a dead hessian under it

I love how Katrina is such a motherly figure to Masbath.
I just noticed which two heads are right in front of the pile and all I have to say is poor Masbath
Yes such a sweetheart😊 I'd wanna try to comfort the poor kid too, that was gruesome
What does surprise me about this scene is that everyone didn't scream not even the kid or katrina what is impressive she is a brave woman!
I remember being a kid watching this in the theater & when the heads were revealed the crowd broke into screams & gasps EVERY SINGLE TIME. God, I love this movie. 😍
@DigiDestined55X omg, I love seeing people's reactions, especially those who scare easily 😅
She just slips out a little "ugh" you know
The effect of "pushing" the heads is well done and absolutely terrifying
To me, this was Tim Burton's most horrifying piece. I do love it.
Better than most modern day horror films.
This might be the first horror movie I've watched multiple times
I’m sure the Addams family would be so proud of Tim Burton.
@@tararocksong5085 He’s probably a cousin of theirs. 😂
@@alicecheshire4806, hahahaha. They’d welcome him with open arms as long as you don’t mess with them.
@WieldingEminator I'm going have to agree with you.. is the second Horror I'd Watched many times
You gotta admit though, Ichabod is badass for not losing his head after seeing that.
Riiiiiiiiight, because the murdering ghost wasn't set up to kill him....yet
Now this scene is stuck in my head.
*congealed
HHHAAAAAAAHHHHHAAAAA I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE!!!!
Puuun pun pun, pun...

Rising MC and evverywhere else
the expression of face shown by Johny deep is so accurate perhaps no actor can do it like this level
Johnny is a great actor. I wish he could back on track
Johnny Depp is a great actor, I wish he could back on track and make good movies again.
All three of them had spot on facial expressions in this scene
Hard to believe that the entire forest is man made.
@Lavender Cookie why???
@@abijithp92 They couldn't find a forest that was naturally creepy and unnatural enough.
I am currently processing that
Over the Garden Wall
The crew said "when u step into the western woods, it's like ur stepping into tim burton's head"
that scene used to give me the creeps when I was little, I love this movie.
I don't get why his role as Jack Sparrow is blamed for his behavior in Depp's recent films, because this role clearly depicts the Sparrow behavior as well and this came out in 1999.
How about fear and loathing in las vegas? Lol
Me when I first saw this: “oh a bleeding tree. Pretty cool but not too gruesome. OHHH SWEET MOTHER !”
Yeah, now you know why it’s called the Tree of the Dead. It was hiding a deadly, bloody secret.

@@loud_and_immodestThe way its presented in this movie is cool tho
I do have to admit, the Tree of the Dead really does look like a very haunting tree.
When I saw Icabod chopping at the blood, I thought it was foreshadowing Sweeney Todd's career.
gxfan039 it's funny how in one movie he plays someone afraid of blood and in another he's after blood
Yep.
I think that's what Tim Burton tried to do tried to make him look a little bit like Sweeney Todd
Poor young Masbath... having to see all those decapitated heads..
Especially as one is his fathers…
That's no way to get ahead in life.
If you lose your head.
Get Out. Right Now.
That part when the heads pop out with the loud noise stuck with me for years.
Also i wanna get hugged like that🗿
The amount of head puns in the comment section are too damn high! I think it's time to head out
Yeah they should quit while they're ahead.
They’re just being a tad too headstrong
Jhonny Depp is hot😍💖💖💖
Ai lads, gotta head out then.
Way ahead of you....
After seeing that I'd head for the hills.
Head for the tree's, they wouldn't expect it.

How they make cutting a tree look squeamish is beyond me.
O my God Johnny Depp is beautiful
that's tim burton for you!
He's a good movie director
Katrina reminds me of violet beauregarde
That was Tim Burton, you mean. Now, all he does is CGI bore fests.
I just love his expressions 😍
That tree reminds me of my closet.
John Rotten funny. It reminds me of my storeroom.
Your closet have a bunch of heads?
Ooh, creepy
Yeah like my basement
Yeah. I’m just gonna make a couple of calls.
this was really disgusting, and the worst part is that i was drinking strawberry lemonade.😑

im just imagining the effects guy standing off camera with a ketchup bottle of fake blood, squirting it on johnny depp when he swings the axe
Now that is how you make a jumpscare. Creatively beautiful horror
The first swing of the axe, a blood curdling scream of pain!😈😱💀
Watching this while eating is not a good idea
iya saya setuju :P
Ini bahasa Indonesia bukan Romanian mas
i was having spaghetti
I think Johnny Depp was a good pick to play as icabod Crane
Well, who else?
He chopping it with his mouth open, how no blood got in his mouth is beyond me
Tim Burton is/was a master of really creepy and convincing sets.
I like how in the shot where they gather around the tree, the enter on a bell beat with the final beat marking the reveal of the tree.
This will be remembered.
I have chose the wrong drink for watching this...

Jhonny Depp is so funny and cute!
@joshua ashley of course not stop being so gullible.
Seagull man That was Blood.
All this blood my God
did anyone knows if you turn you phone up side down is actually look like a goose
i wish they had trees like that nowdays
According to Tim Burton, he liked making sure "blood" squirted on Johnny Depp face 😅
The Tree of the Dead looks like a combination of one of the characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas and a graboid from Tremors.

well, have to say I wasn't expecting the heads. But the movie seems awesome
Shadow4evva u have no idea👌👌👌👌
I haven't seen this movie in years and yet I still remember the horrible scenes.
Damn. Now I don't want to chop a tree anymore!
It kind of reminds me of a sci-fi horror anime which it's called Ginocyber
The missing heads in that tree what a bad idea
am i right in thinking that trees aren't normnally shaped like that?
It’s called the tree of the dead! What did you think was in it sap?
Trees are living things too
Creepy. As. Hell.
The blood got to love that blood
This is some sick stuff.
I don't know if anyone else said this, but If you look at it, the tree kinda looks like a serpent
Chopping a bleeding tree seems directly borrowed from the Aeneid. 🤔 *Was* Burton purposely making that allusion?

It's my first horror movie I watched last week because im too afraid but I wasnt scary. Lol
The first one you see is always the least scary because of how much you expect.
WHY IS THE VERSION ON YT CENSORED!?
While he was hacking at the tre and the blood was spurting everywhere, all I could think was BENJAMIN BARKER!
So many head puns
On Freeform they always skip the actual clip with the heads. Just 3 more secs of footage
