Good tips here... For about 20 years I made a living selling fun to tourists here on Kauai. If you don't leave some time to do absolutely nothing then you will miss Kauai's best. Smell the air, savor the breeze, count the stars, listen to the ocean, feel the warm sand... relax, this isn't Disneyland.
I just spent a week on Kauai. One of my favorite places in the world. I spent lots of time in Hanalei Bay & Tunnels. I definitely preferred the north side of the island. Hanalei Bay definitely has a small town vibe. I saw many of the same people multiple times during the week. I want to go back.
This was my very first adventure of my life at 58 I had the best time of my life there I stayed 2 weeks with my friend that lives there I'm planning to go again thanks for your video I'm writing things to do next time art night was one of my favorite things ❤
The mountain tubing adventure from kauai back country was one of my favorite activities on my honeymoon. They take you on the worlds most beautiful lazy river ride. An absolute must do in my opinion! Like everything else book in advance because they sell out!
Thank you for posting this! We leave this Friday 8/2 for Kauai. I’m so excited, never did a big trip like this before. Some of the excursions are very very expensive. We are also looking for things to do on our own.
Wow, what an amazing video! I love how you captured the beauty of Kauai and all the amazing things it has to offer. I'm so inspired to take another trip there! Thank you for sharing
I lived on Oahu back in the 80's and visited Maui, Kauai, and Molokai and Kauai was my favorite. Doing an island cruise next year and am so looking forward to visiting Kauai again. Thanks for the suggestions.
We’ve been watching your vids tonight, preparing for our seventh visit to Kauai next month. We keep commenting on how you know your stuff! You’ve highlighted so many of our favorites. Question though… We love snorkeling Anini and our past two trips we’ve tried to see turtles but have struck out every time. A guy told us to go past the park and park under the power line towards the end of the road that there were always turtles sleeping and hanging out on that part of the reef. We tried that with no luck. Any ideas about where to find them there?
Anini is a great place to see them in the morning. One the south side there's a snorkel spot next to the beach house restaurant that almost always has a few too.
Coconuts was too. I think they still have one on Maui. If you liked Coconuts you should try Lava Lava Beach Club...it's right on the beach which is fun!
If you're on a budget, I recommend the deli in Foodland. Be prepared for sticker shock. Everything is expensive compared to the mainland. Sign up for the discount card.
There really isn't a bad time. The winter has bigger waves for surfing, Jan-early March is good for whale watching, Spring is great, I love the summer and the smaller waves, Fall has fewer visitors and smaller crowds. It's really a year around destination.
@@KauaiAnne I don’t really have the funds to pay for extras like kayaking. I’m renting a jeep. I was hoping I could hike to some waterfalls that I can sit under. I’m a 53 year old grandma, and I’m heading to Kauai by myself to just be quiet with The Lord-to still my heart and know… I’m going through the change of life, and I just need to get away to refresh. I’m from Florida, and the ticket price and lodging was perfect for me…. Kauai, here I come🌺🦋 I appreciate all of your videos. @landonkids4935 maui is better for you if you wanna see lots of waterfalls along road to hana and less hiking than hanakapiai falls...have to be a good driver tho that road is no joke lol
Hi!! Mahalo!!! Thanks for the great video.Where is the most affordable place to rent kayaks for the day to tour the Wailua river and secret water falls? It’s for a family of six in the summer. We do not want to be in a tour and prefer to be on our own. We’re all physically fit and can handle moderately difficult activities
You used to be able to rent them at the Hawaiian Village and do a self guided tour. That place has closed, so I'm not sure it's an option if you want to rent them right on the Wailua river. There are less convenient places to rent kayaks if you can transport them there.
Some of the best Thai food is that truck! Better than in Thailand …plus Hawaii in general is so much nicer and has water with fish 🐟 and no trash floating. Yes, picky American speaking lol my channel is about this! Haha
Tacos el pastor in Kauai... im not going half way around the pacific just to eat Mexican food.. i get that here... in Los Angeles.. or just go across the border and really get the best Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos .. the beef is cooked over wood.. hand made torts... its ONO brah.
These are your 25 best? More than 3/4 of this was tourist trap stuff. If you're only going to these things you're truly missing out. Also, I had Chicken in a Barrel and it's far from great and affordable. Worst BBQ, I've ever had. Also, there wasn't one beach on this island that was suitable for swimming. The ones you mentioned on the north shore have extremely rough surf. With all due respect, there are FAR better places/activities in Kauai then this.
Thank you for the respect, since I live on Kauai and go to all of these places they clearly aren't just tourist traps. I hope people find your Kauai videos helpful. Good luck.

I love the Friday night art walk in Hanapepe! That is also a great thing to do!
Fish and guests …3 days max 😂
You are adorable! Thank you! My family is going to do so many of these
This is one of the best highlight videos I've seen as I've been preparing for my trip out there. I'll be sharing this video with others. Mahalo.
aww...thank you!
1. Right slice mango lilikoi pie 🥧 2. Holey grail donuts 🍩 3. Koloa zipline 3 of our faves
Love Right Slice and Holey Grail...especially when they have a lilikoi donut!
Right Slice - all pies are amazing!! We loved the Koloa ziplining too. Have not had the donuts.
@@lindab2323 You've got to try them! They're now in Hanalei, Kapaa, Honolulu, and Santa Monica!

The tubing through the old sugar cane canals is fun!
I didn't know this was a thing! This is now being added to my list!
Yep I did it twice. One of my favorite things I did on Kauai.
Did 18 out of 25 things on your list and all were a hit. Have to agree that the helicopter tour was definitely 👌 🔥.
So informative. Thank you so much!
Mahalo!
Thank you for this video. I will be watching again before our trip.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the ones you do try!

❤❤❤wow you are amazing ❤❤❤
I hope you are able to do some of these!
Can’t wait to get there!
Helicopter tour is a must in this area and in Alaska to see glaciers 🎉
Thank you 😊
Thank you very much.

I recommend Kauai Diner near the airport in Lihue. It's not fancy, but ono grindz!
Thank you! I’m so excited to go!
Can you recommend where you recommend to stay?
I would love to wake up to the beach and go straight for a swim 😊

Great tips for the haoli's. Love the video! Don't agree with Chicken in a Barrel. One of the worst meals I had on the island (Hanalei)
Lol...that is to bad to hear. Sometime maybe give them a second chance...or not, there are a lot of amazing places to eat on Kauai!
Awesome video Anne !
Thank you!
I like that Jurassic Park was filmed on Kauai!!!
Yes, as you drive around it's like you can almost see where the dinosaurs roamed! :)
Let’s not forget Raiders of the Lost Ark! 🤠
I just want to sit under waterfalls somewhere…. Any recommendations?
I would kayak and then hike up to secret falls off of the Wailua river.

How was shave ice never mentioned?!?! Wailua Shave Ice is my personal fave!
aww...shave ice is definitely a must do! I love JoJo's.
I'll try both❤
I agree #10 ace hardware parking lot went there a few times. Yummy also fed a few roosters 🐓 😋
Are you referring to the North Shore General Store, across from the Ace Hardware? Yes, that is also very good.
@@kauaiwithanne3134 on rice Street
@@mandujanojuan437 Anattas Thai food truck! YES, so good!
No Polihale? Or did I miss it?
One of my favorite beaches for sure.
Any good beaches for hunting sea shells?
Maybe Anini...best time is after a storm.
any locals know if you can rent and ride e-bikes on the kapaa trail?
Not sure if you're technically not supposed to, but I see people doing it.
We rent e bikes and rode them on the trail. They just require you to wear a helmet or you can’t have the bike.
Question: We have a party of 8 coming over Easter. What is best place to get Easter Brunch ?
Keokis Paradise ? Any other suggestions
@@orangecountyriptide6334 If it's open by Easter, I bet the hotel 1 Hanalei Bay will be amazing for an Easter brunch. It will also be expensive.

Rough or calm surf depends on the time of the year, mostly winter=rough, summer=calm. with exceptions that are always dangerous.
Why are you hating on a top 25 things to do list lol😂 you gotta get some ass today now I command you
There are plenty of beaches you can swim at on Kauai. Are you sure you went to Kauai?
Maholo for not saying IN Kauai. So many visitor blogs are in an Island.I've been 25 years ON Maui...
Yes, I live ON Kauai. :)
