    hey @greedonlife, I finished my 31 hr FLSD course a while back, and passed the prep test with an 89%. but truth be told I dont know the first thing about actually being in the Field. I have worked closely with many FLSD's, as I also have the F-01, 2, 3 and 4 so I am not Totally unfamiliar with the field but im looking for a more in depth view in to the way it all works. not so much the by the book approach but the ins and the outs of the day to day as an flsd. it would be nice in your next video to get that kinda of perspective to help me understand the field better, so that i might feel more at ease taking that next step and level of responsibility.
    .i do appreciate these videos though they help me to retain information, keep it up man

      Joshua Mercado good question. It all depends on your employer. If you are hired through a security firm, typically you would have a log book that must be signed daily. Lamp test are also done daily because you may find something wrong, either an impairment or a trouble/supervisory or devices that are disabled. Sometimes the person you relieve may not properly brief you, so the daily lamp test is way to create a habit of consistently informing yourself of anything out of the ordinary. You may also be required to be a shift supervisor. Due to the fact that you would command a higher rate, managers may want to throw in that job as well. In terms of conducting inspections, the engineering departments usually handle that.

    No! Don't confuse people!
    Fire guards experience is not qualified for FSD!
    Look:
    "The experience of only being a Fire Guard (e.g. F-01, F-02, F-03, F-04, F-36, F-54, F-91, etc.) or a security guard (e.g. S-60 or New York State security licence) will generally NOT QUALIFY you to become a Fire Safety Director candidate."
    Acceptable experiences are: S-12, S-13, S-14, S-97, S-98, S-95, F-78, S-78, F-80, firefighter, police, law enforcement...

      @Greedonlife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. Sorry I didn’t get to you last year. I agree with your comment however, I did mention how a fire/security guard can fall into a qualified category. You must be a part of the fire brigade if you are security. For floor warden you have to be a tenet normally, so security typically doesn’t qualify under this. Did you miss that part of the video?

      If you referring to on the job duties, it’s totally different. Typically when you are a flsd, you will be in a leadership role. As a fire guard you are taking direction from someone. In terms of the study/test, they are closely related. To be an flsd you have to know everything that a fire guard knows and then some.

    • @Greedonlife

      J. Michaels maybe. I would get the letter from metro tech then go to your security company HR dept to have them sign it. A lot of site managers don’t know the steps.
