  • Via Ferrata de Socueva - Arredondo
    Ferrata de Socueva, Cantabria
It is located in Socueva, Arredondo. The via ferrata of Socueva is divided in three parts differentiated by its difficulty and that correspond to the two walls that cross the track, of 100 and 60 meters of difference each one. The remaining 90 meters of unevenness will be made by walking along the mountainside.
Unlike many other routes, it is in the first wall where the most difficult steps are concentrated, while in the second, less vertical and with some flanking, we will find the easiest ones.
The first wall starts strong and does not leave the verticality in any moment. After a first heating rise, a variant to the left, allows to avoid the more complicated steps. After the vira leave two routes, a vertical and physically demanding K-5 in the classification of Austrian difficulty. Lower ED (Extremely Difficult) in the French difficulty classification.
If we take the athletic variant, up, we already see what awaits us. We must be prepared to face distant steps, where we must even make some launching to arrive, a zone slightly collapsed and several points with dams on the wall. At the end we expect a short, very aerial flank with few staples and small that will not let us rest until the end.
This stretch is spectacular and one of the most achieved to experience sensations near the escalation in a via ferrata in our country.
