This kind of fishing can be had with regularity. However it is dependent on lake level, water conditions, and available near shore drop-offs and structure. Every few years it all lines up and sometimes it runs several years. Currently it is tough without a boat but Fall will bring opportunities. On the dock at night can be good on weekdays with a light to draw bait. Best of luck and thanks for your comment.
This location is at Rattlesnake Cove which is off North Lake Rd. There are many other areas both up and down lake that can be shore fished with good results for the knowledgeable angler.
I would fish beginning in February and continue through first week in June. Float tubing, kayaking, or boating make things easier as you can cover more water. All day early and towards May early and late day. You can catch them at night in Summer using lights on dark nights to create a food chain. If you are on shore at night you must have deep water close. From a boat you can catch them all Winter on deeper structure. Depth finder is recommended. Lastly do not be afraid to try different colored and types of lures. Perhaps we can fish sometime, Good luck.

If you go, fish before first light until perhaps 9am for Crappie. Look for drop-offs close to shore and structure. I would then switch to crankbaits for a couple of hours and target Bass. Lastly keep your eyes open for feeding fish chasing baitfish. Good luck.
It really depends on water level stability. Additionally the consistent shore bite is a year to year thing dependent on rainfall and a stable water level. The fish will set up and hold on a number of spots with structure and drop offs near shore. This year with the fluctuations in level they did not set and were hard to catch from shore. We will see what 2020 brings.
There is no charge just an AZ Fishing license. I am going to fish for them tomorrow afternoon or Monday. I do well around weather fronts. Good luck and have fun.
I am always up for some fishing. Currently I am doing a good deal of prospecting. I think the best bet now is night fishing and setting up a food chain with floating light and lantern on moonless nights. I have been doing this since I was a kid, it works. This trip was early April I believe. The bite however lasted a full 3 months. Later in May it became a time of day bite.

Catch and release only? Or can you keep any?We use to go there when I was a kid.
You should give it a shot and spend some time at the lake. Catfish should be going off and we have caught many on the grubs. Great fun.
