I have watched this show for years and really enjoy it. One thing I must comment on is the general size of the fish caught now. I fished the Gulf rivers and the Cape during the 80's on numerous occasions and I have to say the size and quantities of the fish caught back then were bigger across all species and more numerous. Whether that is a result of commercial over fishing or the sheer numbers of recreational fishing that takes place now. I can distinctly recall going for weeks at a time without seeing another Fishers. My first Barra was just over 40lb and over a metre in length. Mangrove Jack, Threadfin, and Fingermark to 10-12 lb. Queenies over a metre that would destroy your gear. Massive cod you didn't want to hook up to. Steel trace was a necessity, no lures under 6 inch, we would take a few metres of 2x1 hard wood to rig up with steel trace for Spaniards in the gulf. Keep up the great work Bergie

I think it’s pretty unfair. I am a local in the Northern Territory and there isn’t one of the places to catch a 1 m Barra it was heavily pressured system ever after the spicy list. You could’ve done that easy in that area, but you persisted on chasing barramundi by the looks of it. Love your channel. That sounded like you didn’t want to give the price away.

Fished Byno Harbour for a decade an 80cm barra is like a 130 in other systems! And to not bait fish the reefs ? That guy got the rough end of the pineapple!
