It's not about the atmosphere or any music that makes something special it's the people that make it special
David is pretty open about the fact that there are a lot of scripted skits mixed with authentic reactions. For David's birthday, they gave him scripted content; that was his gift. It was supposed to be quiet so he could make a good 4:20 vlog.
I agree with Jess, but also Jason is showing more of the actual real life side of things too. Even at big parties with friends in real life it’s not always bustling and loud, I’m sure it was the same for them too after the cameras turned off.

David is a Wizard that has an amazing eye for editing and pours over hours of footage to bring you that amazing 4:20 of excitement, entertainment and a glimpse of OZ.
Jason takes you along for the ride, tells you a story for 16:08 and sometimes ...lets us take a peek at the man behind the curtain.
Combined - it's a little over 20 minutes of video. Neither is a complete representation of the party - which probably lasted into the wee hours of the morning...with music (judging from the live band lol). And with all those interesting characters that were there - I have a feeling that there were probably even more insane things happening that may have been too risqué to include in videos lol.
Each one of the Vlog Squad member's brings their own perspective & form of entertainment and add something special while we follow the yellow brick road...

I think the party feels a bit awkward because they can't have background music since so many people are filming they don't want any issues with copyright. It does make the moments of no conversation/no laughing super obvious

I’m guessing Jason more less, like he did with the 80D he used to have, used the built in microphone. However I think, and I’m not but fairly sure, Joe used/uses a Rode-brand mic. Which I think you can use on either camera. If that helps.

Everyone is complaining about how this video shows that davids party was just for show and how this video ruins the hype and makes it look less exciting but I LOVED THIS. The quality, the realness, the friendships. It doesn't seem awkward to me it's just a bit more real. The colors, the flow, the calmness, the love... this might be one of my favorites. We see just a few minutes of their days, you cant honestly be nieve enough to believe they are always wild and crazy and hyped up. Making content that he is proud of and that his fans love is his thing, that's what he wants and that's what they gave him. The quality and editing was great.
I never looked forward to Jason's Behind The Scenes more.
