What I love about the M103 is how absurd the standard AP is. Like, it has no right doing more damage than the HEAT does, and other times it criminally robs you with bounces HEAT would never troll you with. The gun is difficult to get to behave, but when it does behave, this tank is so good lmao
AP shell get stopped by t-54 side armour once. He turned around and one shot me. Raged so hard
Overall, I love the tank for its incredible damage and mantlet armour (stops 400mm heat) but it's br ruins it for me. The reload, bad ammunition storage, and weight has it outclassed at 7.7

I tried to like the M103, but that reload is too long. The armor is good to a certain extent, but many vehicles have little to no trouble penning the tank. I like the Amx-50 surbaisse over this thing. Same AP ammo with 6 sec reload and faster.
The Surbaisse shoots the same round but with a 6 second autoloader

Heavy tanks deserve more love by Gaijin. Horrible traction, new derp guns, the proliferation of HEAT-FS and volumetric have made their gameplay so painful.

Malzi what I've always appreciated in your vids is that you never hide your deaths. ❤️ It makes you so relatable to your fans to know that you struggle with us and though you are a great player, you still show the deaths in the gameplay 👍

This tank was really fun when it was introduced to game first. You didn't have shitboxes that could run circles around you and lolpen your tank at every angle/range. Gun was great but real downside was reload, which is understandable. I had a blast back in these days.

Finally a TH-camr who uses the that SLUG round of AP instead of the HEAT.
Since the M103 shared the same turret ring diameter (85.0 inches / 215.9 centimeters) as the M60 and M1, it may have been possible to upgrade the M103 with the three-man turret of the M60A3 SLEP or M60-2000 armed with the M256 120mm L44 smoothbore gun.
Always a bit sad to get to the last heavy tank in the line. Kinda the last hurrah of the heavy armour before everyone went to composites and sabot. T-10M is like this.

@@Rihardololz Literally no reason to spend cash if you don't want to. I had millions even before the recent update and now repair costs are so cheap you can do whatever you like. I actually I just used the big discount to get 3 month premium for like 16 euros after 800 hours.

One of my favourite tanks in the game that i just recently discovered, had a monster game in a 8.3 lineup that had an m103, 18kills and almost 7000 score 😎
How in the world do you get 7k score with only 18 kills? My record game is 26 kills with like 2 caps and I reached 6.1k so dont lie ma man.
I've had 18 kills, 3 caps and 2 assists. The exact score was 6950. You may have been playing lower tier or the majority of your kills were lower tier than you. I have no reason to lie, believe what you want, I'm purple on thunderskill in all 3 ground gamemodes.

@@Sveta7 If nuke was available I would have gotten it 2 times but still I think you are right that mid to low tier where you cannot get a nuke has much less sp gain.

My favorite american tank, just before i quit WT some 7-8 years ago. Its so fucking ugly, but (at the time) the HE round it had, with 45mm of pen, was doing so much work, and unlike the HEATFS round it had, it was free (rather than costing like 2k lions per).

Love this thing in theory, it is one of my most played tanks. American analog to the Conqueror to fight the soviet IS-3. Unfortunately due to the turret shape and relatively short track length, the stability while moving even at low speeds is pretty sad.
The HEAT FS shell has very poor post pen damage given its amount of explosive filler, but should be reserved for dealing with angled armor. The AP shell is bonkers when it works.
Every once in a while, even in an uptier, you'll have a perfect game with this thing and its so rewarding.
But most of the time youll have AP loaded as an IS4 drifts around the corner as an Alouette takes out your driver and gunner with a missile :']
I love watching an entire team take 8 minutes just to kill one maus when i play 7-8 br american.
Oh and yes that includes me as well.
The M103 can be fun after you get used to it (and don't get many uptiers) but the reload is painful if you get a Solid shot moment

@_LeFish_ idk about better, but it can be more fun. The 50-120 has better mobility (reverse speeding is a pain tho) and reload but lacks a highpen round and gun handling. Also zero armour but it's French so ya know

M103 is not a bad 7.7 tank
But 7.7 is just pure uptier hell.
Oh yeah, somehow Gaijin has managed to make that entire tier bracket the most painfully prone to the most painful uptiers.
I think i have an explanation for 8:40 kugelblitz pen. The m103 has a small weakspot on either side of the turret where the range finder pokes through. Other than the 25mm of armor the range finder has there's no armor there.
Classic Leo 1 moment. The round does nothing and he one-shots you back.
Fun fact: M103 has range finder, which has only 16 mm armor) So you can kill M103 with each tank in the game) Your gunner died on 8:45 by pen through this range finder)
Learned the hard way, it's always better to aim too high than too low with the solid AP. At a distance.
Next M103 part 2? How about add a ceremonial medley music march?
