From a white water rafter with a cougar aire cataraft I've seen Sellway falls and was scared somehow it would drown me standing on the road. I don't know how you guys do it in the kayaks. I ounce got in one in 3 feet of water in a Eddie on the salmon river immediately turned upside down and thought I was going to drown. You guys make it look so easy. Truly unbelievable!
Holy actual fuck! That's RAD! I remember chasing giant Clearwater steelhead around, starting nearly 2 decades ago, and when the big river blows out, the Selway was usually still fishable.... Point is.... We ran into lots of yakkers that would joke about running it at what I'm pretty sure was 12K cfs. Might have been 10K, but still....... . . ..... Yer fuckin nuts! Lol! Wildly entertaining video, and killer choice in music to go along with it! Kick ass dude!
Speed, angle and trajectory are everything in kayaking. You need to exit the top of the eddy with a proper upstream ferry angle to give yourself the speed and trajectory for the rapid and then you adjust your angle. Weaseling out of the bottom of the eddy with out a proper ferry angle kills your speed and trajectory, which is a recipe for disaster.

My heart was racing for you man just watching the video. A swim in these waters is almost certain death isn't it?
A swim would be pretty scary but I think you’d survive, especially because we had a lot of safety
Yeah you guys ordered up some serious stout.
