Guyver is one of the COLDEST animes EVER and should most def be brought back!!! A live action would be GRUESOME wit today's special effects. Those first 12 episodes in '89 were EPIC AMAZING LEGENDARY and should've kept goin!! Hell, at least the '05 anime coulda at least kept goin.
Guyver needs to be done by one of the Japanese tokusatsu studios toa or toho needs to do a live action adaptation. An American studio can't get this right.
It's a shame the creator has no interest what so ever to in any way shape or form to continue the manga. Project was dead long ago. Meaning another anime,another cliff hanger with no ending or you gotta make a tv only ending.
Agreed. I think a fair assessment of Guyver is to say "It is as if Kamen Rider was a lovecraftian horror story", it has lots of body horror, and as it develops it gains a much interesting delve into "Ancient Gods as Aliens". But instead of a simple rethread, if it happens, I'd like it to take a path to adapt and change enough to make it new, because I think if it goes deeper into the lovecraftian mood, either with Mappa, Science Saru or Madhouse. But given enough time and giving animators enough time to work and do their best without any crunch or workload abuse, so it can truly shine. It does deserve a properly done reboot.
At this point after all these years, I'd be fine if the anime ended up having it's own original ending of some sort because it doesn't look like Yoshiki Takaya is going to finish it unfortunately.
At this point it's more of a tech demo than an actual game. It's just a bunch of 3D models with a very limited combat system thrown together in the Unreal engine for demonstrative purposes only.
I would at least want a Blu-Ray rerelease of 90's series. I didn't like the 2000's remake at all, very boring and didn't like the art style. I think an action adventure video game with unreal engine would do well in this day and age.
