I own 2015 Macan Turbo. Best Macan ever. Maybe the best every day Porsche ever.... 5 seats, super smooth for every day drive... and Sport Plus magic button which turns it into a 280 km/hour bullet. Priceless.
Brian...I just wanted to say I thought your review was very well done and very professional. I have watched and read thousands of reviews on all types of cars (typically cars amongst the luxury market) and yours was one of the very best I have come across. Great work and I look forward to your upcoming posts. Thanks, Jarrod
Thanks, Jarrod! We really appreciate the feedback. If you like Porsches, we're covering another one in tomorrow's film, the 911 Targa, and we'll soon be testing the Macan S, which I think might just be the Macan of choice for North America.
Lovely Car, hope you guys get the Turbo Diesel as it's excellent and the cheapest version too !!! Over $102k and there are 4 Blank Buttons around the gearstick, that would really pee me off !!! How much to spec it to have no Blank Buttons ?? !! I'm asking as you're a Porsche Guy !!!
I test drove a Turbo and noticed that brake pedal feel as well, it was disappointing. I tried to explain it away to myself, but hearing you comment on it makes me think I was right.
Brian Makse I'm definitely not from a racing background, though I wish I was! I've been fortunate enough to have had a few sports cars and GTs, including a 991 C2S, so by now I should probably have a decent idea of what good brakes feel like. The Macan Turbo's brakes felt incredibly vague on initial application, muddy and slow to engage right up until they bit, but the travel to that point did not feel smooth and progressive. You make a good point, how did this flaw of the car slip by unnoticed?
I spoke to a Porsche engineer (responsible for other product, not Macan) and he said he noted the same thing with the brakes, but couldn't explain why it happened. My guess is that pedal feel will get remedied quickly.
If you where to choose among the macan s and the m3, which one would you pick as your daily driver. I know they are two different type of cars, but I am just wondering.
I dident really like this car the way it looked but, it now Im starting to like it :). Did you see a lot driving around Le Mans because in the tunnel near the Dunlop bridge there was a lot in there?
Thanks for the review, i just picked on up last week, best SUV i have ever had by far. Its not as fun as my old cayman S, but not many cars are. Brakes feel pretty good in mine.
Which roads have you tested the macan on? I noticed the road around the Pearson airport :) which roads would you suggest me to go for a good stretch to accelerate the car to a good 200km/h without getting booked by the police here in Toronto? Let me know :)
It directly competes with the Porsche Macan and the GLK (th-cam.com/video/P6FosfE_Ja0/w-d-xo.html) Would be nice to see a review of the lexus nx F sport.
I have no idea why North Americans are so fixated by the Turbo and the speed when they have generally lower speed limits than Europeans. I suppose it's the culture of having the best even though you'll never use it. In Europe, the best selling version will be the diesel, for economy and torque.

Coming from a racing background, I'm particularly sensitive to brake feel.

steering wheel comes from the 918 spyder.
Yeah, I figured that out when I went for a spin in a 918...

Thank for watching! It's one of my favourite SUVs.

We just filmed some of that near the airport. If you want to go fast, you should try the big track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
+goons123flofy Ha! That's for sure!
Supposedly that's the steering wheel from the 918 Spyder.
It is indeed. I was in a 918 Soyder a couple of weeks after this test.
Review the Lexus NX!
Our producer has, but I have to ask why would you like a review of that one? Seems like a little, slow crossover to me.
