Yeah no offence or whatever, but to me all rap sounds the same, rapping about being a bad boy/girl and then we're all very surprised when they turn out actually be involved in criminal activity. Humans are nothing is not consistently messy 😂
@@439801RS it's always this discourse when a female rapper decides to flip the script, but when the male rappers do it, most men don't seem to think it's messy or something that is extremely disrespectful
What gets me is from the lyrics I've seen she's not even doing a 'girlboss feminism' thing where she gets to boast about SA because men do. All the stuff here is basically, "Yeah, I take advantage of willing men, I use them to get what I want and give them what I want." People pretending like that's in any way equivalent to how male rappers regularly talk big about how they do SA all the time probably need a little more critical thought in their lives. It's just a dom rapping about being a dom. Good for her.
but are they actually misandrist, or is it just a fight-back response? so much rap by men specifically treats women like commodities or trophies (or much worse)
Yh I mean Eminem legit said in Romans revenge that he tied a girl up to the bed and peed on her. But ceech does it to a willing participant and its bad?!?!?
This is kinda unrelated, but does anyone else tune the hell out when a man is referring to women as females? I think it's because they're still referring to men as men that irks me about it. Like they're not saying male/female or men/women, it's specifically men and females.
@Dsonsee oh my goodness, thank you. I could not place the term like I knew it was a definitely a form of othering, but yes that's it completely. Honestly it feels super validating to put a word to it because I almost feel gaslit in some spaces as if it's not an issue.
I was just about to say, her rap voice is FANTASTIC. It fits the energy perfectly and she’s very good at moving with the flow of the lyrics with conviction and timing. Rapping (rapping well at least) is a lot harder than people realize since you have to do so much at once and she can - with her own unique personality
@ his most listened to artist on Spotify last year was D-Block Europe lmao, we’re talking a 60 year old white English man here. He’s more culturally in tune than me pahaha
As a straight black dude that enjoys your videos. I have no issues with her lyrics. It's kinda hard to get bothered by things like this when she's gaming the system men made😅 And thanks a lot, I got Hilary Duff's song stuck in my head now 😄
As a straight brown dude...It's funny seeing how many people are offended by her song, I think its cool and seen as a counter culture to the current trap/rap culture
Eh. These kinda comments are where actual problems come from though. Chyna ain't a misandrist. But apathy for misandry just gives further incentive for patriarchy. Being upset at patriarchy, blaming men, etc, all of that is fine. Anger and reactions are valid. But an eye for an eye just leaves no one with a proper solution.
That’s my opinion. Misandry is a response to misogyny and often leads to hurt feelings. The ‘roles reversed’ argument never works because history tells and shows us what happens in the ‘reverse’. Hating men is not okay, but often times it leads to women isolating themselves and talking shit from a distance. When the roles are reversed, it often leads to women being assaulted…or killed.
@@ziose0 That's the thing though, most "misandry" isn't an eye for an eye. A lot of it is at best the mildest of pushback and on it's more intense end just women saying men ain't shit or just giving back the same treatment women have been receiving verbally after a long history or abuse and being slagged off by men. Truth told, I recognize some of that reaction isn't helpful to discourse or bridging gaps, but I also recognize a lot of the women getting hostile aren't looking to bridge gender lines, they just want to vent, which is valid, and a lot of the guys getting so offended and crying misandry are dudes who probably weren't going to listen to women and try to empathize and see where they're coming from in the first place. While I recognize a lot of the women going as hard as Ceechyna are probably not women who are interested in setting down with men to have a thoughtful roundtable about gender roles while respectfully hashing out differences in belief and perception, I think more dudes getting offended and Ceechyna could stand to ask themselves why some women may be feeling this hostile, if they just woke up one day and decided they don't like men, or if this reaction is based on how women are treated by men and perhaps a time coming. I think more dudes could stand to realize some women just aren't going to like men all that much, and that may be based on observing the world or their personal experiences and might not be completely unreasonable, but also that's her problem and these guys can just not engage with stuff that upsets them and live their own lives.
The passive acceptance of brutal misogyny within our male artists’ work persists to this day; it has not disappeared let alone been reformed in any meaningful way. Ceechyna is a necessary reaction, and a passionate as well as powerful one at that. I for one will watch her career with great interest, as well as any other who follows in her footsteps.
Right? Even if I entertain that Ceechyna's rhetoric is bad, I want to see dudes who like rap and hiphop calling out all other misogynistic verses from their faves and being loud about it, protesting them, altering their lyrics, boycotting them and calling for others to do the same, THEN maybe I'll listen to what they have to say if they want to come for Ceechyna too. If they don't do that, well it's easy to see it's not about bigotry it's about their feefees being bruised.
So it's hypocrisy then? Got it. It was never about the Misogyny in Rap it was always about "Well we don't have this thing that men have" as soon as y'all get it, it's okay? It's "being a Bad bitch" or whatever? Lol
First of all men shouldn't have dominance over anything or anyone and neither should a woman. We should have equality for men and women the world would be such a better place if we had equality.
That’s what I’ve noticed. A lot of men who are violent and misogynistic and have careless attitudes simply laugh at genuine conversation and worsen their abuse. I’ve only ever seen men react if you actually turn the tables- I don’t mean set up a system of oppression against them- but I mean insult them in exactly the same way they just insulted you, say exactly the same thing they keep saying in reverse, even give them a hypothetical reversal. It’s like how at school if a bully keeps beating you up you can’t always just talk to them or be nice to them until they stop- sometimes there is only one language they know and they need a taste of their own medicine to back off. Sometimes you need to fight back. And I’ve especially noticed that a lot of men do not respond to thoughtful criticism or empathetic discussion, they respond to being ridiculed the way they just ridiculed others. Then there is finally peace. Obviously go in with thoughtful and kind discussion first. But if that doesn’t work, self defense and mirroring becomes necessary.
As a woman who likes to dom, i love her stuff. You'd be shocked how many men are into it and i hope she makes a shit tone of money off it. Get that bag, girl!
I knew a female DOM and she had plenty of high roller clients....she once brought this CEO to a party and he dressed like a puppy dog and sat in the corner with his bowl the whole time....she referred to him as "puppy dog"
Cherry on top? Like it ticks all your boxes of oppressed oppressor model you learnt in your school...like if lesbian black transhumanist you would like it more? You all are so fake
Yo, straight Punjabi man here! I feel called out at the demographic point you were making like, damn! is it that bad? how are men just not getting to this channel! I was gonna show this to my friend to communicate these points to him but now I feel like: He is gonna tune out so fast >_< (not your fault; typical straight male behavior). Anyhow Khadjia, love your content and vibes!!! Keep it coming! Love learning from and listening to these discussions :D
Straight man here. I have struggled in the past to have female friends that are just friends. Born in the 80s and socialized that way. Woke up to feminism in 2010 but was already married. Made friends with my wife's friends. Separated now and not wanting to date. Finally found some lady friends that are just friends (some I'm attracted to and some I'm not). I really enjoy having a feminine perspective from the people in my life. I wish a lot more men had that but I understand why it can be hard.
Omg this!!! I wish there was more support/representation for this! The whole "men and women can't be friends!" sucks. I love my guy friends, but it fits me 💯% of the time as I'm Demisexual/Demiromantic and solo polyamorous and I really value my platonic friendships a lot or just as much as my family and romantic relationships...
Good point. The socialization aspect usually happens before we are old enough to comprehend what is happening. Usually hides behind words like “cultural” and “my way or the highway” parenting so it doesn’t get questioned.
She’s a really good lyricist and her art is raunchy like her predecessors: I like it a lot. The music industry is over saturated and I love the new edge she brings.
"Your fans must be allergic to streaming. I checked those streams and they went down four" is funny as hell, her pen is savage. I'm looking forward to seeing what else she does.
Nah it does cause institutional harm. It radicalizes the men that can be radicalized towards the right. It’s one of the reasons tons of young men voted republican in America. It’s one of the reasons why tons of young men simply don’t care about women’s issues. This kind of stuff just polarizes the sexes more and makes men not want to engage with feminism. I’ve been saying this for years but honestly I’ll just let the political and cultural outcomes speak for themselves. Everytime one of y’all say I’m wrong I’ll just point to another poll and another election which rejects liberal values
It always irks me when people say domination is masculine. I can understand that the patriarchy structures things such that men are dominant and do the vast bulk of the dominating and oppressing, but to say domination itself is masculine just feels like you're paying back into that. It feels extra ironic when talking about trying to break down the patriarchy, trying to separate gender from a lot of these systems and problems, etc, because you're still reattaching a core component of the system right back to gender right back in the way that continues that patriarchal model.
@@10roub28 yeah, that’s what I was thinking, too. The stuff that Khadija was saying in both the lead and follow up to that point, in regards to deconstructing and detaching the ideas of gender, equating certain traits and behaviours with either masculinity or femininity, etc, just seemed fully at odds with them then still referring to dominance/sexual dominance as masculine. Maybe they meant it as ‘dominance that is seen in a patriarchal culture as inherently masculine’, ‘appearance/presentation currently associated with femininity’, but I’d’ve thought they’d’ve given the disclaimer that they were using this sort of shorthand. Probably not articulated this super well as I’m watching before bed so am tired, hope it made sense
Easy answer ? I treat them like i treat everyone else if you are cool with me im cool with you. If we become friends ? If you got my back i got yours. If you gotta walk trough hell best belive im right there cracking jokes about the heat. As i walk with you. Maybe that makes me an alien but thats just me
this debate is so obtuse to me like it isnt a known stereotype that 6 figure+ earning men have a exclusive kink for this type of stuff. Like there arent crazy stories about executive clients getting dominated The dudes acting obtuse are getting dommed by grifters everyday like… im tired of
I may be wrong and I am saying this very loosely, but I think women relate to the songs because it's much easier for the oppressed to want to just become the oppressor. it's the awareness of a lack of power and the acknowledgment that the only form of power that is manifested is the one acted on by the oppressor.
I don’t think women want to be the هpp٢ẽşšö٢. I think they’re just tired of always being disrespected and are pushing back or are siding with those women who are playing men at the very games that they themselves created.
@DumplingDoodle It’s an emotional pushback which triggers a systemic response in the form of polarizing men away from women politically. This polarization is being experienced around the world and is one of the reasons right-wing politics is surging (I’m not saying it is a main factor but it certainly is a factor). It’s a matter of practicality, not about whether the emotional response is justified or not. Healing the culture and shifting society towards progressivism does not take place through this rappers songs and sentiments like hers being held by women. Imagine if Dr. King, Nelson Mandela, or Gandhi had used pejoratives and antipathy against those that were oppressing the people they advocated for. The civil rights movement in America probably would never have achieved as much as it did
one of my best friends who's a straight dude is truthfully the first man in my life who;s ever truly listened to me and not just when talking about gender and the patriarchy, but that he genuinely listens to people is one of the things that makes me value him so much as a person. it does suck that it feels so rare to find in men, but makes me value those friends who are like that more!
@marilynmourneblade85667 i have the same with my boyfriend. in a way, it's sad that i adore this trait in him so much purely because i rarely find that trait in other people. (obviously i love him for a million other reasons, but hopefully you get what i'm saying)
There's men out there who really wanna "replace" women with realistic AI robots. And they say it so proudly ("she" will be your competition) - boy you aren't even in the game 😂 it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this 👀
if they're satisfied with a robot, why is it your job to give a damn? saves the dating market a lot of weirdos, honestly. it's like if a woman chose not to date because she has a dildo. maybe a bit depressing, but who cares?? this is one double standard i take a lot of issue with honestly. if you feel threatened, angry, or insecure because somebody wants to bang a robot over a woman? that's on you.
@@Lowkeykindabi I'm not sure if you're joking but I agree. At some point humans will have to reckon with the concept of what makes an entity a "person" whether it's human or not. I don't doubt some men will treat these hypothetical machines horribly no matter how conscious and intelligent they are because they'll have the excuse of "it's just a robot".
Thank you for saying her name because my brain has been re arranging it to "Chechnya" this whole time and I've spent longer than i care to admit scratching my head trying to figure out why a Black female rapper from the UK would name herself after a semi-autonomous Soviet Republic 😅
Straight man here, and I absolutely LOVE your videos! My fiancée showed me some female rappers like Doechii and GloRilla while on a road trip a few weeks ago and it was an absolute blast. Now I gotta mention Ceechyna to her. 😂
I coined the term "Gender Agnostic" a couple years ago, 'cause there's something there, but I dunno I'm not really buying into anything limited at this point.
when she said i got him 6 feet deep like kevin and i aint leaving that B no flowers that line always gets me 😭😭😭😭 i love her and last laugh is everything too
@ArethaFrankly when she said it I had to go back and make sure I heard right when I tell you I cackled and cackled when she said that you would have thought I was unhinged 🤣🤣🤣😭😂😭🥴🥴
I think it's so important to note that people conflate "masculinity" with "dominance" and "femininity" with "submission" and assume these are the only two options, a patriarchal idea (or misuse/misunderstanding of BDSM terminology). This rapper has clearly a strong and intimidating presence AND has feminine energy. Some people probably think she's subverting gender roles, but there is nothing inherently contradictory about her expression. I'm a trans man, while I am definitely masculine, I am neither dominant or submissive. I think these labels are over applied in irrelevant contexts anyway. People and relationships don't always fall within these categories, especially when you are queer, but the straights don't have to adhere either. That's all some collective brainwashing!
Here’s the thing. There’s masculine traits and feminine traits that everyone has. And masculine doesn’t mean “men” and feminine doesn’t mean “women”. Traditionally the words were created because they believed men should only function from masculine traits and women should only function with feminine traits. It’s hard to be human if you only function with one of them. Domination is a masculine trait. But just because it’s masculine it doesn’t mean it’s a “man” thing. Women can have masculine traits like domination as well. Femininity /Feminine traits and Masculinity/Masculine Traits don’t limit to one gender.
Hip Hop kayefabe strikes again. I think misandry is a thing. I think there are some women who hate men, but 95% the time when someone says that terms ist some bull💩. And I've never heard the word matriarchy used by anyone except an incel or submissive
Good to see you here Fiq. I've been feeling a similar way for some time. Like yeah some women do hate men or go a bit harsh on the rhetoric, but it's a very small minority and a lot of offended dudes throw misandry and matriarchy around waaaay too loosely and incorrectly, often when they're having big feels at the lightest pushback. Maybe these dudes could stand to try to understand where the pushback is coming from, and if they do run in to the rare woman online or IRL who does just have a red hot hatred for men, well maybe also try to understand what got her to that point since I doubt she woke up one morning and said "I think I'll hate men today. That sounds like a fun thing to do.", but also recognize her hatred doesn't impact their life and that they can just walk away or block them online and move on being the kind of man women won't beef with or hate.
I think that there are women that hate men in ways that are prejudiced, but the problem I have is that the term "misandry" makes it seem like it is comparable with misogyny, when it's not. Misandry isn't an ingrained part of society, it doesn't exist as part of a system of oppresion akin to sexism and the patriarchy, it doesn't have institutional and systemic support that misogyny does. Like there are no recorded cases of a society where men have been completely excluded from the political and social spheres, even in matriarchal societies. I do belive "misandry" exists, although I don't think that nowdays the term can separated of the extensive use it's been given in the manosphere, at least not in any meaningful way. [Edit: fixed a typo. And I'd add that I think discussions of "misandry" in online spaces (if it exists or not, etc), specially when talking about the way young men get radicalized into the alt right serve, at least in part, to distract from the core issue that is mainstream white femenism failures to include how men get hurt by sexism in any meaningful way, even though it has been covered extensively even in more intersectional spaces (Hook's The Will To Change came out two full decades ago y'all).
@@bloomnightsa lot of men are convinced that men and women are equally awful and capable of the same violence and systemic oppression. Some Men truly believe that women have more rights than men, can’t tell you how many men I’ve argued with over just that.
Honestly, if you’re making men mad who never done anything wrong then you’re beginning shit with us and before you say, why can’t girls do it? I think men should stop making misogynist and put in sexist things and rap songs about women. I think men should stop doing the same thing and women should too stop putting misandry things against men so if y’all wanna continue to purposely make men mad don’t get upset when they lose they cool and end up doing something cause that’s gonna be some of y’all own fault if you want to be an asshole and just make men mad on purpose now I can see why if you’re doing it to the men that is sexist that is misogynist cause those men deserve it sure roast those men and make those men mad, but don’t do it to the men who is innocent people, and who have never done anything wrong based off the because they are men
My friends and I did a watch party of the first season of Our Flag Means Death, and there is an episode focusing around a happy widows club. Several women, all widows, thriving, happy, doing things with their lives they couldn't before, admitting they are happier their husbands are ded. And all us girlies at the watch party, we could feel what was happening before the show explained this happy widows club, and we cheered, we loved it. All the dudes in the room, they just turn their heads toward us, slowly, feeling some type of way, maybe a little afraid. I'm imagining the same type of fear, vibe, from dudes listening to these bars.
Straight women love to say this sort of stuff in order to pretend to be edgy badass misandrists of whatever, but ultimately they go home to their male partners and the safety of heterosexuality. Its the epitome of safe posturing lol
I'm not familiar with Ceechyna, but I'm gonna have to look her up after this. Not professionally, but I am a Domme, and I can confirm that a lot of men are very into such things. The percentage of men who like Dommes is much higher than many might assume.
I think leaving aside the gendered boxing, all of us want to feel cared for and in a safe environment and/or free of the burdens of having to decide everything for ourselves. I'm glad to see so many people are willing to switch things up. I wish it wasn't limited to the bedroom though, but for that we have to get rid of patriarchy ig
It’s really not so unbelievable IMO. The psychology of a person (typically feminine) who’s disempowered in their day-to-day finding solace by domming in the bedroom is the other side of the coin to a person (typically masculine) who’s expected and pushed by society to “””lead”””, be in charge, etc. That’s just my $0.02. I haven’t researched this in depth.
As a straight man, I love watching these videos, because I'm horrendously out of touch and just re-enacting Korath the Pursuer in _Guardians of the Galaxy_ saying "Who?" every time. (also I didn't know Megan Thee Stallion was a nerd and weeb before listening to her music, the first time she mentioned Luffy from _One Piece_ I about fell out of my chair)
It’s interesting because in the findom space there’s actually a lot of trans/non gender defined individuals who make a lot of money. There’s something about the “taboo” I guess that sparks people’s curiosity
I've never heard of this rapper and I'm Black Brit-ish (born & raised in UK). However, I'm firmly in my misandrist era, it'll probably last forever tbh and I'm definitely going to look into supporting this rapper!
I love how she uses a threesix mafia lyric about drugging women and flips it on men. She’s pointing out how aggressive male rap has been in such a beautifully obvious way
Not the kind of rap I normally listen to, but I love what she's doing and I hope she gets her bag. Also clocked she was a nerd with the Phineas & Ferb ref and the anime "noblewoman's laugh" that plays in the beginning of her songs. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
You need to cover the OG imo of this female led rap subgenre emerging.. ALL PRAISE BIGKL!T 🙏shes been doing this type aggressive rap but 100x harder and angrier and she gets me through the worst of times!
Because that’s what patriarchy does. It says that men should be dominant and women should be feminine. It associated because patriarchy wants it to be.
I feel like masculine and feminine energies are not gender, its just the 2 polar opposites needed to create everything, so both energies are involved in everything. Men and women have both masculine and feminine energy in them, and a woman can be masculine and dominant. A person can be feminine and dominant, but that doesn't come from the feminine energy. It just means that person is able to balance their & use both their feminine and masculine energies. But that's just what I think at this point 🤷🏻♀️
As a long time goth and punk, I'm not in the part of the internet that this has blown up but now I'm gonna search for that right now and I haven't even listened to the original
As a straight black man I absolutely adore your videos and love what you're doing. You share topics and perspectives that I love to see being discussed. No matter what gender or sexuality, just as a black person it's hard not to find you engaging. I still relate to you and love how you represent. What you're doing is important and I'm sure it reaches all types of black people around the globe ❤
Is that a Toni Morrison poster in the background? Just finished my third Morrison book, “Song of Solomon,” for a book club I’m in and she’s quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. You put me onto her when you uploaded your video about “The Bluest Eye” so I have you to thank for this!!!!!
I always ask myself if legislation is being made (or whether it can be) to target a group of people, simply for being a part of that group. This way it becomes clear really fast that misogyny and misandry are not the same. One is about having rights taken away arbitrarily. The other is about having your personal feelings hurt.
I look at characters (some singers, movie stars, etc) and the people behind them the same way I look at kpop idols. It's manufacturing personalities and aesthetics for sales and clicks, versus the people behind them that clock in and out for another day to sell that personality and aesthetic. There is always a difference that can be seen(most of the time if you look with the proper eyeballs) If Ceechynaa is working the formula, good on her! ♥
Men literally have gotten top careers from shaming the women in their own community, by over-the top ego stroking lyrics that will be repeated by arrogant men to silence girls and women. Im looking at you, snoop dogg 🥱
I am conflicted. I love the sexual freedom and confidence she is showcasing even at a very young age. I think that confidence in art can be inspiring particularly for other young girls. I enjoy all types of rap and grime girlies so understand that there should be a range of music/style/topics/aesthetics. So far I don't think Ceechyna's music is for me but I understand virality and this could just be a character that extends her art maybe similar to a Stefflon who I enjoy. I would also suggest people try listening to other UK female artists like ENNY and Little Simz for balance. I do sometimes think that people aren't getting a varied diet culturally/musically. I mean I'll read books and listen to Cardi on a Tuesday and switch to Simz on Thursday. But I understand it's all entertainment. I also don't think this is just a gendered discussion - For example I find it interesting that an artist like Central Cee is popular abroad but I'm coming to realise how great his marketing/brand is and his music seems really digestible and fun to many people. Anyway I hope the best for Ceechyna and look forward to seeing how she grows as an artist.
Thank you for advertising the second channel! A video would pop up occasionally on my front page with your face in the thumbnail, but then I'd go to look for it later on your main channel and would be incredibly confused when I couldn't find it 😂
When I heard her song on IG, I just had to hear it in full. I wound up checking her entire video collection and posting about "Peggy" on Bluesky. A friend who lives in UK now is getting her life to her music. That's how you know she is going to make waves. U.K.'s answer to Megan thee Stallion image-wise.
“She’s a baddie. She’s lightskinned…” Yep. No lie, this is cute, but I could listen to Cupcakke or Baby Tate. Just wary of a lightskinned/mixed/racially ambiguous version of a dark skinned female rapper who already exists. It’s not Ceechyna herself, necessarily, but how society and the industry will treat her by comparison.
@@taylork7530 are light skinned women not allowed to make music without being compared to a dark skinned woman? There’s enough room for everyone. It’s one thing if she’s a known colorist but we don’t know that so it’s safe to assume she’s creatively expressing her life.
When you’re hyper aware it’s wild. The Ice Spice Effect. Even the Sarah Bartman Effect. You start to realize that the internet runs by the same rules minstrel shows and Tyler Perry’s Madea series had. At a certain point, you squint your eyes enough and realize the “spectacle” driving the numbers comes largely from white folks getting to see things they, otherwise, wouldn’t get to see within their own homes and cultures. When Ice Spice twerks in concert, a Gen A kid crying gyatt feels like he got access to seeing something he doesn’t see in his suburb. Same thing when Sexyy Red shows up to a frat party. It’s been so interesting watching people feel like they can gain access to our culture, bodies, etc. through commodification. The way that people turned on Ice Spice (for her appearance and not her personality) is a perfect example
@@Theonlysloooooan You need not be a colorist to benefit from colorism. The biggest benefactor of colorism besides Beyoncé and Rihanna has to be Zendaya. She literally is the epitome of Aretha’s “beautiful gowns” quote, but her skin color awards her opportunities that none of her dark skinned female peers could ever get with a similar level of talent. Riddle me this: would Zendaya had experienced anywhere near the same level of bigotry and misognoir as Francesca Amewudah-Rivers if she had played Juliet instead? 😐 Follow up: would Tom had actually gone out of his way to publicly defend Zendaya, when he was remote silent for Francesca?
This channel makes me feel like I'm home and getting closer to who I am. I love the messages you share and teach and the community you are creating. I am truly looking forward to your journey.
Well, yesterday was the first time I got straight up asked by a girl, "Are you fucking gay?" I said no and she was like, "I was acting all cutesy and shit around you, you didn't notice?" And I was like "what?" And I suddenly realized she's talking in a different tone now and I kind of liked it. She sounded mature and idk why she sounded more elegant. She called me weird and left but yea that got me to wonder why women feel the need to act like all cutesy and stuff when just speaking normally makes them sound so much more cool and fun... Your video has given me some new insights that I am the problem here... I find women with authority attractive and well, thank you for that... P.S. also Female metal and rock vocalist make me happy. Idk maybe I like women screaming at me🤣
The new singer of Linkin Park is a woman who can sing and scream so well. Her songs are such a bop. Also check out In This Moment for a female metal singer.
Maria Brink is my fav. In This Moment is my favourite band. As for Emily Armstrong, I'll be honest, her voice felt a bit more experimental in the latest album, I am hoping to hear more LP projects, in this one I feel like she was getting used to the LP sound and is still trying to carve out her identity in all of this. Yes she's an amazing vocalist I'd love to hear her solo projects too... But as far as the latest LP album goes, there's a bit more to be desired... I'm confident their next album is gonna be fire as fuck.
I discovered Cupcakke just last year and she very quickly became one of the top musical artists of all time for me, when previously I was like "I don't like rap" ... so imagine my reaction to Ceechynaa LOOOL So glad artists like these are getting the spotlight. tysm for covering this, I don't use Tiktok so I'm completely oblivious to what happens there lol
I can't help being a bit sad when i think about artists like her. It's really indicative of a patriarchal culture that a young intelligent woman objectifies herself for the sake of effective marketing. I do appreciate the sort of pushback towards our culture that her lyrics exemplifies but I also wonder weather her outward performance reinforces the patriarchal and objectifying tendencies that give attention to it, that make it effective marketing. Unrelated: I'm a straight guy and I have several bisexual female friends who have basically given up on dating men. Like all the fucking horror stories I have heard about how men have treated them are just fucking absurd. The bar is in hell.
I LOVE what you're saying about gender labels. I've always felt so uncomfortable with labels both of MY gender AND sexuality. And the weird thing about my resistance to labels is that I don't get included in queer communities??? It's a very weird thing. My lack of identifying with any one name, both straight cis people and queer people erase me lol. I genuinely think it's a human thing to love labels and boxes, and I exist so far outside that, that both groups don't want me to exist ? I honestly and truly have to try not to think about it too much because I get sad being this excluded and misunderstood when I feel like I'm not really different from anyone else, and I can empathize with such a huge array of people, and they so seldom can do the same for me.

Misogyny kills, misandry hurts feelings.
Put this on a t shirt NOW!!!
@@Kris-lj7lq I need this on a poster

Misandry is like reverse racism. Yes, women being mean about men might hurt some fee fees, but it doesn't cause them institutional harm.
There’s no such thing as either of those things. And why should we care about their fee fees when they have never cared about ours?
They both don’t exist !

I may be wrong and I am saying this very loosely, but I think women relate to the songs because it's much easier for the oppressed to want to just become the oppressor. it's the awareness of a lack of power and the acknowledgment that the only form of power that is manifested is the one acted on by the oppressor.

I don't know why but I cackled.
People are like "it's role reversal as a statement on women" and I'm just like "ok but it's hot tho."
Glad female on male grape is good to you.

Misandry is as big an issue as white people experiencing racism 😂

Khadija’s British accent rapping is spot on haha well done! #NotJustMenAnyoneReally
P.S. We love a bit of using the Sociology degree!
Sociology Khadija is my favourite Khadija. (Along with all the other Khadijas.)
I'm trying to get into this space as a black queer woman lol
I've never heard of this rapper and I'm Black Brit-ish (born & raised in UK). However, I'm firmly in my misandrist era, it'll probably last forever tbh and I'm definitely going to look into supporting this rapper!
"I'm firmly in my misandrst era" girll sameee 😂
Same. And I’m American so I’m getting my concealed carry license lolz
I love how she uses a threesix mafia lyric about drugging women and flips it on men. She’s pointing out how aggressive male rap has been in such a beautifully obvious way
She and shygirl need to collab!!!!
@@PurpleMonkeySox so so so so so so so so real
OMG YES
Not the kind of rap I normally listen to, but I love what she's doing and I hope she gets her bag. Also clocked she was a nerd with the Phineas & Ferb ref and the anime "noblewoman's laugh" that plays in the beginning of her songs. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
You need to cover the OG imo of this female led rap subgenre emerging.. ALL PRAISE BIGKL!T 🙏shes been doing this type aggressive rap but 100x harder and angrier and she gets me through the worst of times!
OMG HOW DID I FORGEG ABOUT BIGKL!T?? BRB rediscovering her entire discog 🙏💯

Why is the dominant energy associated with patriarchy tho, anyone can be dominant. You can be feminine and dominant too!
Exactly what I was thinking
Because that’s what patriarchy does. It says that men should be dominant and women should be feminine. It associated because patriarchy wants it to be.
exactly!! it’s called femdom for a reason :)
Then what is being feminine then?
I feel like masculine and feminine energies are not gender, its just the 2 polar opposites needed to create everything, so both energies are involved in everything. Men and women have both masculine and feminine energy in them, and a woman can be masculine and dominant. A person can be feminine and dominant, but that doesn't come from the feminine energy. It just means that person is able to balance their & use both their feminine and masculine energies. But that's just what I think at this point 🤷🏻♀️
8:29 She actually did say that on her twitter account!! She talked about possibly making a new youtube account just to talk about her doll collection.
I'd tune into that hella quickkkkk
I got a suggestion for this right before that was "ceechynas peggy but its goth"
As a long time goth and punk, I'm not in the part of the internet that this has blown up but now I'm gonna search for that right now and I haven't even listened to the original

We’re having similar struggles when it comes to women rappers. It’s nice to see others have questions and concerns as well.
"That's something I'm gonna be thinking about for a while, butfornowimmashakemyass." Is such a mood anytime I listen to rap in general 😩 Felt that fr
I’m soo healthily obsessed 🥰
As a straight black man I absolutely adore your videos and love what you're doing. You share topics and perspectives that I love to see being discussed. No matter what gender or sexuality, just as a black person it's hard not to find you engaging. I still relate to you and love how you represent. What you're doing is important and I'm sure it reaches all types of black people around the globe ❤
you can’t relate actually.
Sorry this is unrelated but i love the contrast of Khadija's eyebrows and hair. Like I want to see that style more. It looks perfect on her
Is that a Toni Morrison poster in the background? Just finished my third Morrison book, “Song of Solomon,” for a book club I’m in and she’s quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. You put me onto her when you uploaded your video about “The Bluest Eye” so I have you to thank for this!!!!!
I always ask myself if legislation is being made (or whether it can be) to target a group of people, simply for being a part of that group. This way it becomes clear really fast that misogyny and misandry are not the same. One is about having rights taken away arbitrarily. The other is about having your personal feelings hurt.
the fact ceechynaa is nigerian makes me love her even more!!
i am your demographic - the girl, the gay, and the they.
Men have been talking about women like this literally since the dawn of time. Therefore, not only is it ok, it’s owed!
Men literally have gotten top careers from shaming the women in their own community, by over-the top ego stroking lyrics that will be repeated by arrogant men to silence girls and women. Im looking at you, snoop dogg 🥱
I love how chaotically organised this thumbnail is. Fave one of the orange era so far
Looking forward to the inevitable second-channel-becomes-main-channel transformation that happens with all my favorite youtubers
Lmao too real
It's truly the move of 2025 😂
1:09 yes. Very much so.
@OLD.GREASE Yes Please & Thank You
Thank you for advertising the second channel!
A video would pop up occasionally on my front page with your face in the thumbnail, but then I'd go to look for it later on your main channel and would be incredibly confused when I couldn't find it 😂
TikTok is about to be real different when we’re cut off in America on the 19th. And a lot of the rap girls rely on TikTok it will effect them.
True but It might be peaceful for awhile *I’m joking*.
OI MATE!!!! has been in my head rent free for over a month now
she is sooooO FUN!
I love her idc she's funny and confidence. I love how she also never rushes to release music and takes her time.
Your friend sounds awesome.
Omg I just looked up Thot Squad, I’m obsessed.
Jk I take my meds ❤
“She’s a baddie. She’s lightskinned…”
Yep.
@@Theonlysloooooan It doesn’t matter if she’s a colorist, she still benefits from colorism and we’re gonna acknowledge that
@@Theonlysloooooan You need not be a colorist to benefit from colorism.
😐
Follow up: would Tom had actually gone out of his way to publicly defend Zendaya, when he was remote silent for Francesca?
🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
This channel makes me feel like I'm home and getting closer to who I am. I love the messages you share and teach and the community you are creating. I am truly looking forward to your journey.
Lol, soebody called her Innit Thee Stallion and I cannot unsee the resemblance.
Well, yesterday was the first time I got straight up asked by a girl, "Are you fucking gay?"
I said no and she was like, "I was acting all cutesy and shit around you, you didn't notice?" And I was like "what?" And I suddenly realized she's talking in a different tone now and I kind of liked it.
My fav female lead singer rock band rn is Wednesday the singer can really screeeamm its wonderful if u need a new band to check out :)
Pausing to listen to her singles and get caught up, be right back.

The opposite of patriarchy is egalitarianism. Thanks for the video!
I discovered Cupcakke just last year and she very quickly became one of the top musical artists of all time for me, when previously I was like "I don't like rap"
... so imagine my reaction to Ceechynaa LOOOL
So glad artists like these are getting the spotlight.
tysm for covering this, I don't use Tiktok so I'm completely oblivious to what happens there lol
Thank you, Cpr had me cackling 😂
MEGAN THEE STALLION IS A HUGE NERD! Her episode of She Hulk is THE BEST.
As one of your straight male audience, i just want to say how much i appreciate your stuff!
So I legit just don't talk about this almost ever. SO thank you for talking about it! I feel seen c:
🎉❤
Sorry if you don't mind me asking, have you faced the same discrimination among non binary umbrella/genderqueer folks? I'm non binary myself but I want people to feel welcomed
@@lordtette I would say that of all groups, non-binary, trans, and bi/pan people are the most accepting of me, and who I have the most validating conversations about this with on average. Also those who identify simply as "queer" and don't always feel the need to explain further than that lol
I need a shirt or patch that says “nonbinary evangelist”
