Sir, I love your specific sense of humor .... I laughed to tears. By the way, this type of foam has a really wide range of applications .... I am taking apart my sleeping mat ...;)
There's no doubt that the contact cement fumes will make you high as a kite if you're not careful but for a strong bond with EVA foam, nothing else has ever come close. Something that we typically use in cosplay with EVA foam is a product called Plastidip, it's a rubber coating/sealant that comes in a spray can. Not sure if it's suitable for terrain pieces but it could be worth a try? Fantastic video as always! I always look forward to your projects!
Welcome to the house of EVA! Another cool build. Great production quality also. Gap filler / spackle also works incredibly well on EVA. Not only can you use it to plug gaps, but as chip it to make bullet holes in walls, or cracks in a road/ sidewalk surface easily. Love the ruined furniture in the rubble; it adds a lot!
Hi, I don't think I've ever had so much fun in front of a miniatures game scenery tutorial. I really like your quirky style and your quirky humor. And the idea of using Eva Foam is a great one. In short, you just won a subscriber. Vol dikke kussen/Betches from Belgium !
Glorious work, as always. Also, thank you for this. My daughter wants a Celestine costume badly and I've been at a complete loss as to the best material from which to craft such a thing. EVA foam to the rescue!!
You are a madman, and consequently, also my hero. I have been mucking about with EVA but only as detailing - I never thought to use it as the actual structural wall. Genius! Those ruins (alternately one could say roo-eens because they are awesome) would look right at home with Burgess Meredith sitting down with large mounds of books. Cheers!
Been waiting to see these glorious ruins since seeing them on Facebook. The weathering and detail on these are superb. Got some ideas I want to test out now. Thanks as always, was a great video.
Looks cool. My girlfriend thought they looked off. It's pretty rare to find buildings that have the same colour as the sidewalk. I think she has a point.
Totally missed this one! Fantastic and I can’t wait to use some of these techniques! I’ve got some EVA laying around and you’ve inspired me! Thank you!
Great video as always. love the terrain, but got an extra kick out of the a/c unit and the school chair. Also, it made me happy to see that apparently good 'ol Bill Hicks made an impression on you guys, way the hell over there in Belgium- land of my favorite beers. Good comedy is universal, it seems. Have a great week.
@@DarkMatterWorkshop You're welcome, and at least his comedy is out there for everyone to enjoy still. Keep on cranking out these fantastic builds, and thanks for the reply.
I am delighted to see how the crafting community is discovering this material which is pretty much the lifeblood of cosplay! If you wanna see a pro handle it to make incredible stuff and steal tips on usage, give a watch to Kamui Cosplay, Svetlana has many tips, from usage to a full comparison of primers, to tips on the dremel, to using that foam clay and more. A relatively recent build of hers, a biomechanical bone gun from the game Outriders, is a mind blowing display of what you can do with it, and coincidentally should hit very well your aesthetic tastes so it would be an enjoyable watch even if you grasped nothing from it.

so how flexible are these ruins once they are completed? I would love to see a stress test against regular plastic terrain
The bases are flexible, the walls not so much. I think the eva is going to be more durable, especially with the hard wearing ‘cosplay’ primers.
