- For Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's wedding, many people at first speculated that the Princess might opt for the tiara that her mother Sarah Ferguson wore. But in the end, the truth was not like that, Beatrice had the huge honour of wearing the same tiara that the Queen wore on her and Prince Philip's wedding day when she married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Apart from the Monarch's daughter Princess Anne, Beatrice is the only royal who has worn it. However, the Monarch has very stressed memories of this stunning diamond headpiece.

I was thinking isn’t Beatrice’s dress beautiful, now knowing the history makes even more stunning.
I totally agree, the only thing I can really criticize about the dress is how Beatrice had those puffy sleeves added. I design things like dresses for fun and honestly, if she wanted to add sleeves she should have gone with a sleck elbow length sleeve, I think it would have made the drees just that more elegant. but that's only my opinion she still looked beautiful.
The refashioned dress looked fabulous on her, and I think it was right to add the lightness of those organza sleeves - don't think it would have looked right with just the original straps, or with longer, sleeker sleeves, especially bearing in mind it is a true vintage dress. The tiara had a makeshift repair for the then-Princess Elizabeth's wedding because of time constraint, but it has been repaired properly since then which is why it doesn't look wonky any more. I don't think it was the Queen Mother who lent the tiara to 'her granddaughter' Anne, but HM the Queen who lent it to her only daughter when she married Capt. Mark Phillips.
She was just perfectly beautiful and shows how much the Queen thinks, trusts and loves her granddaughter! This information is just amazing!
Beatrice's wedding was more beautiful and more special than any of the more recent royal brides! The borrowed dress and the magnificent tiara that the Queen wore on her special day have more meaning and love than a royal bride could hope for, Beatrice you were Lovely!

Honestly, I admire how Beatrice opted for a more simple but meaningful wedding.
Out of all the beautiful bridal gowns and tiaras, I think Princess Beatrice's gown and tiara were absolutely stunning, and is my favorite.

The tiara and her dress truly are stunning. What a beautiful bride. I think my favorite combo of all the royal wedding garbs I’ve seen in recent years.
First of all, there was Nothing “wonky” about the tiara. Princess Beatrice looked just STUNNING wearing one of Queen Elizabeths dresses and this Magnificent tiara. I believe that she was THE best dressed bride since the Queens wedding. ♥️♥️🙏🌈🇨🇦🇬🇧
This tiara was the perfect one to wear with this dress, so classic and clean. Absolutely my favorite.

Sarah was slow in sharing her excitement for the wedding. She even went to do her TH-cam bedtime story show at 4pm the same day the princess got married. No doubt she was happy about her daughter getting married, but it's showing more of a "it is what it is" type of a reaction coming from her. But she's very happy and proud.
@@tpj604 don't forget there is the Corona Virus and limited person can congregate together. She did her part and left the young couple and their guest to celebrate. It's a pity some ungrateful people got all the pomp and pageantry and she didn't. Love and Happiness is most important. I wish them all the happiness in the world.

What a sweet and beautiful gesture from the Queen.
The diamond fringe kokoshnik is my favourite of Queen Elizabeth's jewels. Though, I admittedly prefer Maria Fyordorovna's "lost" kokoshnik, this one is lovely as well. It was, iirc, worn as a necklace (as most fringe tiaras are convertible) by Queen Victoria (and can be seen in a portrait from her early reign) and Queen Mary wore it as a belt at her and King Edward's coronation. It's such a seek and beautiful piece. It's terribly sad that it's become so fragile.

What a lovely, truly romantic wedding. Princess Beatrice was such a glowing and beautiful bride. The dress that was worn by Her Majesty so long ago was fitted perfectly for Beatrice and to top that off, the actual crown worn by Queen Elizabeth when she also with obvious love and happiness married the love of her life. Having seen some Royal weddings with so much press and anticipation it was so heartwarming to see such beautiful pictures just as they left the church. The photograph with Her Majesty and Prince Phillip a safe distance away because of the pandemic will always be one of my most treasured Royal wedding pictures. It was so sweet to see them making do and not waiting for an enormous public wedding because the love they felt could wait no longer, making it to me, a true love story. I did enjoy the chance to see most of the Royal weddings and I was pleased that through today’s technology we were allowed into these special days in real time. They were all lovely, brides, beautiful but I must say that in my heart this was my favourite. I pray that Princess Beatrice and Jack will have as many anniversaries as Her Majesty and Prince Phillip who just celebrated seventy-three years. The Queen Mother leant it to her granddaughter, the Queen leant it to her eldest granddaughter (Lady Louise is the youngest), King Charles will lend it to his eldest granddaughter, Princess Charlotte. However there’s nothing to say that this apparent trend will continue.
There’s nothing to say who wears what. It’s entirely up to the Queen.
Well from what I’ve observed the bride chooses favorites with the Queen then offering the tiara as the item borrowed. I’ve also observed the royal brides choose prior to becoming a bride. My guess as they were growing up knowing they’d get to wear a priceless tiara at their marriage

I have yet to listen to it fully, but that tiara caused stress to the then-princess Elisabeth _on her own_ wedding day! (Not now, nor b/c Beatrice's wedding.) It broke and had to be soldered back together. If you look at her wedding pics, the tiara was a bit crooked then (unevenly spaced). Not everyone stressed out over this, though. Queen Mum is said to have responded with, "Oh well. We have two hours, and there are other tiaras." :-) :-D Fun story in hindsight!
Perhaps you should have listened then, because you would know that the tiara got broken when Elizabeth was due to wear it.
