We are so glad you are here! Welcome to our channel!
1. We are in Oklahoma near the Arkansas border.
2. We do this on a volunteer basis.
3. Kim aka Mom is retired. Jennifer owns her own business as a massage therapist.
4. We film multiple locations in one day since we can’t go out all the time given Jen’s full time job. You may not see all the locations we filmed that day in one video.
5. You may see other people in our videos at times including Granny aka Sue (mom’s mom), Jeff (Kim’s husband and Jennifer’s dad), or Jessica (Jennifer’s little sister) and Lucy (our beautiful, amazing, wonderful dog).
6. Many wonder why we put stuff down culverts. A few reasons: it provides help for wildlife, we like to and it would have gone downstream anyway. If it blocks another culvert then we will take care of that too but most of the locations we visit are in incredibly rural areas where there won’t be another culvert for miles.
7. We care about wildlife and never want to cause harm to them. The only reason we will clear a beaver damn is if it is threatening land or roads that can not be accessed any other way. It may not be the road directly within sight but a farm road close by.
8. We appreciate advice in the comments. We understand that we will receive constructive criticism in the comments. What we won’t allow is the calling of names, derogatory terms, or just plain calling us stupid or idiots. We are all adults here and the internet is already a largely negative place as it is, let’s not add to it. We are people doing our best to help our neighborhood and planet by picking up trash and clearing culverts. Why do we deserve hate for that?
9. You may not agree with or like the way we did something but that doesn’t mean we did it wrong. There is a right/wrong way to dismantle a bomb. Clearing culverts is up for interpretation to the one doing the work.

You’d be surprised how much garbage just blows out of windows and the pickup part of trucks. Tossing out the window is likely not the cause

2nd to last, where the clog was stopping the Output instead of blocking the upstream side.... could have been a failed beaver damn in the pipe. You were just there to move the leftovers of the failure. Nice job checking on these Country Culverts.

It’s just northern part of our county. Lots of backwoods. Its about a 45 minute drive from our home

Every state, county & township is different. HOWEVER…..most places have taxes for bridges & roadways. Hopefully these heavily damaged culverts get replaced. As you can clearly see neglect causes failure & even more damage to roadways. Making them unsafe to travel. Even these country “roads” serve a purpose for people. Otherwise there wouldn’t be a road there. Unless it is a private lane some road department is responsible for it. Great job ladies!!

20:33 this amazes me how intense and high it gets here frequently!! Is it that the culverts aren’t enough for how much the water rises? Or is it because some of the culverts are clogged and clearly unable to be seen because how high the water has gotten?
Some of the culverts are definitely clogged but also this is the last bridge before it joins the river and lots of smaller creeks feed to this one before the bridge so it gets overwhelmed quickly.

There is a sinkhole in that road’s future!
Very clever to pass the long pieces of wood through the tube, if it gets stuck in the middle...! The best is to remove them and place them on the edge of the river...

@@shelleymaynard7913she puts the mic in different places. Sometimes close to her mouth and sometimes farther away so that’s probably what it is. She doesn’t sound any different to me.
