This Catskill style dry fly has a little bit of a different vibe than we’re used to. Cutting the wing tips, to make it square, gives you a more manageable feather, making it easier to separate and tie down evenly. Yes, the “wispy” look of the wings is gone, it it’s replaced with an extremely more distinctive profile.
