Well, another sweltering hot day at the Hamilton Station! On this 13th day of July, 2008, Amtrak had a few more trains running than expected, which made for some train-after-train-after-train action. In this video compilation, we will see New Jersey Transit ALP46 locomotives pushing and pulling Multilevel cars, New Jersey Transit Arrow III EMUs stopping at and blowing through the station, plus TONS of Amtrak action. The most notable of which would be a rescue train (Look for the individual video, also). A westbound Crescent had a major problem with their HHP-8 (#659), so another HHP-8 (#654) was called in to tow the train to safety.
Also included in this video is the first time that a Trainiac Productions camera was blown off of the tripod! Those NJT Arrow EMUs pick up quite a bit of speed!

Thanks! I believe they go a little under 80 MPH. They have heavy speed restrictions due to crumby ties and now the MOW work to replace them. By 2009, though, I'm sure they'll be going over 110! THEN, these videos will be high-speed!!

Thanks! No, luckily the camera didn't break! It was attached to the tripod with the neck strap, so atleast it didn't fall to the ground. It just dangled back and forth for a second, hitting the tripod. But, I was there so I put it right back on! I had an incident before, with the other camera shown a few times in this video, where I was at West Trenton, NJ on CSX's Trenton Line. I had that camera set up WAY too close to a SB Intermodal. Different story, sorry to say.
    Thanks again!

Wow! Sure looks like you had a full day of exciting filming Sunday.
BTW: I was shocked when your camera fell @ the end . . . only because I hadn't finish reading the description.

Oh, they were pushing I would guess about 40 out of Hamilton, and the whoosh at the end tossed my camera off of the tripod. I have a new tripod, so from now on the whole setup will go down!

NJ Transit: What happened to the Westbound Crescent?
HHP-8 #654: #659 Breaked down, so I went to help!
NJ Transit: Jeez! I feel ya. All Amtrak trains run later than me!
Also, My Tickets aren't honorable on your company!
    HHP-8 #654: It's not?
NJ Transit: No. I only go to Philadelphia, & Midtown, But I don't go to far places like Miami, Harrisburg, Washington, Boston, & Louisiana.
    HHP-8 #654: I do!!

Dirty Dan Official if it's the HHP-8s your talking about, the National Passenger Rail Corporation canceled part of their Acela order and had as similar electric locomotive manufactured for the remaining portion since they had already allocated funding. In 2016 all of the HHP-8 and AEM-7 locomotives are "retired" despite the short lifetime. Personally, Amtrak is run by a bunch of idiots that can't maintain their power correctly for more than a year before it's "old and useless"
