I was out and dancing up a storm at the gay bars in Hartford when this song came out and brings back such happy memories of good times and good friends, so many gone too soon....
Same here.we were dancing to Love Pains,PASSION,YMCA,Sex Over the Phone,Macho,Macho Man,High Energy,Cruising,Shoot Your Shot,Searching and It’s Raining Men(years before it charted) great club music (thank you Bobby Orlando) I lost 11 friends to H.I.V/A.I.D.S in the 80’s and 90’s. I still have survivors guilt. I really put it around back then. Yet I’m H.I.V-- some of my friends who died had only one or two encounters with guys. I stopped counting mine when I got to 200 and I didn’t even know most of their names.That’s a lot of hard work when you’re a top😂 I still can’t fathom how a sexually promiscuous guy like me didn’t get it yet my virtually Snow White friends did🤔😔🌈 Peace and happiness from Dublin 🌈🇮🇪
@@CashelOConnolly I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It was the opposite with me...all my friends would sleep around every weekend and all I ever wanted was one man to be my husband. I wanted dinner and getting to know them, when most just wanted to bang. In my whole life it has been only about 10 guys that I had sex with and 6 of them being boyfriends and serious. And I am still alone.
1983 and 84 - EVERY weekend in thr clubs of Philadelphia - dancing our Asses Off to this, I Am What I Am, so many other great songs. So much fun, so many good friends, too many lost far too soon in our community....
