It was not until India attacked Pakistan on the international boundary. They never thought that the line of control is different from the actual boundary because they do not really want a Pakistan. Even today, they think that Pakistan will cease to exist and assimilate. So, please do not discredit our Shaheeds. I think this was a holy war because Muslims were being persecuted for being Muslims. They were not given equal rights because they were Muslims. Today it is different and a war today over Kashmir might not be a holy war or something. Only Allah knows who is a shaheed and who is not. As a Pakistani, I wish there is peace. Peace with dignity and I wish that any General playing mischief pays heavily. However, I will never forget the sacrifices of our Army Jawans and officers. Quaid -e- Azam sent 500 fighters to Indonesia. I know we are not strong enough to do such a thing and it might not be wise to do such a thing but we cannot have our foreign policy if we are a part of India. So yes it is a holy war. Do not tell us otherwise

At the time of partition the J&K was a princely state and it was also a muslim majority state. Initially the maha raja of J&K decided to remain independent of both PAK and India but later on it was evident that the muslim majority wanted to be a part of new Pakistani muslim state so the maha raja hari singh acceded the state to India against the will of the Kashmiri muslim majority. That caused a major Indo-Pak war which resulted in 3 pieces of the state i.e. IOK, POK and Laddak + Aksai Chin respectively taken (or occupied) by India, Pakistan and China.
