  • We bought a Westerly Centaur in August 2016, moved her from the West coast to the East coast of Scotland, Killed a starter motor, repaired an oil leak, had to be towed twice, met some amazing people who helped us, and generally had a great time. since then we replaced the engine and have been working on a full interior refurb, She's not finished, but we are getting there.

What a great boat. I loved my Centaur and only upgraded to a bigger Westerly thanks to my dear old dads inheritance. A great seagoing, forgiving, comfy boat.

Having watched Keep Turning Left and Second Chance Sailing, I have come to really like Westerlys. They look good and dependable. The twin keels make them well suited to harbours here in the UK too. You have done a nice job on the interior, I look forward to seeing what you get up to next.

Fantastic to come across your channel. I'm refitting my centaur and I can't believe how exactly the same yours is too mine. Even the forward hatch support leg . Just I don't have the second front windows. It's like looking at my own boat. I've insulated my roof with camping mat material. 2mm. And I wanted beadboard finish. Thank you so much for doing that video. I'm a definite subscriber

Beautiful job love these boats. I just don't know how they sail compared to fin keel boat. Any advise will be appreciated thank you.

George Canakis The Centaur is a good old fashioned heavy layup fibreglass boat, they are very family friendly and can handle some descent wind.

Hey can I ask where you got the teak steps done and the main flooring in the boat, did you do it all yourself? Can you leave a link on where you got the teak if possible, thank you kindly! 😊

Jamie Moode it’s fake teak deck, it comes on a roll, it’s like heavy duty foam, and its really warm underfoot. We got it on Ebay, it is sticky backed, just peel the backing off and stick it down, and can be cut with scissors or a blade. My next job is the cockpit seating as it’s also anti slip but non abrasive on clothing. Just search teak deck, choice of colours too.
