  • In this video I explain how to setup a DIY irrigation system using automatic irrigation according to soil moisture levels. The systems uses the Hydrosys4 open source software and the raspberry PI.
    I share some tips from my experience and examples of data from real scenarios.

    Watching your presentation for the first time I didn't understand how deep you involved with the subject, but with a second and more detailed watch I discover how serious and a scientific job did you do. Many thanks and respect for your excellent work. An only suggestion as a future upgrade maybe you can create an android-iphone app, to convert it from a web based to a more conventional app for the final user. Again a big thanks for your nice work.

    Is it possible to set parameters so that at a certain time of day the moisture content threshold changes?

    How many plants can I monitor and water SEPARATELY.? I need 12 plants separately care for.

    Wonderful job men!... whats was the sensor that you recomend to use? Capacitive soil moisture sensor v1.2?

    • @hydrosys4raspberry19
      @hydrosys4raspberry19  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the capacitive sensor 1.2 looks like a good compromise for price and performances. About durability, I tested it for some months and it is still fine so it looks promising.

      @@hydrosys4raspberry19 I read somewhere that the Capacitive Sensor outputs too high frequency for Raspberry Pi, do you downscale the frequency before passing on to MCP3008 or is this fixed in v1.2 of the sensor?

    Ciao, dal tuo accento sembri italiano quindi ci provo a parlare nella mia lingua madre. la mia domanda è :quanti sensori puo' commandare il tuo sistema?se avessi bisogno di 50-100 piante da monitorare sarebbe una costo molto alto?
    Perchè non usi arduino?
    Grazie Paolo

    I wish people tested in actual soil instead of a glass of water. The difference between water and no water is easy to see, but soil moisture is more subtle, especially a few hours after watering, when the water has settled everywhere.
    Everyone tests in a glass of water however

      Please check the last minutes of the video, the chart shows real data in the soil. I have two years database of soil measurements an automatic irrigation with real data. I agree that setting the automatic irrigation is tricky, but it is possible.
