Green Heron Juvies - lens test footage

Being an RF100-500 owner, I, like many others, struggled with whether to get the new RF200-800 or simply get a 1.4x extender. After going through the pros and cons list ad nauseam I eventually bought an extender last winter. However, this summer I worked on a video project about Pied-billed Grebes and discovered that their nests were always at least 500 feet from shore - too far for the 100-500 + !.4 extender, so I rented the 200-800 for a weekend. But I got rained out the entire weekend... bummer.
Fast forward to last week when I was working on a video project about Green Heron Juveniles which were always at least 200-250 feet away - too far for the 100-500 + !.4 extender, so I rented the 200-800 for this past 4-day long weekend. Well, to make this story short, I was so darn impressed with this lens that I bought it. It turns out that our local camera store here in Ottawa had one at their Toronto branch. They transferred it here and I got it today.
My experience with the lens:
Weight:
It's not nearly as heavy or tiring as I expected. I lugged it around last Sunday for a total of 5 kilometres with no problems.
Sharpness:
For both stills and video it's incredibly sharp (see samples below). My one main question and concern was how does it perform with a 1.4x extender? Is it sharp at 800mm plus the extender for a total of 1120mm? The answer is a resounding yes! Since I already had the 1.4x I had no real desire or need to use the 200-800 by itself, for me the big thing was, it is any good with an extender. Well when I saw with my own eyes just how good (sharp) this puppy is with the extender it was a done deal.
