Dude Fire Staff Ride

In 1990 six members of the Perryville fire crew lost their lives on the Dude fire in Arizona. This video highlights the 1999 Dude Fire Staff Ride where those involved shared their stories on site to further learn from this tragic event.

It's hard to imagine how these guys and gals willingly hike through mountains of forests, thick brush or even rock and sands to fight these brutal firestorms face to face. Truly heroic in terms of self sacrifice from their jobs to their actions to protect others and even their property. Firefighters need to be appreciated much more. As a non firefighter citizen, I hope I can spread the word on the appreciation for these people.
