    I love all them multi color yarns i have bought 4 of them so far . Have enjoyed all the random designs not the least bit interested in matching each round perfect if i did i would purchase solid colors an work with those . Have seen alot of tutorials of this same yarn an it just stresses me out watching all of you trying to get it perfect. I think people are getting really obsessed with it an trying to compete with each other. Crocheting doesn't have to be perfect. Enjoy it .

      I definitely know what you mean!! It is starting to feel that way for sure. I saw a few tutorials and was like “I want to try that and see how it works!” It is a bit stressful when it comes down to it, and yes! Crocheting is fun and meant to be enjoyed. Something like this can take the fun out of it. Thank you for sharing! I really appreciate your comment and watching 🤗💞🧶

    I picked up a skein in the Aran Cream color way just to try the yarn out.. I had seen several videos about it and I knew frustrating moments might lie ahead so , like Frank Sinatra, I did it my way.I really like the concept of this yarn. I am so glad that you posted a positive video even showing the challenges trying to find the right tension and hook size to make this yarn work could bring.I can't wait to see what projects you come up with for it.

      I’m glad you did it your way! I think that’s the fun with this yarn is you don’t have to do it exactly as the instructions say. I’m glad I made it positive too! I think some absolutely loathe this yarn and others adore it! Haha, thank you for being here! 💞🤗🧶

    I bought 10 skeins of this yarn, I got the soft white I think it’s pink punch, soft white amethyst, soft white frigid, then black neon lights I think is the name. I finished 2 skeins one of the pink punch and one of the amethyst. I love the colors so far. For me I figured it out pretty quickly, but I watched so many videos on this yarn before hand. I use a 6 mm hook for the first four rounds then I switch for the last round to a 5 mm I start with the 4 inch tail and do the ch 4 with the slip stitch to start ( I can’t figure out the magic ring). Then I do a stacked single crochet for my first double crochet. I do 2chs in the corners and no chains in between clusters. I basically followed what passioknit Kelsie did when she was working with it.

      I love this! Yes!! I for some reason didn’t think to size down the last row and that’s brilliant! I’m going to have to try that. I should also do that stacked sc like Passioknit Kelsie does because it looks like a nice clean transition. I’m so glad you shared your tips because I think I’m going to have to try it! Thank you, thank you! 💞🤗🧶

    My corner is also a change to. However, whether I change between each cluster depends on the kind of work, I am going for, or if it is or is not a blanket or a very small baby. I think Granny squares look great both ways.

    I have watched several videos of this yarn including this one and I have decided this isn’t for me. I will continue to use several skeins of yarn over this. Thank you for the video and the work you did to create the square. My tension is tight as well so this was great for me.

    • @crochetdaybyday
      @crochetdaybyday  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree! This yarn is pretty stressful if I’m being honest. I love the color combos so I don’t have to think about it, but I also want to create my own?! If that makes sense. I’m glad this video was helpful for you to decide this isn’t it haha. Saves some money for the yarn you really want 😉💞🧶🤗

    I just bought 2 skeins! I'm excited to work with them once i find my groove lol I am struggling with them right now haha

      @crochetdaybyday  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know what you mean! It took work! But once you find your groove it’s so much fun!! My tension and hook size was definitely not what they suggested because of my own way of crocheting. I like how we are able to adjust the hook size to make it work though, so fun!! 🤗🧶💞

    My goodness you’re fast! I was crocheting while watching and I’m just so slow in comparison 😂. Anywho interesting concept. At first I thought it was going to be a bust, but glad you figured it out, they do look really pretty in the end. I’ve never actually made a granny square before so I can’t really comment much further than that. I think I’d probably get frustrated and give up before getting there myself.

    • @crochetdaybyday
      @crochetdaybyday  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s a lot of fun! Surprisingly! After I found the right tension it worked pretty well. I think the yarn is about $9.99 US, but I got it on sale for $7.99? Not sure if it’s worth grabbing one, but it is self striping so could be used for a blanket or anything else besides a granny square haha. Thank you for watching and commenting! 🤗🧶💞

    I have found with this yarn i had to go down to an H and still had to crocket very tight. I have the Aran cream. It seems to hide where it changes better than the darker colors.

      I feel like this yarn is all over the place with going up and down in hook size, haha. I haven’t tried the Aran cream, but I like the look of it. Maybe I should give that a try too! 🧶💞🤗

    Question unrelated to the topic, but related to the hooks you mentioned: Are the Clover hooks worth all the buzz? I’ve had them on my Amazon wish list for a while but they are over $70 CDN (I guess equivalent to ~$50 USD) for the set of 10 that range from 2.25mm to 6mm. And then the bigger sizes, which I can only find in singles, are $12-$15 each! Seems pretty steep, when they look very similar to the cheap ones I got in my first beginners crochet kit.
    I actually have been mainly using the nicer hooks I got with my Annie’s block-of-the- month club last year, but I only got 4 sizes (4.5mm - 6mm) which have been useful sizes so far, but would like to expand my range.
    Are these prices similar to what you can get in the US? And in your opinion are they that much better than your average hooks?

    • @crochetdaybyday
      @crochetdaybyday  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Excellent question! I remember a while back someone suggested them in the comments. I finally got one or two to try them out, and they were each about $10.99-$12.99 US. I’ve slowly been collecting them and pay about that cost each. I definitely think they are worth it! I mean, the price is a bit high, but I really love the handle. The way I hold my hook it just feels so good! I recently got a 6.5mm, 7mm and 8mm to expand my range and they are fantastic! I definitely recommend! The pack on Amazon I’ve seen go as low as $40 US so maybe when the sale is right? But outside of that they are in singles, which does add up.
      However! I got a cheap set with nice handles and those work well too, but I do prefer the Clover handle/grip. I hope this was helpful (and long winded haha) 🤗💞🧶

      @@crochetdaybyday my question was also long-winded haha! Thanks very much, I’m definitely considering picking up some of those bad boys. I guess $70 CDN isn’t that unreasonable, but I’ll look around to see if I can find them cheaper anywhere else. I think wherever I buy they have to be imported, which adds to the cost.

    The whole reason I don’t do yarn subscription packages, is it I prefer to choose my own yard. I feel like it’s wasting money when they send you your you would never in 1 million years use. Choosing my own cars is part of the fun., And I like for every granny Square to look a little different. I once made a couple, hundred traditional granny squares, using a different color in each round and trimming with black. I kept the bag of yarn beside me and just use whatever I felt like. So, again, I will not be buying this yarn. I don’t like to buy kits either, because I know that I am going to want to change something.it’s OK. If the rest of you enjoy this storm, I just know that it would drive me crazy.

    • @crochetdaybyday
      @crochetdaybyday  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hear what you’re saying. I haven’t ever tried the yarn subscriptions myself and I think it’s because I don’t know if I’ll like the yarn. I’ve certainly bought kits, and some the yarn color can be changed if you want something else, but not all of them. I do enjoy choosing my own adventure with colors, and for this yarn I think I like just letting it happen and not thinking too hard about it? At least for my brain 😂 the down side is certainly not being able to pick your own colors for sure! 🤗💞🧶
