Because south Esat Asians are related to western Indians what people call in fact that they are counted in the same genetic group in many DNA companies. She has 95% west Indians natives DNA active on her then she has 5% active European but she doesn't have any active African DNA at all.

She is a wonderful mix, but she doesn't look 50% SE Asian. Instead, she looks more so, Native American & much Iberian. She also carries some African & other European DNA too. She's so lovely & has a pretty smile. She's a real interesting & colourful mix indeed.

Being Latina, it’s hard to “claim” any race even after a DNA test. Found out I’m 46% East Asian and Native American, 15% African, 24% European, and 10% unknown. Can I say I’m black?? Or Native American? If all my family know is that they are from Honduras and that they speak Spanish lol!?? :’)

I don’t see the African, although, she has a large percentage. She looks more Asian than anything. I don’t think DNA is always reflected in physical features.

You have to go to 3000 years ago. This was the time where race were pure. But its difficult. Costly. And almost impossible to calibrate the test on ancestors of 3000 years ago
So they act as if your ancestors of 200-500 years ago is your real dna for the $$$$$$ 😂 and you cant sue them. There is no regulation. They even say that errors are possible & the precision of their test isnt guaranteed
Mathew Van Ostin race was never pure 3,000 years ago, their is no such thing as race. These are regional biological tracking of different make ups of genetic variation going across region form region. As you can see Europe as a whole has various genetic distinctions as does every continent.

Also 3,000 years ago you have foreign invaders intrude delta region of Egypt from the Near East, all these instances lead to some form of extensive gene flow or minimal. Not to mention the migrations from Central Asia into Europe which also concluded around that time, and the Near Eastern infilitration in Sothern Europe, which is the main reasons Southern Europe and Northern Europe differ in gene components. Not to mention through the history of the African continent populations and groups have been mixing over 60,000 years. There is no such thing as purity from a human evolutionary standpoint. The only point in human history where one can argue that is during the very beginning.
All variation is nothing more than subset mutations of the founder lineage they come from, hence all human genetic variation in make up come from a single source population if you trace it back either enough. For instance, let's say my cousin went on and populated Europe, while I stayed behind and populated the Near East. My cousin goes on and has children of his own and these children end up giving rise to modern European populations. At the end of the day he is my cousin we are related through the same grand parent. The variation is all related some are downstream mutations passed on from a founder lineage. So the genes you see are basically family oriented. Its a family tree of sorts.
Swedish lady's Iberian shows up because of the Visigoths that came to Spain. Visigoths were originally from Sweden. This is why nearly all Iberians also show some Scandinavian. No surprise there.

This is very true & you're very smart, but when it comes down to her DNA results, this doesn't weigh up. Current DNA results only go back approx 500 yrs, so she would have had more recent & direct Iberian ancestors. They'd have to have lived within the last 500 yrs. The Visigoths go back way too far, to be directly related to her/her ancestors.

Spain was the union of two kingdoms, Castile in the West and Aragon in the East. The former kingdom of Aragon included part of Italy and Greece. A lot of Spanish descendent show in their dna tests Italian/Greece/South Europe admixture. And Iberian Peninsula belonged to the Roman Empire, that's another reason to find Italian dna in Spanish descendent.
I stopped trying to explain that... basic European history.
If you see Iberian dna next to any other Mediterranean nations you can just add the percentage to Iberian (that goes for North and South of the Med).

When Ida showed the old photos of her ancestors I had to pause the video and take my laptop with me to the living room because we have a photo hanging there which resembles that man so much! Maybe we are related... buuut then again Sweden is quite a small country so that might not be so shocking :)
She also showed a picture that looked a lot like my great-great grandmother but we are not Swedish (I have had my DNA done and I am 82% Scottish).

Well basically it comes down to the fact that only is DNA inherited randomly but also traits, so someone who is 80% SS African 20% European can look as white as someone who is 35% vs 65% (I've seen such cases xD)
PrettyGurl12361 phenotype matches genotype unless its an autosomally recessive mutation and you only have one copy. But I get what you are trying to say. There are many possibilities as far as phenotype goes when a person is mixed because so many different possible genotypes are present

That's so interesting. I've read news a couple of years ago (perhaps in Scientific American) that most "native Americans" came from Mongolia, either walking by the Bering Strait or navigating northward close to the east coast of Asia and then -through Bering- and then southwards the west coast of North America. But population geneticists have also found recently that some, few, "native Americans" also came from Polynesia (navigating eastwards) and located mostly in the Amazon basin.
I paused it in the middle and I’m guessing the young lady with the dark hair looks like she has some Filipino and/or some southeast Asian. I would not have guessed Colombian.

Quite a lot of latin Americans, especially Peruvians and Bolivians are 100 percent native American. But many Latin Americans also have dna from different parts of every continent.

@Jamila Mila That' a myth. Spaniards are a very homogeneous group regardless of the region. Usually we look the med type, but around 15-20% of us are more central european, while around 5% look kinda jewish/berber.

In the Balkans and Ukraine, there are a lot of Turkish heritage, especially in Albania (Bulgaria used to have a lot of Turks, but after the Cold War, they came to turkey) In Russia, there is a lot of Finno-Ugric Altaic heritage and also a lot of Asian Mongol heritage. (Makes sense as Finnic peoples are originally from Northern Mongolia)

However, you used the word "Arabs". This is incorrect. The Arab haplogroup (Arabian peninsula) is different from the North African Mahgrebi haplogroup. Even though they are similar, they are different.

The DNA tests results are so interesting and honestly changed my perspective on things....I got mine done because my family reunions are so mixed but once I got my results it made sense why. My results were 19% Ivory Coast/Ghana, 16% Nigeria, 15% Great Britain, 12% Southeastern Bantu, 12% Europe West, 9% Benin/Togo, 7% Cameroon/Congo, 3% Senegal, 3%Scandinavia, 2% Polynesia, and trace amounts of Mali, Asia South, Asia Central, and Ireland/Scotland/Wales.....I was pretty surprised by my results.

Columbia has a large African diaspora population from slavery days. So people in the Americas tend to have mixed heritages .
I guessed Silvia to be African/Asian/Native American with very small amount of European. I was surprised to see no Asian. Ida was easier to guess and I went mostly Scandanavian. Good luck to the both of you.

My mum and I both did the Ancestry DNA test, roughly 6 months apart. It showed that she has twice as many matches as I do since more English, ScotsIrish and Scandinavians have done the test than have Eastern Europeans (three of those with Eastern European descent who have come up as related/matches to me are two my paternal 2nd cousins and our mutual great-uncle all of whom I have met before )
28% native American isn't really that high. I've seen peruvians who are 100 native on ancestry, also the average Mexican is around 50% native American.

T'lan Imass no they partly East asian. Mostly on the maternal side. The rest is from a population called ANE but that dosen’t exist as a group today, expect they did leave a trail in populations like the native americans and northen europeans.
Seeing how specific the results are I've ordered one of those ancestry DNA tests.

I'm sorry but she doesn't really look that asian to me. Her facial features aren't asian neither are her eyes that much , she just has epicanthic folds, and that's found in many non Asians plus she wears korean style makeup. The shape is still not that asian. In fact , I can definitely see the black African in her cheekbones , nose , and lips . Theres many Colombian girls who look like her. . She looks nothing like any full blooded asian I've seen , she looks half at best. If you look at her updated DNA video, you would understand what I'm talking about.

I did my dna too and knew that I am mixed African and Arab (for context I am from Sudan). I came out to be 53% Arab 23% Bantu. A surprise because the current Bantu are in South Africa but apparently originally were in the middle of Africa but were driven to South Africa by wars in the 18th century. So we are related - citizens of the world and descendants of Eve.
I did the 23andme test. Wasnt to suprised on mine. Largely german, british, irish with a couple other things tossed in there. I like the kit I got cause you also get traits and can get health too.

I have done both Ancestry and 23andMe, and I have some Scandinavian but mostly English and German. My son-in-law is mostly native American and Iberian. We are all a big family, no?
Mine would most likely be mainly Dutch and Scandinavian (Norway/Denmark/Sweden), But thinking about what I may have in me, there may be some British, Greek or Persian in me to a minor extent. I never tested though. Just based up on the family tree and history regarding those areas and other knowledge that may add me to those lesser regions

For Ida.. One possibility for Iberia is that many of the survivors of the 1588 defeat of the Spanish Armada ended up in Ireland/Scotland where there were mixings with Scandanavians

I did my ancestry dna test today, I put it in my mailbox. My grandma was from Denmark. Sweden and Denmark and Norway are Scandinavian countries.

The girl on the right said her largest percent was Native American by far at 28%, however, her largest percent is in fact African at 35%.
Her largest percentage is Europe, then Africa and then Native American.

When they are older and once others called them ma'am it's a indication that they respect you as a adult! I have gotten that from few people on a recent job with the Postal Services seasonal work (MHA) Mail Handler Assistant. I felt a bit different because I do not get that often! I usually felt young when I'm around people close to my age or older! I also like to look and feel attractive for my age!

It did zero in on Colombia in the map picture for Native American tho; like you said and i have heard genealogists say, people who are Latin American often have a mix of Native American (bc obviously they have inhabited all of the Americas), Spanish, and sometimes African. So i think it still said you are mostly Colombian. I also think 23andme has more specific results but some people said that AncestryDNA has been updated too, all around super fascinating. I didn't expect it to zero in on a region like that.

When a substance is diluted (in this case blood),to the lowest % compared with other regions,the diluted atom seeks to imprint it's own characteristics on the surrounding molecules. This is why some people say I have only 2% Italian yet I Iove Italian food and culture with a puzzled look on their faces. So forget the high % and look at the lowest for it is more likely to be an influence on your character.

Chanise Thomson it's not always the case some white people have dominant genes it depends on the individual. Maybe you just have dominant genes. DNA is like rolling dice it's very unproductive.
