The switch on the bottom in the right position uses the USB dongle at 2.4Ghz in the left position is purely Bluetooth so your pc would require built in Bluetooth or a Bluetooth dongle. This is fairly standard for mice nowadays
this adapter you was using in the second part of the video was designed by me - it has 3 modes of operation for mouse (Atari ST/Amiga and GEOS) and it is also capable of supporting any gamepad device you may have just like a standard joystick or even CD32 gamepad. It will be availabe on PCBWay soon. Version originally bundled with Tank Mouse was software locked to work with just this mouse, but hardware-wise they are all the same
Great job, it works incredibly well!!!
Hello Everybody, thank you Chris for your kind words in your Video. This Mouse was only used a few times, but as you saw in my Video, the screen was bobbing up and down, but glad you managed to solve this mystery. I was happy to donate it to you as it seemed a waste to just throw it in a Drawer, Chris can fix anything. You are correct, I didn't open the Mouse up, I just tried multiple times with the same results. The one I have now has been brilliant and its an amazing design. Batteries have lasted quite a while but its so easy to forget to turn that Switch to the off position. I enjoyed your Video and no need to apologise regarding the time to upload, your a very very busy boi.
Thanks Jamie,, it is very much appreciated =D I love this mouse!!!
I have one of these. Works perfect. Love it.
I am at 8mins into the vid, Bluetooth doesn't use that wireless dongle typically with most wireless mice, you need to move to the right/ wireless setting for it to work with the USB adapter (well, for my logitech it works that way). Bluetooth is for laptops/computers with Bluetooth support and thus doesn't need that USB adapter.
Bluetooth requires full pairing, wireless with the dongle just works without needing too much fiddling.
Of course! I mean when you don't have bluetooth on the PC - and in my case I don't =/
Plus the 2.4ghz wireless should have less latency than the Bluetooth connection.
I two from the Kickstarter. I use them on all my Amigas one less cable from the back. Now I know if mine play up what to do. Thanks.
Looks decent, although the shortness of that ribbon to the scroll sensor is asking for trouble!
I’ve got two, and both 9-pin to usb adapters needed their 9-pin female headers replaced. I frequently switch between a number of Amigas on my workbench and it took a surprising low number of plug/unplug cycles for the contacts in those cheap 9-pin headers to become unreliable. I get the cross-market between classic Amigas and modern devices, but I’d also prefer to see a fully wired 9-pin version of this optical mouse.
I was one of the Kickstarter supporters for this project. I am using the black one on daily basis. It is great, however the touch scrolling is weird sometimes :-)
Nice, modern take on the Amiga tank mouse. For some reason my A500 came only with Roctec mouse, so I've never used the standard Amiga tank mouse.
I've got cheap Rapoo wireless mouse for my Windows 10 laptop, as one tiny plastic clip of the touchpad button strip (left and right buttons integrated into one strip) is broken, so it's horrible to use. Tried to fix it but the clip failed again and got lost, never to be found again. Mouse is much more comfortable to use anyway.
Adoro il mouse tank, mouse AMIGA leggendario.mi fa piacere che hai risolto il problema. gran video!
i must have missed it, but did the mouse scroll get fixed in the end?
By the time I had reflowed the USB dongle and tested the Mouse on the PC - the scroll wheel just worked! Later when I took the mouse to pieces, I did find a hair stuck to the end of the scroll wheel sensor - was that it?!? All I know is it worked at the end on Windows, where Jamie couldn't get that working even in Windows.
@@GadgetUK164 nice, a wins a win.
Awesome Chris i gave Jamie a Atari 520 STFM with some games. Have you watched his video unboxing it.
Just watched that video - amazing of you to do that!!!! It looks great and I do look forward to seeing Jamie using it more in future on his channel =D
@@GadgetUK164 I had two the one i use is a 1040STE and the one i gave jamie was sat in my loft for 40 years lol
I ordered 2 from Sordan and one was broken inside, totally loose when fresh out of the box. I had to send it back at my expense and they wouldn't refund the postage cost from Germany which was about 20-25 euro. I'll never buy anything from them again. The replaced mouse works ok but unless you switch it off after each use, the batteries dont last long.
I do need a new mouse.. however I hate batteries in keyboards and mouses. Stuff should just work, not die cause of dead batteries.
I do like the concept otherwise, will check it out.
To be fair, the batteries lasted ages for me! 18 months ish, and that was where I left it turned on by mistake 7 out of every 10 times!
