For those of you who wants to use this subwoofer only (without other 5 speakers) as a part of another 5.1 system - here is how to do that: 1. Disconnect all loudspeaker cables (cinch cables) and front right/imput cable (VGA connector) from subwoofer 2. Get yourself another computer VGA cable from unused monitor etc., and cut it in half (or whatever you like) so that you can reach wires inside. 3. Get yourself some kind of measuring instrument or ohmmeter or short circuit tester to determine which wire is connected to which VGA connector pin. You only need 4 wires for this mod. 4. To powerup subwoofer (without hooked up original VGA from front right speaker) you need to connect pin 8 to pin 12. Connect external switch to those pins as an ON/OFF switch. 5. To hook up subwoofer audio imput you need pins 6 and 10. Pin 6 is the audio signal wire and pin 10 is the ground (shield). Get yourself unused cinch cable cut it in half (or whatever you like) and connect middle wire to pin 6 and shield wire to pin 10. The other end of cinch cable goes to your A/V 5.1 receiver to "subwoofer pre out" cinch connector. 6. Switch subwoofer ON and you are ready to rumble! TIP: If you want to power ON subwoofer without ON/OFF switch - you can do that if you shortcut pins 8 and 12 permanently and than plug in your subwoofer's main AC power cord into A/V receiver's AC outlet on the back. Than you will have subwoofer running at the same time as A/V receiver itself. Here is the connection layout scheme : i67.tinypic.com/33eqtjd.jpg Have a nice day!
Hi. I have found your photo in google images. Now I'm trying to run this sub with two old passive speakers which must replace front ones to get 2.1 sound. Can we talk more detailed about this? I need good consultation cause I have almost done but it dont wanna work.
Mess mal einiger Meter weiter weg. Pro Meter gehen ca. 6db verloren.
just asking, is the z906 a good upgrade from the x530? I want to possibly upgrade my old x530 to another 5.1 system but I dont want to waste tons of money for a speaker system that isnt a good enough of an upgrade. I don't want to modify the speaker system.
All the logitech "z" series speakers have the same subwoofer but people think its different because some of the speakers have round dust caps and some have flat dust caps :)
The majority of them are tang band speakers, but they are not the *same* speaker. Some are made way differently to others. Some like the ones in the z906 is a quite big long-throw subwoofer whilst the ones in the z313 are more of a small short-throw subwoofer. They're made to adapt their boxes whilst performing incredibly well. Soe of the smaller subs may seem more muddy, though.
if active the subwoofer is sending the power needed to run the satellite tweeters so effectively even if you dont hear the bass woofer much, the sub is still doing all the power work, but will not kick in drastically if you dont send it sub frequencies, since anything the smaller woofers are sent by the cross over circuit will sound through them too, and that is most HZ in most tracks. Unless you have either wired things out of phase or mismatched the Ohm/resistance. I find the best way to know if the resistance is optimal is to check how much volume the speakers need. The better the match, the less power you need to send via volume (since there is little resistance). You can experiment with trying out serial instead of parallel tweeter wiring too. Usually parallel will draw power far more, and be louder. Adding speakers in series will increase the resistance (Ohms). Just be sensitive to what the system is telling you when you try stuff out... Sometimes it is the opposite effect so try it out...
119 DB at (i guess) arround 70 Watts in an distance of 5 cm. Dammit what is this :D? A good Subwoofer can make up to 100 db @ 1 Watt in 1m distance. Fuck this i am out of here!

For this size is good x530 how is frequency responde of x530 ?
why you dont have soft part on your db meter?
it's ugly and there is no wind gust.

i think you need after 1 meter use the db meter
of course, but for correct measurement need also reverberation chamber :(
how is the bass irl? is it loud?
For this side is more then good. Of course it not so low freq, then real 12" inch sub in bigger box.

I want that logitech x 530
just find second hand for 40-50$ :)
I have two sets of them. You won't get much bass in the 30-35 Hz region. It's sweet spot is around 40 Hz. But it does get loud.
i have this Logitech speaker
so 114 db the max?
yes, with some distortions
HOW? I have 15 inch Eminence Delta and the Max 106 db wtf..
no,is not 114 db!
because mesurment of db its made at 1m from the sours!
La sospensione del woofer è danneggiata nella parte inferiore!
i don't like that if i use those speakers that subwoofer does work only if my volume is like 100%
is there anyway that i can control my subwoofer somehow?
GamePelaaja on the back of the sub you’ll find a knob to control bass levels
if active the subwoofer is sending the power needed to run the satellite tweeters so effectively even if you dont hear the bass woofer much, the sub is still doing all the power work, but will not kick in drastically if you dont send it sub frequencies, since anything the smaller woofers are sent by the cross over circuit will sound through them too, and that is most HZ in most tracks. The sound isnt real, its mounted...
Maybe you're not real ? The sound is recorded with Zom H1 recorder in nearfield sound area, therefore it sound more neutral.
