I started listening to KROQ in my Sophmore year at High School, in 1982. I miss all the old DJ's back then and through the years. After College I listened to Kevin and Bean, who unitentionally, seemed to herald the coming of a newer, corporate entity to its management. Richard Blade and Rodney on the Roq seemed to be the last holdouts from those bygone days, until Richard retired and they freakin kicked Rodney off of the station!! Now I hear Richard and the Swedish Engle on Sirius XM. Friendly voices from a bygone day.
Glad the algorithym gods sent me this vid, lol. So good to hear Kevin, Adam, Jimmy again. Good to finally know what happened to K & B show. I still listen to Klein and Ally now, and watch Jimmy's show on YT. Great stuff guys.
I worked at Safeway in Pasadena on Colorado Blvd..Jed the Fish used come in all the time and he invited Nate (co-worker) and me to the studio and we were interns for 2 days at the original office across from The Hilton Hotel ..we left because Jed kept hitting on Nate and it was very weird..we met Freddie Snake Skin..April..Dusty Street ..but when they got rid of Ralph Garmen..that was the last time I listened to KROQ.
People should know just how big Kevin and Bean were. KROQ in the 80's set the trend for bands, and music for the rest of the country. They literally could make or break a band. Poor man started Loveline, and Corolla got fame from it. Kevin and Bean were second only to Rick Dees, and they only broadcasted out of LA. Wow
I think the show was too expensive for management. These arent broke djs. Kevin and Bean had enough money to buy the radio station if they wanted to. Ralph Garmen is getting risidual checks from Family Guy and Ted for life and will get a part in every upcoming Kevin Smith and Seth Mcfarland movie. The radio station just wanted a cheaper show that could generate the same revenue.
Man. I was sad when Richard Blade left. The Kevin and Bean show leaving is just terrible. I started listening to KROQ in 1990 starting with Richard Blades flashbacks. Then I'd only listen to Kevin and Bean every morning until around 2010... I think. My favorite memory was meeting Kevin and Bean at Tower Records in Brea, CA. I got me a free KROQ sweatshirt and I think it was the Christmas cassette WHICH had the Shakespeare version of the Christmas Fruitcake. Still a holiday favorite. In any event, Kevin and Bean, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa May.. just the best team including many others.
The pissing and moaning of Kevin Ryder is just sad. You had a great run at KROQ. Dude, just be grateful for the time you had and all the money you made. At least you didn't sell out and take a gig at KLOS. That would be bad.
@@effurfeelingsI never even thought radio was a thing I would see myself enjoying until I heard Klein Ally and when Stryker was still there is when I finally got hooked. Only heard of k&b bc of Omar Kahn recollection of them. I also like when Klein sarcastically mentions big boi from time to time

Turns out Rodney was a rapist, a la Harvey Weinstein...
I remember Poor Man and Dusty Street. Legends
Bean's last day was the last day I listened to KROQ.
I stopped listening when they let Ralph go 😢 Glad this interview came up on my feed when I randomly typed in Kevin & Bean!

Kevin should mention his letting go of KLOS.
a funnier show you’d be hard pressed to find, the chemistry was gold, K & B, Ralph and Lisa May were hilarious on my drive to work
How I miss the magic that is K&B and the gang! Sorely missed every morning. Hope you all are doing great.

2nd to Rick Dees? That isnt a high honor. Its like being 2nd to the plumber or garbage man
They didn't do the music. Rick Carroll did. These dudes were late 80s n00bs
I will never listen to kroq again and haven't listened since that day kevin and his other people part of his show were unfairly fired
I miss a.m.s with poorman
Yeah, but Poorman was a dolt
Poor man was far superior to Kevin and bean
Dont Bogart that joint...myyy friend...

LOL That was the best.
Broadcast radio and tv are dead.

He's CBS era sellout
You know this was recorded less than a week after he was fired, right? It's not like he's still going on about this almost 5 years later 🙃🥴
Who’s Kevin Ryder?
LOL
If you're not from LA, then you won't know. If you were born and raised here, there was no way you didn't know about Kevin and Bean.

He's married to Merrin Dungey
I loved Corolla's Mr Bircham shop teacher bit in the early 90's, but nothing he's done since is worth a dump. His Buddy Kimmel is rocking it, though!
