*Have you experienced something that could classify as Exploding Head Syndrome?*

Every day now. Last night it was a loud dog barking in my ear. Usually explosions, screams and loud bangs.

Evertime it happens to me my pitbull starts barking/growling like she hears it to. To me it sounds like someone banging on the door around 2:30-3am

yes, I have Exploding Head Syndrome. Now that I live alone, it's terrifying to wake up with a jolt, hearing doors slamming, knocking, crashes, and terrifying explosions.

Wow so i had this happen to me for the first time 2 days ago. I was awaken by the sound of screaming in my ear and it felt like someone was continuously slapping me and i couldn't so amytime scream or get up, i remember saying tp myself just give up and stop trying to fight it as soon as I did everything was released immediately. So I did research two days later when it came back to me..

Mine mainly happens when I’m trying to stay awake. And it’s always this insanely awful buzz sound.

Im 35 yo male. This just started happening for the first time 12
    Days ago.
It creates so much anxiety just after it wakes me.
It seems to be triggered by a combination of stress, sleep deprivation and substance abuse. But these things are not uncommon for me. The only unusual thing is a slight change in career and a build up of over due work. So maybe it’s underlying stress about having work deadlines for the first time ever.

I've been experiencing this a lot lately. Last night I swear I heard someone pounding on the window. Real loud. I jumped up and turned the lights on...but nothing. I asked my roommate if she heard anything and she said no. It sucks.

My 10 year old son just started having this. He hears what sounds like a large truck going up and down the road. He wakes up scared. And he said his bed was shaking. I made a doctor's appointment even though I doubt there is much they can do about it.

I have this it started about 5 years ago. The first time I thought there had been an explosion I had massive heart palpitations and total panic. My noises are explosions and gun shots. I tried all sorts of remedies but learnt to live with it. However now I actually enjoy it. Is that weird?? It’s most nights. When I hear the noise I know I’m about to go to sleep it’s like my own personal timer! I’m not stressed by it at all anymore. I have very vivid dreams wonder if it’s connected? Don’t worry about it, it’s just a glitch in the matrix!

I had first occurrences of it ten years ago, after a twoday mdma-bender. Didn't had it for 9 years or something. This year got tinnitus, and have been having more and more occurrences of ehs. Mostly when I m very tired. My intuitive solution was also to have some sound to focus on, and it seems to work.
I can sort of feel them coming up as well. I would feel a tingly sensation in my body, hard to describe, combined with pressure in my ears. If I tense my body, it sorta stays in this phase, but once I release it I have this intense white noise being filtered in, from 0 to 10000000 in a fraction of a second. Tensing the body is obviously a failing strategy because, even if I can ignore the tingling enough to get to that point of falling asleep, the sound just hits out of nowhere once my body relaxes and I m just back fully awake. Only solution I had is listening to some music.
Two days ago I took some shrooms already really late, and I was pretty tired before as well, and the episodes were really intense. Was the first time as well the sounds went beyond the initial noise-sweep and ended in a sort of extremely loud, distorted bell-sound. Scary stuff.
When I shared it w the friend I was crashing at, she told me she experienced it before as well while taking acid. I have been looking for people who experienced it as well, so it was very helpful to have her support and understanding. Explaining to some that u have audio-hallucinations (they also happen when I don't take anything. Well, weed is a constant I guess), is a bit intense. I guess I just have to be a bit more conscious w my consciousness.
K needed to get this off my chest. Thanks for making this video.

There was one time I literally jumped off the mattress during my sleep and woke up as a result. I also suffer from EHS. Sometimes experience it while I'm awake.

I m a bit scared of it occuring outside of almost-falling-asleep... Does it happen when ur exhausted or is it completely unrelated to sleep?

I hear screaming along with the pounding.. I get the shock and the only way I can describe what I feel and see is like my world and collapsing in on itself, then it inflates back to normal just as quick as it collapsed.. I hate it.. and my lights flicker alot after it happens.. yes my lights are on jmcuz along with this I have sleep paralysis.. its effing terrifying.. I hate it..

Sorry to hear that. Mine just started a month ago. It doesn’t happen every night, but once to twice a week. I’ve had a really bad habit of not getting enough sleep. I think my body is telling me to get more sleep and reduce stress.

I have had EHS, though it has dissipated as I got older. It was especially common in my 20s and 30s..

I have suffered from this periodically over the past 8 yrs or so. When it does occur it's a loud, sharp crack which I think a firearm has been discharged or a door being slammed. It's jolts me awake with fear. I never knew what it was called until I researched it some 4 yrs ago. I don't personally know anyone who have experienced it. I suppose having PTSD hasn't helped any. 😳

Happens all the time LOL just as I’m drifting off to sleep… BOOM!! Never found it to be as terrifying as it is annoying though. It’s just a brief startle and then back to sleep.

1 Corinthians 15:3 that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 🌎
