It was awesome until Johnny and June chime in and mess up the lyrics (although Goober got his part right), but Joe took it in stride. Great video---what a treasure this is to see all these years later. My favorite Joe South song!
Pretty bad, Joe had to sing this in Johnny's key F when Joe recorded it in G..and then they did not bother to learn the lyrics before they sang it......very much a sad day for Joe South and his great song...
@@victorlutes2465Actually Victor, Joe could play VERY well, thank you. And yes it does make a difference if you can't even sing the song in the right key. Please show the guest respect singing the song correctly. Johnny and June were known as singers and musicians so they should have learned the right key and lyrics before they started their show. Lindsey (Goober) may have sang his part flat, but at least he knew his lyrics.
Joe South had a much better voice than Johnny Cash had. Joe's was so smooth. I think June was such a "Professional", huh? Such a lovely song and her and Johnny ruined Joe's time. Pretty sad when "Goober" does a better job than Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, huh? Joe looked so cute here I must say. He was such a great guitarist!!

An appreciation of how much Johnny Cash admired Joe South and his music. A great collaboration. Many thanks for the upload.
Goober sings!!
Love it !
Shame Carter/Cash messed up the lyric it was such a nice
At least we know they weren't lip syncing.
Wow this is nice.
It’s clearly Joe had some fun since you can hear him laughing richt after @1:54
