I had to laugh just as you were saying how you love a nice quiet spot with nobody else around an armada of paddle boarders sail through your swim!!! but to your credit you carried on and to catch that common on your first session was top top angling well done.

Loved it, proper result catching that on your first trip. Brought back some memories for me. I used to fish there from 1982 'til 1987 for Tench and Bream. Mostly at the bottom end around the second point. We didn't do many nights, didn't have the kit back then, but when we did we never saw or hooked carp but always heard a few big ones crashing out. Some of the carp in there were introduced in 1982 as 6 inch fish (probably bought from Simmo whose first fish farm was a couple of miles down the road at Fishers Green) when Redlands held a Pike match on there they had about forty in a couple of buckets to sell for live bait. We were on the river fishing for chub and Barbel but went to see the weigh in, only a couple of jacks and the small carp were tipped into the lake. Just after we moved downstream to the Relief Channel and Hooks Marsh in 1987 we heard some lads had fished seriously for carp on there and had a 36lb mirror from the top bay next to the weir. Most of the bars run at right angles from the Kings Weir bank and are very shallow, you can wade quite a way out on them. But there are some curved bars you can find about 40 - 50 yds out and from memory about 6 - 8 ft which I think are probably the old river banks and run more or less parallel to the bank. Looking forward to the next vid. Always wondered why no one serious had ever given Langridge a proper go for carp.
Heart break ridge … I used to be a member on kings weir river syndicate stretch . I fished that bank a lot and often had a look at the ridge . Vast piece of water with some huge bream to get through. That little bridge you go over etc .., wait until the river floods mate . The water pours under that and the whole lake changes as it flows out the old Lea in to langy and the relief . Don’t get caught out or you will be in the shit . Andy and the family at the fishery are absolutely bang on mate . Andy can’t do enough for you . Also the lads I used to chub and barbel fish with were absolutely spot on with me and I was travelling from Birmingham to fish it . They keep it low key 🌞👍🏻 Browny was the man that caught them .. river and lake .
