Nowadays, the idea of two kids travelling to defeat the dictator of China feels more powerful than ever. I remember seeing this when I was 5 and didn't quite get the story but remembered the story being really intense.
Great series and the opening brings back fund memories of these series. Unfortunately I dislike the part with Giovan at the end. He could have taken down the empress, but didn't. Instead of that he lets 2 children go through danger while China is in a civil war also. Also that he shows that he was certain people, that is a big no for me. Sorry, but that ending was bad in my opinion. But when Jules and Julie run away at the end, that is something that I can get behind. They know that their fathers are freed and out of danger. However the prospect of being seperated forever is something that they don't want to undergo. So yes, that is a great part of the ending. Also the rest of the ending, except for the Giovan part, was good. Loved the series and this song does bring back good memories.
agreed, even as a kid watching this, I felt the ending cheapened Sebatier's sacrifice when he was revealed to be an immortal supernatural entity. Still an outstanding series for the time.
