This is absolutely inspiring in 2021. And a kick in my creative butt to stop accumulating gear, just master one very well, as you have done so beautifully
Amen to that. What's gonna be your one piece for 2022? My Monologue is kinda the gift that keeps on giving...I'm still tempted to get a Zoom MS70 to pair with it for some ambient creativity.
I think you're underselling all the work that went into that synth, and synth technology in general. It's a great composition but man try playing it on a piano and see how it sounds. Again I'm not denying the skill of the player but to ignore how amazing the noises are that come from the synth is just plain rude to all those who spent to much time and effort making and designing them.
marineroom I just wanted to throw in.. certainly right about the guys that engineer this stuff.. undeniable vision.. technicians who are equal parts artist.. and I don't think anyone appreciates more than the guys who'v master these little boxes of sonic wonder like this guy in the video.. I stumbled onto his videos when the little monotrons came out.. there are so many people posting videos of these korg instruments.. and hats off to all those who who post.. many are far better at playing them than I am.. iv got all of them.. trons.. tribes.. volcas.. kaos'.. ect. the minute I read in a magazine in 2002 Brian Eno stating his "new favorite toy.." was a kaos Pad 2.. I dropped the magazine.. scooped up my baby daughter and drove straight to guitar center to buy one.. it's still on my desk.. I just wanted to say that of all the many vids of people with these things.. most are all pulling the same factory sounds out of them.. but THIS GUY.. this guy impaticular can pull unique sonic candy out of a rock.. he is one of only a few who are getting unique sounds out of these devices.. even the little trons.. I just wanted to point out that the original comment was spot on.. this guy is special.. great ear.. always posting sound that's going way beyond the factory squelches which are 99 percent of what you hear in korg vids posted up on TH-cam.. but certainly no argument re the genius' who are creating these devices for us to create with.. yes.. without them I'd just be watching another ballgame on TV.. something I havn't done since Reason was installed in 2001. cheers from San Francisco guys. This is obscenely powerful and should be the intro music to some dark, apocalyptic movie about the end of civilization at the hands of airborne killer robot-demons....
New to the synthesizer world myself, and have a small but growing collection of starter synths, including the Volca Keys, Volca Bass, Roland S-1 etc….having said that, I found your video a few weeks back and I keep coming back to it again and again. Gotta say that of all the Volca Keys videos, yours resonates with me the strongest. As a beginner it makes a great tool to try and emulate and practice along with as you play. Great song and beautifully rendered. Thanks for the inspiration.
This is just beautiful. I listen to it somewhat frequently. The Volca series are some of the most underrated synths out there. You get so much value and with the restrictions they have they push a lot of creativity.
@chasingdogma I use the volca keys a lot and find myself using Fminor a lot. i think the tone is a device sweet spot and also the way the keyboard is helps
Not sure what's more impressive: your imaginative composition or your mastery of the impossibly small Volca keyboard. Either way, we'll keep coming back to this inspired and inspiring piece. Sometimes less really is more.
What is looks like a routine performance for musician appear an sweetest bread for listener. Happy You are, to be able to touch music like that, so happy we are to be able to hear it! I badly whant more of it!
The effects are doing a lot of the heavy lifting in the sound design. Plus clever use of the kaos as a looper. The keys are just a basic tone source here and won’t sound anywhere near as polished without the rest of the set up.
After like two years this continues to be my favorite Burg song (I'm sorry, no intention to offend or anything because i love a lot of his creations) this one hits me. And it's so simple, doesn't matter when it's about art.
It's so theatral, futuristic, a bit 80's sounds, religious, mystical, sad, but beautyful and apocalyptic in the same time. Love it! Must have Korg tool! Oh, and you mr. you are talented!
+ollilaboratories Still incredible! This is the video that made me buy one of these lil babies. Truly does sound great drowned in reverb. Pretty good through a distortion pedal if you're subtle about it, too
This is really quite excellent. I was listening to it while my eyes were closed, & just sort of drifting along while letting the music carry me. It's hard to imagine that someone could be so creative & do so much, not only with a fairly limited synth, but by primarily using only 1 key/note. Yes, this is good, very good.
thanks a lot... im glad you appreciate it, sometimes the simpler melodies are the ones that provides more "feel" so to speak. Thanks for listening and you comment, cheers!
I just got the Volca beats, bass, and keys last weekend. I'm loving them so far, and your videos/music are what sold me on them. Korg should pay you to advertise for them.
They are really great little machines.. i love them! :) Glad that you find my vids inspirational, this is part of the fun making them! and if KORGINC is reading this.. i wouldn't mind some cash to make videos..... hahahaha :D
Can't stop coming back listening to this amazing track you created here ! Dark, Melodious, Mezmerizing... I absolutly loves it ! Thanks for the Sharing !
@@BURG So Sad, would be fantastic to have it on my spotify playlist :) One day hopefuly ? :D Quick question about this little Volca Keys device : For what i know, there's no way to keep a song (parameters for a song) stored into the device ? Does it actually means that everytime you turn on the device, you have to scratch everything from the ground again ? Or is it a way to store the work you've done so you can perform it later on while working on other project ? About the pairing, would this little synth pair well with a MC 707 ? (will i be able to use the pads from the 707 to control the sound from the Volca ?) sorry for those noobish question, i'm quite new into all of this creative world !
