You are a super mummy! QUEEN! Thank you for sharing. I have two toddler children and I am wanting to homeschool them, so just seeing your example is awesome. Thank you
Thank you!! I enjoy doing DITL videos. I use them as a video journal. I like being able to look back and see what a typical day was like when the kids were younger. It will be crazy to look back in a few years and be able to really remember what life was like with little ones. And the kids love watching them too! ;)
Thank you so much for sharing your life and HS routines! Really helped me as I was having a hard time setting up a simple yet rich classroom within our home. You are appreciated!
I love your day in the life videos! Thank you! Great idea for work stations while having toddlers. I do a small inhome daycare and my oldest daughter will be starting homeschool kindergarten next year so I'm excited you gave that great idea.
I just wanted to express my thanks for generously sharing your video as it helps me a lot giving me an idea of what a homeschool life will be. My children and I had been preparing for homeschooling this fall. :)
Wow...I'm in awe...You manage so well with your childrens homeschooling and 2 babies...I seriously don't know how you do it!! I have 3 children and feel exhausted most days....You are an inspiration and a fabulous role model to your children...x
Love it! New subbie here. I love seeing homeschooling families with a lot of kids. I am just getting started homeschooling my 4 kids and I am making some videos about it. Your kids are too cute!
Girl, you are amazing!!! Wow! I just love being able to be all nosey in your house, lol! I find myself struggling to cut the apron string sort to speak, and let my kids do more independent work. I feel like I am abandoning them....crazy I know. But, thank you for showing how you set up their boxes. This gave me some things to ponder! And the bread.....YUM! I got a bread maker for Christmas and still haven't used it yet.....I will tonight! Lol
I need a bread maker!!!! LOL! You would definitely be surprised to see how much your kids can do on their own when you give them a little freedom. I am always close by if they need help and of course there are several subjects I have to teach daily, but I like giving them the opportunity to work independently. I think it helps them build confidence.
I finally broke my bread maker in and having been baking bread like I own the Hostess company, lol. I finally took the leap and implemented our own version of the work box system! This is the first week but so far my kids, especially my 13 y.o. Loooooves it!! Check out my vid on it when you get a chance (how we implemented the 10 draw rolling cart" it seems to be something that will work well for our family going forward. Thanks!!
Awesome!! I will check it out today!! We love the 10 draw work boxes too. I plan to pull them back out when the twins are a little older and are not so intrigued by them ;)
Thank you for sharing !! I like the idea of using the bins for now !! That could work for us when we travel!! ( we go on vacation for a month or so visiting family, but I bring work so the can keep up) also I could smell that bread thru the video!! Lol we make our own bread so I know the smell!! Lol thank you again for sharing!! :)
I think the bins would work great for vacation and traveling! I have also thought about getting canvas bags for each of the kids to keep their books and notebooks when we travel.. That may work too.. :)
Hi!! I'm a new (er) :) subscriber and LOVE your videos!! I wondered if you would ever do a video on how to start homeschooling. We are in the beginning stages, our youngest will be starting preschool, and I am overwhelmed with how to start. A video where you explained how you started out, at least with your older kids that would be AWESOME!!! Curriculum, how long were your "school days" in the beginning, just a few subjects, or a little bit of a bunch of subjects!!! Aaahhh!!! Its so much!! LOVE your vlogs!!!
Really enjoyed this video. So miss my boys being little. However I am still homeschooling 2. And one just graduated in January. So he is getting ready for college. Banana Bread looked fantastic. Your kids made a great choice on what to bake. Wish you guys were my neighbor:)
I homeschool my son who is 5 years old. It takes a lot of my time to plan the lessons myself and all the work I put into it because he has Autism. I can't imagine homeschooling more than one child. Kuddos to you!!
I went to a church where some kids got homeschooled. Was very impressed with it. First I'll say, the kids did not fit the stereotypes that I hear about homeschooled kids... but let that go. One woman I liked how she talked about her room for her son. The way she decorated it etc. But I just want to say too some of those kids went on to college. Anything can be learned at home. I remember by the time I entered typing classes in highschool, my speed was above average because I had spent one summer practicing with a self teaching typing manual. So for me all the lessons just improved what I could already do.
Awesome Sauce! I let my kids go to public school for one year because they wanted to experience it and I didn't want to have them hate me for never letting them go...well, they BEGGED me to return back to homeschool...they were so advanced that they were bored and they hated the other elements of public school: bullying, cursing, etc... I have been worried about if I can do it again... so we prayed and decided to go back to what is OUR normal...homeschooling...so pray for me...I loved your vid.. God bless you
can you post your bbq beef recipe video... love more recipe videos. Always looking for things to throw in the crockpot in the morning before we start school for the day
Here's a great natural home remedy for your entire family. This is our family's (3 generations) Cold and Flu Buster of my Grandmother's simple recipe: 2-4 cups of water or more depending on how many bowls you will make. 3-4 clove pieces of chopped garlic, a whole onion (Yellow or red, but white onion is just fine. Chop 2-3 potatoes (Idaho russet, red, etc.) to the size you prefer for chewing, Add a dash of black pepper. Bring ingredients to a boil. Then on medium to med-high heat boil until potato is soft or medium firm. Serve as soup. Enjoy 1-2 bowls and you are on your way of being restored! I have found adding a little (1/2 to 1 teaspoon ) turmeric does wonders too for my family. Since this recipe and Black seed oil, Fresh pineapple; we've haven't been to the store in years for cough medicine, fever meds, etc. Everywhere I go, and someone is sick, I end up sharing my Grandma's healing recipe. God bless.
The great thing about having a large family is that you don't just wake up one morning with six kids in the house! God eases you into it, so by the time you have a houseful, it really doesn't seem too much. You get better at things, put systems in place that work for you, and the older kids start being able to help out (even if their "helping" isn't always faster or done as well as if you had done it yourself). We spend quite a bit on homeschooling lately - my husband gives me a budget of $1500 per child per year. But we used to only spend about $200 per child. The less you spend, the more time you'll spend making materials and searching for free downloads and going to the library. The more you spend, the less time I find it takes on my part. So it's sort of a give-and-take sort of thing - you can either have it cheap, or easy, but not both. But whichever balance you strike, I have experienced time and time again that the Lord will provide for your homeschooling needs.
I have a question- are you serving at church right now or just focusing on your homeschool ministry for now. Neither is a bad answer to me but I was just wondering about your thoughts on this subject :)))). Love your videos!!!
I am not currently serving at church. We just moved here, so we have only been plugged into our church for about 2 months. We plan to host a midweek small group on Wednesdays in the near future. (Hopefully within the next couple months) We do currently attend a mid week small group and the kids come along and get to play with a handful of other kids. We definitely think it is important to be plugged in. I'd like to be serving, but are so new at this point we are still trying to meet people and figure out where we would be most needed. I definitely think of our homeschool as my top ministry at this point in time, but feel like I am able to serve else where as well.. Hope that answered your question.
Thanks for your vid. I am researching home schooling. hope you "eat more kale" and stay healthy… I have found cooked foods are much less important than raw fruits, vegetables and salad. btw, you can use oregano extract and olive leaf extract as natural antibiotics (remember anti=against biotic=life) also eat raw fermented cabbage or kimchi (easy to make at home and very good for gut health) John 3:16
Ask yourself, what do you remember learning form when you were a kid? If the answer is related to the things you were interested in, then just let the kids learn what they are interested in. Need and interest is the fuel for learning for real.
I've been starting to lesson plan for next year and my daughter will be in kindergarten. I was looking through her handwriting, A Reason for Handwriting, and I notice there are only 52 lessons. I know you've used it before. My question is, do we move on to the next book right away or just be done for the year? With her doing handwriting daily, she will finish that book in about 3/4 months with holiday break in there!
That is up to you. We used Handwriting without Tears this year and my kids finished early as well. We went straight to the next book.If I remember correctly in A reason for handwriting each lesson is spread out over a few days. So it may last longer than you think.. Although that may just be for 1st grade and up...
Hello. I'm not sure what state you are in but I was wondering If you wouldn't mind giving me some advice on homeschooling. I've been looking into it and it's so overwhelming because of how many different ways you can go. I feel like talking to someone who has been through it and started it already would be great. I look forward to hearing from you.
We have always done it, so it doesn't feel difficult. I guess it is just normal for us. Before the twins were born and we moved my husband was a worship leader for our church. So we attend every week and I always had to get the kids to church on my own. I think it just became my normal. We have some kids that enjoy sunday school and other who prefer to stay with us and we are fine with that. Currently the twins are going through separation anxiety and we get called out of service after about 10-15 minutes. So we usually watch the service from the foyer and let the babies walk around.
I have homeschooled for 18+ years it doesn't always look the way you have presented it here because you have replicated school at home and most people will only be able to do that for a few years and be burned out. Charlotte Mason methodology was how we homeschooled and I currently have tow finishing up their Baccalaureate degrees and one finishing up his last year of homeschooling. Homeschooling isn't for everyone but when it becomes a part of your life verses something that 'you do' that's when the family becomes lifetime homeschoolers. I've seen the benefits and it works well. However public and private schools have also worked well, it's an educational choice and there's no one correct answer. Find what works for your family and what you're most driven to embrace...
Hurry for homeschooling parents. I homeschool since 21 years now. I learned so much from it. I had 5 kids, I am down to my last one to homeschooled and It worth it...
And I have a great day. it is a good idea to have to be able to get the most important thing is, and I have a great day. it is. I will be able the only one that has
You are a super mummy! QUEEN! Thank you for sharing. I have two toddler children and I am wanting to homeschool them, so just seeing your example is awesome. Thank you
Thank you so so much for a day in the life of a homeschooler and being so vulnerable with your life and kids. Helps a lot as a new homeschooler! :)
Love seeing the DITL videos! You are a super mama! My kids go to public school, but love seeing how a homeschool is run.
Thank you!! I enjoy doing DITL videos. I use them as a video journal. I like being able to look back and see what a typical day was like when the kids were younger. This was super helpful! Thanks for showing how you prep the night before!
I love seeing homeschool videos. I'm still praying I can start homeschooling my children in the fall. Thanks for sharing your box system.
Absolutely! I will be praying you can homeschool as well if that is what you feel led to do!! :) Keep me posted!!
Thank you so much!
Will be praying for you today! It took us a lot of praying and researching but it's been worth it!

Where did you buy the children's table? I have been looking for some like that and have had no luck.
I have no clue how you get all the kids to sit down. I feel like i spend most of my time arguing with my 6 year old about doing schoolwork. Any tips?
i like this. i plan to homeschool. just had my firstborn. is it hard to manage with many kids? and what about the pricetag?
Same here. My boy is 5 months old. I hope to have another child, and definitely plan to homeschool. Great video!

I love your family so much...
Thank you for sharing!
So do your kids finish their school work before lunch usually?
They do the same thing with the bins at my son's 5th grade class and they put the books they've read in it too.
What homeschooling program do you use? Or did you make your own? Thanks
I just love these. Thanks for sharing! :-)
I am so glad! ;)

How do you attend church with the small kids? Is it difficult for your family?

KEEP your KIDS away from the doctor if you want them to be healthy!!!!! I am a medical doctor turned to natutal Doctor now.
seems a bit TOO relaxed etc. know its not easy with kids BUT they did choose to have so many etc.
