      @LimpyLegolas 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@odlfmariner470tap water is 100% fine in the US what are y’all yapping about. 😂
      It has an EPI score of 90. It is factually perfectly fine. EU has the best water in the world, but I would hope a developed country 1/20th the size could do things like that more consistently.

    • @drSvensen
      @drSvensen 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@LimpyLegolas I like the US, and usually stay away from the NA vs EU battle, but why do Americans always bring up the size of the country as an argument? Fine there's more people to service, but there's also more people that can provide the service it makes no sense.
      If you only mean the area size then it also doesn't make any sense. USA is 3x times more densely populated than Norway which has an EPI Score of 100. If you meant the other way around that it was too densely populated, the US is 12x times less densely populated than the Netherlands which also has an EPI Score of 100.

    • @LimpyLegolas
      @LimpyLegolas 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@drSvensen yes, both due to the area and the population. The problem with everything you said is you are talking about averages and treating them like they are true and consistent everywhere.
      You say US has more people so they have more workers, yes that is true sheer quantity wise but it’s not about the number it’s about the percentages. US could have 10x more workers, but that doesn’t matter if they have 20x more people to service per worker.
      An easy example, school A has 1000 students and 100 teachers.
      School B has 5000 students and 250 teachers. School B has 2.5x as many teachers, but guess which teacher has it harder? The one who has to worry about 25 students, not the one with 10.
      Cuba only has a population of 10m but has the highest ratio of physicians to citizens by a lot.
      So US may have more workers in a field by sheer volume, but if they have less per person than someone else they are in fact worse off.
      Same with you talking about “population density”
      Comparing the population of the US as a whole would be like comparing the density of Europe as a whole. It is not consistent at all. Population density of Wyoming is 6 people per square mile, New Jersey is 1200.
      So you think it’s accurate to say “well New Jersey and Wyoming have an average population density of 600.”
      Yes it’s an average, but not an actually accurate number for either of them. Norway is less densely populated in some parts of the U.S., but also way more densely populated than others.
      At the end of the day it’s pretty silly to compare the two. US is a lot better in certain aspects, Europe is a lot better in other aspects.

      A lot of Americans drink tap its fine it depends on the region here too. The U.S. is just below a lot of European countries in how safe their drinking water is. If you have unsafe drinking water here its due to an environmental disaster, or more likely very old drinking water infrastructure like old pipes. So many Europeans get this idea that Americans cant drink out of their sink from people who just don't like it as much as bottled. Its more of a culture thing and when they only get that exposure from streamers it shows. If people here are worried about their water they just buy a water purifier.

      There is really no difference between water if its clean. There can be a difference in minerals or elements present in the water which alters the taste or feel, you can have "hard" or "soft" water depending on these minerals. But generally if you buy bottled water its the same as tap water but they might control what minerals are in it. If we are speaking strictly about taste or feel, yes water can be significantly different but you would have to be a sissy to care. In terms of difference in what it does in your body, no there is absolutely no difference unless you are a moron that drinks distilled water.

    The water in NA isn't the problem. The pipes that bring it usually are. So. Much. Lead.
    I live in a pretty decent area in far northern Michigan and our water reports aren't good. I filter my water at home.
    Remember, the U.S. were one on the final hangers on of lead products. Despite knowing it was poisonous. Leaded gasoline was finally banned in the U.S. in 1992, if I remember correctly.

    we in EU have some kind of independent organization that tests if tap water is safe in the area. i'm personally from an area in Poland labeled "very safe" and there still is A LOT of people who buy bottled water. maybe they're just rich, either that, or i'm sorry, i think it's just stupid otherwise. wasting money AND energy to go and buy it every week. pointless to me. again, considering our area is labeled very safe. i understand that maybe america's is not as safe. in fact, even like half of poland is labeled "not safe" last time i checked.

    Tyler1 probably just doesn't like the taste of tap water in the states. I know in Texas it's pretty hard water so it tastes much stronger than if you filter it as it comes out of the tap again. Something like 97-98% of tap water is safe in the US (for reference, on par with most other developed nations at 95-98%). EU people coping. Why do you think Flint was such a big deal if all tap water in the US was poisonous?
