Charlton Automatic Rifle: New Zealand's Emergency Firepower

During World War II, New Zealand developed the Charlton Automatic Rifle as a self-defense weapon when the UK was unable to support them with weapons. The rifle was a modified version of the Lee-Enfield rifle, with approximately 1500 rifles produced in New Zealand, but they were not widely distributed and were mainly intended for local defense forces.
