I purchased this today at Saks fifth avenue in NYC. After many TH-cam reviews I went in and just blind bought it but the agent was kind enough to give me a free sample spray which I wasn't expecting. The scent was so good and honestly I wanted to hate it. After purchasing it I walked 15 minutes back to the station with my nose pressed against the sample paper. The honey is very dominant but I am not complaining. Thank you for the review.
Wow! When I first sprayed it I said wow this has some texture. It was too loud, and far too masculine for my taste. Then I went back and sprayed it months later and it smelled more incorporated and balanced. And the honey is HONEY; not just sweet. But it’s real honey I really enjoyed that. And I think it’s perfect 50/50. The tobacco is very present to my nose. And there’s this texture to it. I’m not a smoker, but if you’ve smoked it feels like the feeling you get in your throat when you ve smoked for the first time. Such a beautiful well balanced fragrance and it lasts forever and everyone is smelling this. Just my experience. I found it comforting and addictive. So I have a full bottle. Definitely agree is unisex, right on the line of masculine leaning.
@ oh of course. I wasn’t offended or defending the scent; I was just sharing my experience with it. Is your birthday 3/9? Just noticed that behind your name. If so that’s my birthday too! Happy New year.
@@deandrea5724 You can defend the perfume :) I want to hear about others' experiences!! Its part of the channel and my fragrance journey and to be honest I can say that if the right price or deal presented itself I wouldn't be tempted to go for a full bottle of this. I do like the honey in here ALOT !
@@Eloisescents0309 Thank you. Ive been wearing perfume since I was 11. And I was wearing Egyptian musk! LOL! So I understand scent especially is subjective; I love watching/listening to people express their perspectives. So I wouldn't go on someone's channel to defend a perfume. PS I really love that you share sophisticated perfumes that aren't on EVERYONE else's channel.
Thanks Eloise! I'm currently working on a 10ml decant. I really enjoy it. But, for me personally, although I'm into unisex scents I struggle with tobacco note. I liked this a lot and my husband absolutely loved it.
Thank you, I have Chergui and agree with you about not needing a full bottle of Tobacco Honey. Have a sample and it just did not move me, especially at the price they are asking:)) Have a blessed day, always enjoy your articulate reviews.
I tested this in store when it came out and would agree with you about the 75:25 honey to tobacco ratio. It would be fantastic if the balance was 50:50. Thanks for the info on Raw Gold
I was at Neiman Marcus and tried this and thought I loved it. Later, I realized that it’s too masculine on my skin. I did come across another Guerlain fragrance called Joyeuse Tubereuse which is stunning! This will be my next purchase from this house.
I love the way you explain fragrances. Have you tried Initio’s addictive vibration? It’s primarily a honey fragrance as well…and maybe too sweet for your taste. But I’d be curious to know!
Yes, I have a bottle of Papillon Bengal Rouge although I never seem to wear it. The other fragrance I have not tried... I will have to look that up :) Thanks!
Great review as always. I agree with it being way more honey than tobacco, so that was a bit disappointing. I was lucky enough to get a 200ml bottle at a great price, but I’m not sure I’ll ever get through it because it’s much sweeter than I thought it would be and I already have quite a few honey fragrances
Thanks for watching. I do like honey in fragrances. I had two Initio perfumes about a year ago but haven't been into them to be honest. A bit too sweet for me. I didn't even realize they had a honey fragrance. Maybe I will try to get my nose on that one!
I agree this is bold. My nose interprets this as equal parts honey and tobacco. It's not in the background to my nose at all. I only have a 2ml sample and it has lasted me for many wears due to how well it performs on me. I love it, but not enough to buy a bottle as it isn't something I would wear a lot.
Yes, the new bottle. I wish I could get my hands on the older version. There is even a "lipstick" note but thats on fragrantica so who knows!! I watched some videos about the differences that there are some (from what I hear)
💯 I found it too sweet as well. But it does have a pretty realistic honey note to my nose. It feels like they're making these new ones to satisfy the market. Oh, and yes, good alternatives if you like this genre. Thanks
th-cam.com/video/09SFaCl49qg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UOlOWmqBTl1E5qgN Eloise I don’t know if you have even seen this Roja lecture about perfumes but I thought it would be interesting to you. Especially that he talks about the origin of chypre perfumes for women after WW1.
Hi Eloise! Lovely review🌹
Thank you!! Love your content... I watch your videos all the time :)

I am glad you have a full bottle and love it! It is a realistic honey, I agree and like I said, its not a sweetness that I mind. It does smell nice :)

It does smell nice, no doubt! I am glad you and your husband are enjoying it! Thanks for watching!!

Thank you! Yes, that makes sense.... it didn't inspire me to seek out a bottle

I am actually on a bit of a tuberose kick so I will check that one out for sure :) THanks for watching.

Thank you Eloise; enjoyed hearing your thoughts 😉
Thank you :)
Hi Eloise! I own a 100 ml bottle. I love it - just need to hold back on sprays - one does me fine!
Great review. Have you tried Badar Estelle or Papillon Bengal Rogue ? Both great honey fragrances! Both better bang for the buck. Love from London 🙏🏿
Absolutely agree!!
Yes, I have a bottle of Papillon Bengal Rouge although I never seem to wear it. The other fragrance I have not tried... I will have to look that up :) Thanks!
Francesca Bianchi has a honey scent called Tyger Tyger. It’s a really nice scent. Love your content and throughout reviews. ❤
Thank you! I have the Dark Side but I haven't really paid attention to Tyger Tyger. I will take a look :) Thanks for watching
Thanks you for this Eloise. I've been hearing the same things. More tobacco certainly would've been nice.
Thanks for watching!!

If I got a great deal I wouldn't be opposed. It is a nice honey centric fragrance for sure. That is a big size though!! :)
I like honey fragrance, especially Initio Addictive Vibration. How do you feel about the fragrance? Thank you for the video ❤
Thanks for watching. I do like honey in fragrances. I had two Initio perfumes about a year ago but haven't been into them to be honest. A bit too sweet for me. I didn't even realize they had a honey fragrance. Maybe I will try to get my nose on that one!

I like the honey in this one but so far, I feel the same way. Not enough to buy it although if I saw a good deal I might revisit the idea on this one!
Did you get the reformulated version of Raw Gold?
Yes, the new bottle. I wish I could get my hands on the older version. There is even a "lipstick" note but thats on fragrantica so who knows!! I watched some videos about the differences that there are some (from what I hear)

It is a nice, and realistic, honey. I agree. Yes, maybe an effort to be mass appealing.

Thank you so much! I have not seen that lecture but I will look at is. I am definitely interested in in that type of content. thanks:)
