Molveno: Exposed Trail Croz dell'Altissimo by downhill-rangers.com

This summer we've been at the Dolomiti Paganello Bike region around Andalo and Molveno. It's about 50 km north of Lake Garda. We loved the trails there (More videos will follow) One rainy day we tried this trail. (Bike No. 30 in the maps) It was marked as black trail through it seemd not steep. Then we know: some sections are quite exposed!

Diesen Sommer waren wir in der Dolomiti Paganella Bike Region. Das Paganella Gebirge liegt neben Turin, ca. 50 km nördlich vom Gardasee. Viele wirklich feine Enduro-Trails gibt es dort (mehr Videos folgen). Einen verregneten Tag nutzten wir, um uns diesen Trail anzusehen (Nr. 30 in der Bikemap). Interessant war, dass er in der Karte als schwarzer Trail eingezeichnet war, obwohl er laut Höhenlinien vergleichsweise flach war. Danach wussten wir's: einige Stellen waren doch ziemlich ausgesetzt.

Thanks! Actually the trail (or route in the map) starts from the gondola on a flat broad hiking trail (like at the end of the video). Then you ride the trail shown in the video but in the opposite direction. And at the highest point of this trail - where the video starts - a fireroad leads down to the valley. So you missed not much. Shortly after the video ends there is a junction which leads to another trail down to Molveno, but it's quite different so I did not want to show them in one video.

Is it possible to rent the bikes once i get there or i have to take my own?

They have some bike shops and bike stations with bike rental. One is in the bottom station of the gondola in Molveno. To ride this trail we came directly from the top station of this gondola. Search for "dolomiti paganella bike" for more info.

Mine is a Specialized Enduro S-Works 2013. The friend in front of me rides a Santa Cruz Nomad 2015. Both custom built. But for this trail you do not need an enduro bike. However you should feel comfortable on your bike because there are sections where you must not make a mistake!
