- My BRK Ghost in 22 finally arrived, today I am checking the gun out, adding the scope and giving overall first impressions. The it is of to do some testing, first up the JSB 25,39 Gr Redesigned pellets, I am looking for speed and performance, air consumption and overall how nice it is to shoot. In PArt 2 I will start the Slug testing.

Great to see you back!! Great video as ever
Great video 👍🏻 looking forward to next one !! Thumbs up
So glad Brocock is getting an good shake, love it
They have done a lot od R&D, there is still some work to be done with the barrels, the LW's are great but they come in different gradings, nobody wants to tell me what the grading is on the Ghost (Can be a 5 or a 6 out of 10). I will test the barrel later for smoothness and the rest.
I am happy to see a proper barrel on this airgun. The barrel on my LCS SK 19 is as thick as the barrel on a firearm, and because of that the gun is always zeroed and I can hang it from hooks on the headrest of the seats in my truck drive around get out of the truck take a shot put it back and I don’t have anything to worry about. Try doing that with a lot of other airguns and you’ll find your point of impact has changed. Maybe you just showed me my next PCP. Thanks you. Stay blessed.
Amazing 💕very nice gun and the man behind it
Really nice and informative video on the ghost! Thank you for your report 😊
I really don't need any more airguns but that there Ghost sure looks mighty fine.... 😅 Nice to see you back in action, it has been a while. 👍 Will be interesting to see how it'll handle those Zan slugs! Thanks for sharing and big thumbs up! 🖖
Proud of you. Ian👍👍
DAMN , that was really impressive
I am really falling in love with Ghost!
Mate I loved seeing you having so much fun and it's not a fx.
Thanks. I will have to bring the FX out of hybernation soon, going to set it up to shoot very heavy slugs. But for now the new toy is a lot of fun.
Great to see you back. Excellent video. Steve Brew is raving about his ghost as well.
BTW, can't find you on IG.
Looks an amazing gun,thks.
Still early days, but yes it can shoot JSB 25gr like crazy, Can't wait to get to the 100meter range.
Always enjoy your video you are not a sales rep just fair comments well done the mags don't like short pellets UK sub 12 ft .177 👍
I’m a FX guy but that airgun is super impressive, might have to get one. Well done on the video.
You can never have too many guns...
Top class
Wow that is impressive right out of the box 👍
And nice to see you back with a new gun 🤗
Hope that you are doing well 🙂
Best regards 🙂
Thanks sir, given up on the FX in 177, not enough money to buy new barrels etc. So trying a new gun, initial tests looks positive, but no gun is perfect...
@@AimSmall Im looking forward to the slug test ☝️🤓
Hi Daar Slaai Blaar.. Welcome Back!
👌 Nice Ian 👌
I am looking at this in a .25. I found that Midwest Elite makes a 24 round mag called: Charlie Mag for the .22 Caliber Daystate Delta/Alpha/Ghost
Welkom terug.
Welcome
i love my ghost
Ian is the best
Mooi video Gert. Baie nuuskierig om te sien wat maak hy met slugs en ook oor langer afstande😊
I have to say that the current Ghost does not lend itself to shooting slugs but BRK are supposedly bringing out a slug barrel. As a enthusiast for slugs and a Ghost owner, I can't wait for that barrel. As you subsequently said, the magazine in 22 is actually 11 and not 10. Two magazine's back to back give you 22 shots before having to reload. They also now sell the latest Ghost with an adjustable cheek riser. Enjoy 😊
The LW barrel is not great quality unfortunately, video to follow, had to polish the barrel hard to get the rust and other junk out, will re-test in next 2 weeks and try and post video.
Missed your videos pal hope everything is well.
Great thanks ,was busy with World Championship FT preparation, shooting 177's the last 12 months.
Cool, good to see you back
The ghost high power does not like slugs, brk are developing a slug barrel for the ghost.
This is what IME told from brk themselves.
Well, shit. I thought a wild babboon or something had abducted you. Good to see ya back!
I was so caught up in the Worlds with FT and HFT. South Africa won the Team event at the recent worlds and my buddy Gerhard Genade from Paarl became the World Champ. Been shooting 177's for more than a year without rest.
Good video overall.
Yes they should have made the cheek rest adjustable vertically too. PRS makes one, though it sucks that you have to order it separately for an additional cost. Sadly as I understand it, with the current design you cant double stack the mags because the current cheek rest gets in the way. However with the PRS cheek rest you can. One of the design limitations of the rifle out of the box.
While handling a Ghost in a shop (it was a plus version which is why I didnt buy it as I wanted the HP unless I got a great deal, my HP is on the way), the safety is semi blocked by the cocking lever. You can get to it, but its cumbersome, especially when wearing gloves. The PRS Biathlon handle alleviates this.
Yes, to disengage the safety is a mission, I will add it to an upcoming video soon, I also struggle to get my fingers in there behind the cocking lever. Thanks for reminding me of it, I very seldom use it as I never carry a loaded gun.
@@AimSmall Im HUGE on proper trigger discipline and I use the safety always but not rely on it. Its why I HATE safeties that are inside the trigger guard and one thing I liked about my ghost and revere.
I tend to use the same routine with each shot: finger pointing to the tip of the barrel alongside the gun, sight, click off safety, finger on trigger, take shot or shots, safety on repeat. Too many rely on safeties and get negligent discharges as a result.
My ghost arrives monday and the accessories go on it immediately, especially the biathlon charging handle.
Excellent work but very power (air) hungry. Would lighter pellets help with this? Keen to also see what 30+g slugs do. Good to also see you back in action.
Yes lighter pellets will have a huge impact on air consumption. Fine tuning will also work but I am not going to do any adjustments until the first tests are done.
Welkom trug Gert.👍
I love this gun but I'm after something that can be adjusted from say 65ft/lbs right down to around 12ft/lbs without too much hassle.
Is that possible with any pcp? If so, what would you recommend
The FX has the ability if you adjust the Reg prssure , hammer spring and power wheel, but you will need to play with the regulator again. I don't think there is currently a gun (Except maybe the Delta Wolf) that you can do the adjustments without having to adjust the reg manually.
I have a LW barrel in my pcp aswell and I hate the bloody thing. For airrifle sucj deep grooves isnt good for seal and also foul up way too fast.
They aren't as deeply groved as Steyr...
Great vid im a big fan but why do i feel that you don't like your fx any more😂
Still have the FX, just not happy with all the false advertising around it, and the leaks... Will probably never sell my last one, MK I with 72cc plenum and upgraded to the max, cost too much.
@@AimSmall
I totally understand and i cannot agree more so i got myself a maverick sniper in .22 because its less complicated than the impact and also more simple, it's an amazing airgun but still "Achilles heel" of fx airguns is the barrel though it's able to be solved.
By the way you would like the fx maverick.
Did you use a moderator ?
I always use moderators
I'm sensing that you've fallen out of love a little with the big swede?
Nope, just frustrated due to facts that are omitted when the TH-camrs do their sponsored.. "oh this gun is so fantastic" mumbo jumbo...
@@AimSmall Totally agree. I get people asking me, fairly regularly, to make them LW barrels for their Impacts. I have not done it yet as I don't have the specs.
Did Brocock just copy a FX Maverick here? Just looks too similar.
Need to try at 50 -100 yards then that will give you a true reflection on the gun , pellets, and slugs .
Apparently these guns will not be very accurate with slugs
I might have a surprise there, already shot some slugs... part II will show what it does. The barrel is choked which is not great for slugs, the .218's are going to battle.
Wowser, 965 fps!!!!
Yip, they are probably going to spiral at longer distances. I usually shoot them at 870fps
Oh Gert, I'm a little disappointed by your slagging off "unnamed" guns. They're just different, no worse no better. Different shooters like o fiddle and tune, you make it sound like it's wrong to do all that. As I said , disappointed in your biased commentary
Thank you for being so diplomatic and I am sorry you feel like that way.I have reached a point where I am just not entertaining manufacturers "leaving" out vital information about their products, their TH-cam promoters paint a marketing message and not the whole truth, I have spend a bucket load of money on that product - had a known the truth it would have saved my mega bucks... just trying to prevent other misinformed buyers not to fall into the same trap as me. When I asked the manufacturer why the gun aint grouping I always get the answer that I need to buy the latest gratest thing that will make it shoot better. I am tired of the BS. Because I bought the gun, shot 30000+ rounds through it, I will tell the truth. FX is by far the market leader when it comes to slugs and high power guns, their marketing is brilliant - but some facts are left out conveniently... I still have my gun, still use it. I will tell the truth about ALL the guns I buy. No gun is perfect, but the fact that unsuspecting buyers are caught out by marketing hubbub is not fair to the hard working individuals that have to save for months to be able to affords a gun that is not what they see on TH-cam. Cudos to the FX team for the effort they put into the R&D, it is foresure helping the shooting community. My gripe is about the paid TH-camrs not giving accurate information, or should I say "selective" information. You will see in my videos that I don't hold back, not to any manufacturer, and that is why I don't have sponsors. The buyer has the right to know BEFORE they buy.
@@AimSmall Agree with Gert, my M3 got sorted with a proper reg on the front and rear (Huma) and a barrel band, also not over tightening and just pinching the barrel liner nut, Genuinely it is insanely consistent and accurate now with Zan 28 grain and standard liner. I do like the engineering on the Ghost but I also like the big plenum on the impact and not sure the Ghost measures up in that department.
Hi Gert, great to see a vid from you again. Nice way to find the equilibrium. Shout out to Ian @saairrifles ... My go to guy and I highly recommend him.
FOR $ 2800 DOLLARS FOR A PELLET GUN YOU HAVE GOT TO BE CRAZY
That is still cheap... try $3500 for an AA Xti or $3 200 for the latest FX Panthera... Things are geting crazy expensive.
