@KSCreative1 -- Intervals were mostly 2 or 3 seconds, with exposure times of 1 or 1.5 seconds. 20-30 minutes of shooting resulted in 16-30 seconds of video (24 or 30 fps playback). The clock towers had 10-second intervals, and the highway drives had a 1-second interval.
Fanfreakintastic! I've had a love affair with K.C. since childhood. I lived in rural Mo. but spent a lot of time in K.C. as a kid visiting relatives. One of my favorite things was to go downtown at night, in that general area near the Scout statue and also by Liberty Memorial, just to marvel at the lights, the planes taking off, etc. That was in the '70s so the night lights are even more fantastic now! Thanks Wesley for putting this together & sharing this.
@Wessasaurus Thanks! I will do so! The show is called. "The Everyday Concierge" and it airs on KCMO, Talk Radio 710 at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings. They won't let you post a web URL in these comments, but show's website is everyday-concierge. (with the usual ending) Thanks again. A beautiful piece of art. Duane
Nice job!! The music was perfect, the timing between scenes was great. I noticed some of the shots were taking while the sun was going down!! Big thumbs up.
WOW you did an amazing job! Thank you for doing this great video! I love my city! I am living in California but moving back home THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!!!!!!! Kansas CITY MISSOURI!
@hellrotbill -- Numerous trips downtown May-Dec when I had time and when weather agreed--a tough combination. (Still several scenes on my wish list.) I used Quicktime Pro 7 to make a short .mov file from the 500-750 photos of each scene. Then I used iMovie to combine the scenes and the music into the final product. As soon as I have access to something better than iMovie, I will make a truly HD 1080p version without all that pixelation in the skies.
Very nice work! What intervals did you shoot at? I always look for stuff to show off the city I love, so this is the perfect platform, thank you for developing and posting this video... Awesome!!! Gc
Nice work. How long did this project take you? What was the workflow process like taking all those photos and converting to video format? Was it something like Finalcut? I love the great footage people are capturing with their GoPro cameras out there too.
Click on the gear icon on the bottom right corner of the video window to change resolution, up to 720p. It might not be available on cell phones. Use of 1080p version is available--contact me.
This is a fun idea - the airport sequence was particularly fun - but I find some of the sequences much too long, particularly the first one (with Scout statue). Notes from a native: The lights no longer change on the top of the Power & Light building (sad), and playing in the Crown Center fountain is no longer allowed (dumb).
Strung together hundreds of photos at 30 fps. Each photo was 16 MP resolution. This allows me to zoom in digitally and still retain full 1080 HD resolution (which is about 2 MP).
Great video, kansas city has come a long way the last 10yrs...clean downtown...and that new kauffman center will attract new businesses , kind of the same way the NASCAR track did for KCK i believe the KAUFFMAN CENTER could do for downtown

Great video, showcases KC well.
So excited going to to live in this city and study in it :)
Nicely done!
Stunning. I have a radio show about Kansas City, and I would love to put this on my website - with attribution, of course. Would that be possible?
Kansas City is not my favorite city, but this video makes me proud to live here

Wonderful Job!!!! Did you speed up video or string together photos?

Amazing!' Where's that neon clock?? It'd be great if you'd let me know! Thx

Click on the gear icon near the bottom right corner of the video to change to a higher resolution.
Wesley Richardson goo.gl/EUdk84 yes i know how to make a video HD ;) its just not an option
Works for me everywhere I've tried it. Might be different if you're viewing it on a phone.
Not on a phone idk what the deal is... Oh well still an amazing video :)
