My copy just showed up and it's everything I thought it would be, and more! I'm a retired service tech from the oil/gas/power gen field... With my prior field experience (which included some chiller and large gas-turbine powered refrigeration loops) I've become proficient enough in HVAC to do my own work thanks to the information you and others have provided. I'm 608/609 certified and learning more every day. I can't say enough good about AC Service Tech and the quality of the information!
22 years in trade…just bought this fabulous book. Knowledge is power, and every day is a school day. It’s amazing how much we take for granted in regards to actual knowledge, and forget when we don’t use it every day just doing installs. Thanks dude.
Craig you have been such a big help to me and my colleagues you've always taken the time to answer any questions I've had in the past and I just wanted to give you a big THANK YOU from all of us techs out here in Vegas!!!
Hi, thank you for all you have done for my understanding. You are one of the best creators on TH-cam. I bought the digital copy of your book as a way of showing my appreciation. I also used your Amazon links to purchase tooling for my work (I am the Chief Engineer on a super yacht) I am now doing virtually all of my own work on our chiller plants and refrigeration plant, thanks in large part to the confidence your work has given me. kenneth johnson This is my first comment on TH-cam just to tell everyone it’s great book. Chk so many videos and books but this one is so far they best and easy to understand as English is not my 1st language but still find it very easy to understand highly recommended
blmonkey, thanks for letting me know. Since you purchased the paperback, I can give a $5 coupon code for the ebook on the website www.acservicetech.com/store and I also have the quick reference cards available now on the website and on amazon. Thank you very uch for your insight on the amazon storefront!
I just got this book today and I can’t put it down. I’m very new in the trade and I’ve been taking classes online. Craig really makes everything very easy to understand for people like me who are new. I’d say it’s a must for anyone interested in this trade. Killer book!
Thank you very very much Dillon! I really appreciate your note and I am really glad that you are enjoying the book! Make sure to go to the www.acservicetech.com/videos page where there is a list of 75 videos with page numbers that will correspond to the book so you can read and see a video example of what is taught. Also, if you were inclined, we are always looking for reviews of the book on amazon! We also have a 1,000 question workbook out with a self study answer sheet, thanks again!
How much did you get paid to post this? You didn't receive the book. This is a scam. I paid and got nothing. Emailed and got no response. He's a SCAMMER. How much did you get paid to post this?
I just purchased the bundle. ACST/Craig is by far the best, committed AC service tech and instructor on TH-cam. When I learned of the paperback, etc.? Immediately I bought it. Even for experts and professionals, ACST/Craig is always thought provoking and reinforcing theory and practice. Who on EARTH would want to risk being at a competitive disadvantage without his additional resources?👊😜👍 Thank you
You and your TH-cam channel has helped me out so much over these past 2 years of my new hvac career and I just want to tell you thank you for all that you do and I will be buying the book on pay day
EXCELLENT book. Just got it last week. You really went above and beyond with this. Easy to understand and the big font and pictures make it very nice to read. Excellent channel.
How serendipitous is this....? just got home, long sweaty day open the mailbox and your book is there! Waiting for jambalaya to simmer, click youtube and this is the first video to come up!! Quick first impressions... have always preferred spiral bindings for shop books, large font print and popping graphics! Looks good!
Just received the book bundle with the 3 cards. I’m Not disappointed at all! Best money I ever spent. Will be leaving a review on Amazon. Thank you so much for publishing this book and workbook! 👍👍
You are definitely the best hvac/r teacher on youtube. So, I wish you would consider putting out a series of videos/books on what is necessary to pass the hvac/r contractors exam. In my area, Richmond Indiana, the guys who teach the classes at the trade school also have businesses, so it isn't in their best interest to help students obtain their trade licenses because then they will be competition. Keep up the good work.
Hey Joe I just purchased also the E book but in this video says you can highlight and take notes if you are using your phone. I have a iPhone and does not give me the option to highlight or take notes. Do you have that option in your e book??
Sir, I am currently in a Troops to Trades program with my Company. This book will be a Blessing to me and my friends. I just bought the eBook version.🙌🏾
Just got the book in today bought it from amazon I’ve been reading it all day and it’s the best book for me I love it and I’m waiting on the next book you put out I definitely will be purchasing it
That's really awesome Terry, thanks for letting me know! Also if you were so inclined, I am trying to get some techs to review the book on amazon. No worries at all if you don't want to. Thanks for the note!
Just stumbled on this channel, looks cool. Going to get the book as I am an hvac tech that struggles with a lot of common things. I hope this will help me out.
I just bought the epub version, if its half as good as you explain in your channel I'll be happy camper. thanks alot craig I learned alot from your videos and I'm sure the book will be as useful as your videos have been to me. greetings from Saudi Arabia
@@acservicetechchannel I read till page 71 yesterday and its greatly explaining some of the stuff that I knew some of it but not knowing why if you got what I mean, sorry English isn't my first language. I ordered a few items from amazon yesterday and can't wait for them to arrive to start practicing what I learned so far. I like to do my own maintenance now at least I can do it the right way not just because everyone else says it should be this way and can't even explain why. one more thing it'll be great if you can make the printed book ship worldwide it'll be great good luck Craig, keep up the good work Best Regards Mohamed
I really like this book and it is very easy to understand all the steps in the book. Thanks for making the book. Also, a cd would have been a great edition to the book.
Awesome channel. I bought the e-book and its great. I have a question about a daikin heat pump. I want to check the subcooling on the unit. However the service port for the liquid line is after the electronic expansion valve which is in the outdoor unit. There is a service port for the discharge line from the compressor before the condenser. Can I use the pressure reading here or is there a large pressure drop across the condenser?
There is a pressure drop. The problem with vrf minisplits are that the manufacturers do not give a charging guide for max cooling in regards to subcooling or superheat. They only want us to use the total weight method, thanks!
Hi Craig and just wanted to say that I purchased your hard copy and now your ebook. You and your staff who worked on the book did a great job. For other folks out there, who are learning this trade, the book is well organized, large fonts on thick glossy paper and colorful illustrations. As an electrical engineer, I read countless technical papers and have to say that Craig’s writing is clear and to the point. Even someone who is not in refrigeration will understand this book. Craig, I was wondering if you thought about an electrical companion book for refrigeration. Then you would have the market covered. 😀 Also, as a final thought, if you had link(s) in your ebook to TH-cam for your videos for different topics and procedures, one could see the actions as you’re describing them to relate to the book. Once again Craig, great book with stupendous information. 😀👍
Dave, thanks for letting me know! A controls book would be interesting for sure too. I can't describe the amount of time it took to build and complete this book! I will see what I can do for the future, thanks to both of you!
@@acservicetechchannel Yeah I can just see you now.... wiping brow, Yeah, finally done! That book I said would be it! "Wait.... they want more??? Nooooooooo!"
Craig, I am an instructor at Southern Technical College in Florida and use your videos as examples for my students on a regular basis. I would love for you to be a guest speaker discussing static pressure.
Samuel, I don't know how I ever missed this comment but I am honored by your request! Unfortunately I'm am all the way in NJ. I hope you have checked out our resources on the website. We set up PO accounts and volume pricing for the books and cards, thanks! If you need anything, just contact at info@acservicetech.com . I hope you are making out well at this time with the virus situation going on, thanks for your comment!
Craig has no idea how many people he’s helped with these videos. Like. Not even in a “oh that was cool” kinda way. But legitimate education and training. Free. Over the years I’ve been in and out of the trade I’ve ALWAYS gone back to this channel to brush up on things when I’m feeling rusty. So much valuable information.
Awesome to hear! Please add a review on amazon for the book after reading. You can find the book through amazon.com/shop/acservicetech and they will allow you to add a review even if you purchased it on our website. Thanks for letting me know that you would like to see a most common troubleshooting scenarios book. Chapters 13-15 are troubleshooting in this book but I wanted everyone to really digest the content before moving into the troubleshooting so that they really understood, thanks!
I have been doing HVACR work for some time now and just bought the 2 manuals off your Ebay store. Things have changed a lot in the trade since the 80's. I was wondering if the info in the manuals can be applied to the various mini splits, I have to take care of at a hospital setting in Delaware. Thanks for all the different videos on you tube I watch and the 2 books
Hey Craig great videos !!! every time I watch your videos you remind me of drew Scott from property brothers show you sound like him 😝his face is in my head every time I watch your videos
I came across your videos and think the book may be helpful. I'm in the southwest and apparently my temps and humidity are different than yours. Does that make it harder to figure out what needs to be done? Also, all but one of my units are one big box on the roof, some are heat pump and one is gas for heating. Does your book cover these? Great teachers can explain things so anyone can understand, that's you.
The book covers charging procedures and even explains your scenario in a dry climate and the use of a TXV whenever possible or an accumulator. The full outline and sample pages are at www.acservicetech.com/ac-book
Thank you for the videos and the equipment links! You do us all a great service. I have a question: Why do different manufacturers have such different, sometimes radically different, flare nut torque values. It's all the same copper tubing and the same brass flare fittings. Shouldn't the sizes and physical properties of those materials dictate an optimum torque value, one which gives the greatest possible seal without risking stripping or fracture? If so, then there would be one torque value range for each size tubing - the brand of the equipment or the type of system wouldn't matter. Thanks again!
Thanks Craig for supplying all of this easy to digest information. I'm an old jack of many trades contractor and I swore I was done learning new tricks but being a multiple property owner in Florida with many a/c units to keep an eye on, I have succumbed to getting more than a vague idea of how to maintain them and really educate myself which, you have made easier than any other provider I have come across. So, in trying to rewire my brain properly and overcome those preconceived vague ideas, I have a question that may help simplify the concepts of super heat and sub cooling in my head: Is it correct to say that superheat/subcool, is the temperature change a refrigerant takes on beyond the phase change from liquid to vapor and vice versa?
Hey Phillip, check out the full outline at acservicetech.com/the-book to look at all the troubleshooting and procedures. There are also some sample pages there. I hope you are learning well at the school and let me know if you have any questions as you move forward in school, thanks!
Does your book have any content in heating systems? ( trouble shooting, sequence of operation, testing of components, ) thank you for your videos. They are the best!!!!!
This one specializes on the refrigerant side of things. The complete full outline for the 229 page book is view-able at www.acservicetech.com/the-book and I would like to do a heating one in the future, thanks!
I took my students to the USCG base to take a look at their commercial HVACR units but we were dealing with the civilian contractors that work there to set up the trip. That is it to date!
One question I do have tho Craig, do you do any videos on install procedures? Or would you ever? Full change outs, removing the outdoor unit, running ductwork, sheet metal etc.
Hey do you have a tutorial on timers. Delay on make delay on break bypass timers. Instant on contact timers and then they break after a predetermined time.
This one is mainly focusing on residential and light commercial ac and heat pump systems but it also includes vacuum procedure, standing vacuum test, oil blowout, pressure testing, breaking the vacuum with refrigerant from the unit or service valves along with step by step refrigeration cycles, thanks!
I have a Luxaire heat pump HL3B during warm weather it stops,i check all your videos checking resistance and voltage, could not find and i conclude that it could be defrost board, finaly yesterday i restart it and i did not put the cover on,it ran all day and start 78F to 74F,I wonder if there is a thermal device on those system. Thanks for your videos very helpfull.
Thats funny i was looking at books and saw this one. Im ordering it next week. And i thought lets look for a good youtube channel to help supplement it and found the guy that wrote the book 😂
Haven't made it very far yet, but I'm really liking it so far. Just thought I'd let you know for future revisions, I believe there's a typo on page 11. The word exists is used instead of exits. Not a big deal though, and thanks for the valuable resource! Looking forward to reading the whole thing!
I would like to in the future! I am looking for reviews of the book on amazon if you are willing? They allow reviews even if you purchased the book on my website, thanks!
Hey craig your books are great and very helpfull and the charging cards are to i have them all and they have made me a better tech. so can you make a book on electrical parts of a heating and air conditioner system it will be a tremendous help thanks buddy
Hi Craig. Very informative videos! Thank you for all ! Is there any possibility to make some video about checking pressures in split ac systems with only one low pressure side port? Here where I live there are allot of them and will be great to find info's about these systems from a guru in AC. Tank you again for all your work! BR
Hey Dorcky, most split systems have two ports but you can look up "acservicetech superheat playlist" for videos on checking the charge with the total superheat method, thanks!
Hey Zack, I will try to make myself available and would love to be on. I just need a little time. It is always busy but I will make some time coming up and send you an email. Thanks again for your invite!
Hi! I see all your viedeos and I really appreciate your help. I wonder if you are able to di a video bypassing a temperatura switch at a HP unit. I'll highly appreciate it and I think many others too. Thank!!!
It is mainly focused on residential light commercial but contains the refrigeration cycles, procedures and troubleshooting. Check out the full outline and sample pages on the website acservicetech.com to see what all is included
Luis, I have not translated this into spanish yet. Part of the problem is not knowing a teacher who speaks spanish that can verify the translation, thanks!
It is mainly based on air conditioning units but goes over refrigerants, preparation of a system for refrigerant, troubleshooting using the refrigerant charge sat temp and superheat and subcooling for ac mode. It also has a good amount of EPA 608 questions woven into the book. Check out the full outline at www.acservicetech.com/the-book thanks
I have a question I just stumbled on you. My fan comes on my outdoor unit first then the compresser comes on 5 or 10 minutes after, I thought they started at the same time ?
Hello, I have your book and love the videos as well. Do you have any resource or thoughts on the proper testing points for subcooling and superheat on a Geothermal system, both split units and self contained? Having a hard time finding this information.
That is still in progress. Make sure that you are added to the updates list on the www.acservicetech.com website and I will make sure that you know right away when it is complete, thanks!
I brought your book and watch your videos. I'm having a strange issue it's more noticeable when its hotter out and the unit is running more but it seems like the compressor randomly won't come on (compressor fan does) I've checked all the wires and connections ohmed the compressor. Checked the charge everything seems normal. I will notice the a/c isn't Cooling and compressor not running so I shut the unit all the way off and wait about 10 minutes then it works fine till the next time it does it. Any ideas? It's a heat pump with a scroll compressor.
Hello, first thank you for your very informative videos. I have gaind my Universal 608 EPA certificate in order to become a HVAC technician. I am not sure were to start and I would appriciate your advise . Thanks.
Not at this point. I would really need to have a knowledgable tech that knows Spanish very well and that I trust because otherwise I wouldn't know if what they translated it into was absolutely correct.

Quick first impressions... have always preferred spiral bindings for shop books, large font print and popping graphics!
Looks good!
Thanks a lot Dave! Let me know what you think after you get into it a bit!

You just sold me with is video. Great stuff Craig. Thank you for such valuable information.

@@acservicetechchannel Absolutely!
Just received the book bundle with the 3 cards. I’m Not disappointed at all! Best money I ever spent. Will be leaving a review on Amazon. Thank you so much for publishing this book and workbook! 👍👍
Thats really awesome, thanks for letting me know!!!
AC Service Tech LLC
Every serious hvac-r school should have these books. Easy to understand, explains things so well. Well worth the money.
Bill, thank you very much for letting me know what you would like to see!
You set the standard for HVAC Vids. I’m sure the Book will do the same. You will always have my support, it’s a must have to me.
Thank you ver much Up and Coming HVAC Johnnie, I appreciate your note!
I couldn't wait just had to order the paperback thanks again acservicetech for all your videos and help.
Thanks Brian and let me know what you think of it!
I putchased the e-book! I love the book there is nothing on the market like this where it gives you so much information for a DIY. Thanks !!!!
Thanks a lot Lorenzo!
Best hvac book of the century.
Jay, I am really glad that you are enjoying the book! Thanks a lot for your note!
Thanks!
Excellent resource/training book. Straight and to the point, with excellent graphics.
Thanks a lot Steve, I really appreciate your note!
Great videos I’m doing a course in Aircon and refrigerated 👌🏾
Good luck!!
I purchased the E-book and I am really happy with it, it is very illustrative! Thanks
Thanks a lot Joe! I am really glad that you are enjoying it!
Hey Joe I just purchased also the E book but in this video says you can highlight and take notes if you are using your phone. I have a iPhone and does not give me the option to highlight or take notes. Do you have that option in your e book??
You're the best hvac chanel on you tube, you're very professional, hope one day you will have hvac boot camps, on Texas
Thank you very much Silver Shark!
Get the book and download, it’s a fantastic book, it truly is awesome.

Just ordered the paperback. Can’t wait!
Awesome thanks Jack and also nice other from you!
Just stumbled on this channel, looks cool. Going to get the book as I am an hvac tech that struggles with a lot of common things. I hope this will help me out.
Sounds good, I would be glad to get it in your hands and love to hear what you think of it after reading, thanks!
Love your layouts and clear explanations Craig!

Thanks a lot Mohamed and please let me know what you think of the book after reading it!
I like to do my own maintenance now at least I can do it the right way not just because everyone else says it should be this way and can't even explain why.
one more thing it'll be great if you can make the printed book ship worldwide it'll be great
good luck Craig, keep up the good work
Best Regards
Mohamed
Mohamed, now the book does ship internationally. If you have any problem just email me at info@acservicetech.com
Just purchased a copy myself, thank you for ya hard working making this
Glad that you have it and thank you very much KCTech!
I really like this book and it is very easy to understand all the steps in the book. Thanks for making the book. Also, a cd would have been a great edition to the book.
Glad you like it!
Much needed. More literature for our trade the better. Good job 👍
Thanks a lot Nor-Cal! I appreciate it!
@@acservicetechchannel Ok. Thanks very much
Hi Craig and just wanted to say that I purchased your hard copy and now your ebook. 😀👍
Stutzman, thank you very much for taking the time to write this. I really appreciate it and I am very glad that you are enjoying the book!
Second the motion on an electrical and controls book. I think there is a void waiting to be filled here.
Ha ha ha ha, that is a great visualization of exactly what's running through my mind! Nice one Dave!
Excellent book. Well written and beautifully illistrated. Craig could you please make a video on how to perform a vacuum with a digital manifold set?
I would like to soon. I try to avoid including the manifold set and extra hoses due to leaks, thanks!
Finally I see the great ACST man's face. :) Book looks good.
Coolramone, yeah sorry about you having to look at that face and all. It is what I have to work with, ha ha!
The workbook Craig has for this is great to. I have both
Awesome thanks Dillon!
Fret, thank you so much for letting me know! Very encouraging!
Just ordered mine can’t wait to get it so I can read it to use as my reference thank you so much
Thanks Hamid and please let me know what you think of the book after reading it!
AC Service Tech LLC Yes Sir I sure will thank you 🙏
Looks very nice, a usable size with nice clear illustrations.
Thanks and glad you are enjoying it!
I just got my Jul 31
I'm so excited 2:00am and I'm still reading.
Pleace make most common trouble shooting book
Just bought this book yesterday. Looking forward to it!
Awesome, I am excited to hear what you think of it! Thanks!
Thanks Craig! I just ordered the paper version. Looking forward to getting it in hand.
Thanks for the reminder video, and all the great videos!
Thanks a lot Chuck!
Got the paper back and just been reading up on it
Thanks Martin! Let me know what you think of it as you move through it, thanks!
Hey Craig great videos !!! every time I watch your videos you remind me of drew Scott from property brothers show you sound like him 😝his face is in my head every time I watch your videos
Ha ha gee thanks! I have seen intros for their show but I will have to watch the show once now to see how he sounds, thanks, ha ha!
I'm here thanks to Jay!
I just wrote Jay a thank you!
The book looks great Craig!
I like the large print and overall layout 👍
Thanks a lot Tom. I spent a lot of time shuffling that around to get it exactly where I wanted it to flow well, thanks!
So, in trying to rewire my brain properly and overcome those preconceived vague ideas, I have a question that may help simplify the concepts of super heat and sub cooling in my head:
Is it correct to say that superheat/subcool, is the temperature change a refrigerant takes on beyond the phase change from liquid to vapor and vice versa?
I'd get that book, going to an hvac school now but troubleshooting is my main concern.
Looks awesome my friend. Definitely going to get one but can’t decide like a kid in candy store. 😂
😂😂😂
Thanks a lot Keith! Nice! Let me know what you think of it after the purchase!
U should come up to McGuire AFB and give classes to the young military hvac guys and civilian too.
Hey if you could find an in road with them, I am at the southern tip of NJ, so its a possibility!
@@acservicetechchannel have u ever worked with the military before or USCG cape may?
I took my students to the USCG base to take a look at their commercial HVACR units but we were dealing with the civilian contractors that work there to set up the trip. That is it to date!
One question I do have tho Craig, do you do any videos on install procedures? Or would you ever? Full change outs, removing the outdoor unit, running ductwork, sheet metal etc.
Are you planning on making a furnace book?
Hey do you have a tutorial on timers. Delay on make delay on break bypass timers. Instant on contact timers and then they break after a predetermined time.
Curious if it has information on commercial refrigeration such as ice machine, walk in coolers, etc. Is it focused on residential procedures?
This one is mainly focusing on residential and light commercial ac and heat pump systems but it also includes vacuum procedure, standing vacuum test, oil blowout, pressure testing, breaking the vacuum with refrigerant from the unit or service valves along with step by step refrigeration cycles, thanks!
Yes, I’d love to see you write a book on commercial refrigeration applications as mentioned in this thread.
Thanks Lindsey!
I love the book partner! very informative!!!!.
Awesome to hear! Thanks!

Ordered mine yesterday
Thanks plumber1874, let me know what you think of it?
Thats funny i was looking at books and saw this one. Im ordering it next week. And i thought lets look for a good youtube channel to help supplement it and found the guy that wrote the book 😂
Yes absolutely and check out our videos page www.acservicetech.com/videos for a 125 video list that coorelates to pages in that book! Thannks!
Haven't made it very far yet, but I'm really liking it so far. Just thought I'd let you know for future revisions, I believe there's a typo on page 11. The word exists is used instead of exits. Not a big deal though, and thanks for the valuable resource! Looking forward to reading the whole thing!
Just order my book can't wait are you making one for heat
I would like to in the future! I am looking for reviews of the book on amazon if you are willing? They allow reviews even if you purchased the book on my website, thanks!

Thank you very much and I certainly am looking forward to making those. It all takes quite a bit of time, thanks!

Cool, now you can come in the show!
Hey Zack, I will try to make myself available and would love to be on. I just need a little time. It is always busy but I will make some time coming up and send you an email. Thanks again for your invite!
Now we need the refrigerant charge cards by feet for the new R32 and R454b refrigerants.
Working on that right now!!! Coming out soon!!
Why isn’t double flare used on refrigerant tubing?
This is a must have
Thanks a lot tecnico!
I just got my copy thank you

Hi!
I see all your viedeos and I really appreciate your help.
I wonder if you are able to di a video bypassing a temperatura switch at a HP unit.
I'll highly appreciate it and I think many others too.
Thank!!!
Is this more focused on residential as opposed to commercial?
It is mainly focused on residential light commercial but contains the refrigeration cycles, procedures and troubleshooting. Check out the full outline and sample pages on the website acservicetech.com to see what all is included
Hi. I am happy to have found this resource. The book should be an excellent resource.
Are Mitsubishi units far superior to the other brands?
exelente libro.. lo van a traducir al español para la venta?
Luis, I have not translated this into spanish yet. Part of the problem is not knowing a teacher who speaks spanish that can verify the translation, thanks!
Does this book have a lot of info of refrigeration units ?
Good info! I got the e book 👍🏼
Thanks Al! Let me know what you think of it!
AC Service Tech LLC I will 👍🏼
I just bought it, thanks
Thanks Solvin, let me know what you think of it after reading!
When is the work book scheduled to be available
Do you make reference to Celsius as well as Fahrenheit?
Hello, first thank you for your very informative videos. I have gaind my Universal 608 EPA certificate in order to become a HVAC technician. I am not sure were to start and I would appriciate your advise . Thanks.

I have a question if u have they book in spanish version
Not at this point. I would really need to have a knowledgable tech that knows Spanish very well and that I trust because otherwise I wouldn't know if what they translated it into was absolutely correct.
We now have a Spanish version Ebook
