Saitama IS a tragic character though. One common mask for depression is comedy (Robin Williams). Saitama’s depression may seem like a stretch until you look at it objectively. Yes he attained exactly what he wanted, but he gave up any sort of stimulation in the process. Recently he started hanging out with King but even the video games eventually became boring. He defeated his “Arch Nemesis” by accident in season two of the anime (can’t remember the manga chapter). His life has become so boring that fighting monsters is little more than an annoyance vs it being a challenge. Like the worst thing that’s happened to him was missing a sale at the super market. He has attained such a level of greatness that he has not only no equal, but outside of MAYBE Blast, he doesn’t have anyone who’s even close. He’s the only person in the entire story who is truly alone. Sure he has people around him but none of them can actually understand the things that bother him. Again it may seem stupid, but it’s actually pretty clever writing imo. One (the creator of the original content) has turned being overpowered into a bad thing and I REALLY like that approach.
It always confused me whenever people told me One Punch man was hilarious and fun, not even mentioning the tragedy in it. I guess for some people it's hard to pick up on, but if you listen to what he's thinking, saying, and what he does, it's very clear that he has Major Depression, King and Genos help him break the monotony of life a LITTLE bit but he's still clearly feeling it, with how quickly he gets angered to how bored and "eh, guess i'll go" about almost everything you can easily tell something's up, and those are easily some big signs of Depression. When someone does realize it's so tragic, I think it's because they've either had Depression/have it, or has known somebody who did, so they can pick up on it. The worst part is.... if he did snap and go crazy because of all the pressure, loneliness, and pain, I don't think ANYONE could stop him, not even all the heroes combined with the monsters. He truly is saving the world even if it's just by not going crazy.
The point about the sale is another side of his tragedy too. He's so powerful that no one even knows it. He struggles in the day to day matters because he is frankly far past scale of the others, and comes across as not doing anything because there is no risk, yet the only reason it seems to be no risk is he casually stopped it before anyone else could realize it. Then combined with his personality, he isn't even sure how to bring himself to a level where it can be appreciated.
I'm so glad you guys realised it too. Everyone says Saitama's a gag character, but they don't notice the deeper meaning behind the show; this rap captured that well. I've never had depression but even I noticed Saitama isn't mentally well & his life is extremely sad. He's so precious and a wonderful person, I feel bad for him... how is he gonna get out of this situation?
OH god, as long as he doesn't slap them as hard as Mosquito Girl they should be fine, but knowing Saitama, if he went crazy he probably wouldn't be able to hold back.
Honestly One Punch man is a tragic story of depression. It's just wrapped up in comedy. So honestly Daddyphatsnaps hit it perfectly. It's truly tragedy that we all laugh at.
Ye like I don't think I could have lived my life without my everyday troubles. I mean, yes they are sometimes boring, but in truth they play a big factor in life.
I think that when people hear "bored" it's a really casual kind of feeling they associate it with. It's not a typical thing to not experience any sort of stimulation. Feeling nothing or empty isn't usual, that coupled with knowing what used to make you feel something and just no longer having that is depressing. Folks that missed the tragedy in his story are lucky to not know what being bored with life feels like.
One of the most underrated villains for saitama was Boros. The guy managed to have saitama punch him seriously.that alone means if he engaged the earth heroes he would have wiped the floor with the entire association.he was the only one to ever get close to being any sort of equal
I mean it is a sad existence to get to a point where you can no longer feel accomplishment towards your dream/dreams because it’s literally impossible to struggle.
Tragedy But also I think there are some Nux Taku Saitama videos you should see that explain that saitamas growth as a protagonist in the series is his emotional and human connection instead of strength like most main characters
The fact that DPS doesn't put out more songs is a tragedy! truthfully wish all of you guys could... but I get it, it takes time and effort and sometimes we just gotta take what we can get.
I really don't see this as a parady show like saitama really dies want to have a good fight not just one punch I mean in like the first episode saitama got happy in his dream that the boss mole thing got up after 1 punch and that he felt pain
amagen he ate the monster fruit in season 2 probelly only didint ate because he deosint want to be stronger and make his live more anoying with the being relly tall people thinking your a monster wich you are and just being kinda ugly reasons he did not eat one punch man
this much dramatic song perfectly fits one punch man. the literal song was written from one punch man. you sound like your belittling one punch man😒 just because it has comedy genre in it.
"It's a cautionary tale to get exactly what you wanted" sounds so poetic to me

👍
The one good fight that he gets and it is undone by time travel. Bro can’t even remember that he got his wish.
Saitama is the most relatable tragic character, he's bored and can't do anything about it
yep
Saitama: is literally a fucking god
Me: "Hmm yes r e l a t a b l e"
Life is too easy for him and the thing that brought him joy is no longer fun
Never knew the tragedy of a bald man would be so fire
Also imagine if Saitama one day literally went insane and started slapping everyone looking for a challenge
OH god, as long as he doesn't slap them as hard as Mosquito Girl they should be fine, but knowing Saitama, if he went crazy he probably wouldn't be able to hold back.
Omfg i can just imagine his fan club looking at his serious face and he jus slaps em
just...
"So you are saitama right?"
"yes"
"you don't look like mu-" and they are on a shirt now
So basically, Hanma Yujiro on steroids
Honestly One Punch man is a tragic story of depression. It's just wrapped up in comedy. So honestly Daddyphatsnaps hit it perfectly. It's truly tragedy that we all laugh at.
I mean without any type of hardship life before life becomes pointless. Saitama only wanted to have a fulfilling life of action but now he can’t.
Ye like I don't think I could have lived my life without my everyday troubles. I mean, yes they are sometimes boring, but in truth they play a big factor in life.
I don't understand. I thought Saitama was always intended to be a a tragic character. I thought that was the point.
It is, but people don't take it seriously because of the comedic element in it, so the idea that Saitama may be depressed flies over people's heads.

If you like the take DPS took here you should defo check out "No one understands Saitama" by Nuxtaku :)
Love the way you break these down, also that shirt is awesome.

Yooooo dps is saying that power is bad when he has such a might
I mean it is a sad existence to get to a point where you can no longer feel accomplishment towards your dream/dreams because it’s literally impossible to struggle.
Tragedy
But also I think there are some Nux Taku Saitama videos you should see that explain that saitamas growth as a protagonist in the series is his emotional and human connection instead of strength like most main characters
Honestly, this song really does hit the essence of Saitama's character, just with the "for the lulz" stripped out.
The fact that DPS doesn't put out more songs is a tragedy! truthfully wish all of you guys could... but I get it, it takes time and effort and sometimes we just gotta take what we can get.
Had the exact same reaction!! 100 pts to @Shwabadi for keeping it a buck 24/7... you AND TRUE EVIL VILLAIN...
TRAGEDY!!!🤣🤣🤣
Tragedy. It’s a tragedy that this song is so dang good and I’m so dang late.. 😂 Great breakdown as always!
You can feel him standing in front of Garou and just grabbing a mic while Garou is asking him what he should do
With DPS you don't get what you want you get what you need.
This just in: Tragedy in city Z! Love it!
6:14 this song is great, as well as the reaction, but I think we're all missing the fact that Critikal is in Shwabadi's reccomendations
saitama with hair kinda slaps ngl (i only watched the first ep)
The more hair the powerful he gets.
The story of saitama is a tragedy man
Tragedy, can't wait for the Stevie's today.
I never knew tragedy could be so beautiful... Honestly though, I didn't expect this for a character like Saitama and it's a little bit confusing.
I just got recommended this next to a penguinz0 video and you look so much like him down to the beard and mustache.
I tried to make a pun or something, but I couldn't think of anything. What a Tragedy.
Tragedy this didn’t go on longer.

Alternate title:
Marcus Anthony Nichols realizes that Daddyphatsnaps can make even a bald superhero shitpost into an epic rap.

The TRADGEDY of an o.p main character.
Yeah its dps you dont get what you want you get what you deserve from the true g
this is a tragedy
what a tragedy
The amount of people that don't understand the meaning of what a parody character is, is a.... tragedy
amagen he ate the monster fruit in season 2 probelly only didint ate because he deosint want to be stronger and make his live more anoying with the being relly tall people thinking your a monster wich you are and just being kinda ugly reasons he did not eat one punch man
Hello!

Tragedy brah.
It's clear this guy never watched one punch man base on how he is talking about saitama
First
Nah nah
Why doesn't Saitama challenge multiple monsters at once?
Tragedy :D
this much dramatic song perfectly fits one punch man. the literal song was written from one punch man. you sound like your belittling one punch man😒 just because it has comedy genre in it.
think u may need to read a bit deeper if ur thinking it's just a parody
