I need to make a slight correction to the review. I mention stitched game mats in the review. The mats don’t have stitched edges, but they are still fine quality mats. Sorry for any confusion.
WARNING, around 13:25 Mike "accidentally" shows most of the finale cards, that's a big spoiler if you'd like to discover them one by one playing the campaign.
Great review! I've been putting the box on the table without the legs and put the mat on it for the 2nd floor. Makes it feel a little more like a 2nd floor. It does seem flimsy on the legs. Great game, but it's a shame the stand doesn't really work.
So, I agree with most of what Mike says. I am surprised he didn’t mention that the rulebook contains NO. MENTION of solo rules. Sure, it’s a pure co-op, and sure you can multiple characters, but how many? 1, 2, 3? It was ONLY after I got to the finale that there was a modification to the rules for 2 and 3 players... this sort of implies you have to take at least 2 characters to play solo (as there’s no rule for 1 character). Weird, because the box says 1-4 players, so you think the solo rules would be clearer. Also, I didn’t have a problem with the setup of the 2 storiy box. It looks a little rickety but we didn’t have any problems with it either solo or multiplayer. Other than that, I agree with Mike.
I’m wondering if small binder clips on the underside would keep the board from bowing in the middle if you put it on the legs to make two floors. Gonna give that a try tomorrow.
Great review as always Mike! BB1 is my absolute favourite game, and I just picked up BB2 yesterday. After admittedly only one game, my initial assessment is that BB2 is brilliant but not quite as good as its predecessor. In BB1 I liked the thematic play of how sometimes you had to be sneaky and patient to succeed in the heist, whereas In BB2 with the bouncer hunting mechanic it feels more like a fast smash and grab raid. But still loads of fun, and I'll be interested to see if more plays makes me revise this view!
Has the level of luck changed at all? My biggest beef with the original is that you could get three-quarters through a game and end up in a position where you cannot win due to the luck of tile placement and carrying the wrong kind of loot (for example, the one that allows you to be seen from any adjacent space - when the guard has six moves, it's pretty much turn after turn of sitting in one spot waiting to lose). That happens twice and the game tends to spend a lot more time on the shelf.
Great review! TEAM MIKE! But, this felt more positive than the final score given. I guess it seems weird to me to deduct for a purely optional component. Like, if the game not included the box gimmick and simply said to put the two player mats side-by-side in the rules, it would have earned a higher score? That feels a little off to me.
I understand what you’re saying, but I feel like the optional component is basically the “showpiece” component. The one that sets it apart from others. And if you make that the standard set up (which it does), it should work in a functional and pleasing way. I just don’t think that it does, and it therefore (slightly) affected the score.
I agree with both because you can play the game with the floor side by side and that's how is player but I also agree with Mike because they intended to be played mainly and don't work very well but they also warn it's ok to put side by side. So I think you both are right.

So glad you found this title worthy. Makes my decision to back the Kickstarter feel like a good one. Waiting on my copy.
Already have mine. It's fun!
