- I found this old Suzuki GN for sale second hand. It was broken and leaking but there was something special about it that drew me in, so I decided to fix it up and give it a budget make over.
This film follows three months of weekends to get it ready for the first ride.
Thanks to Marty for helping me with the project.
Music: I wrote this music specifically for this video.
MOOG: The First Ride. Get it on iTunes and all digital music platforms
itunes.apple.com/au/album/the...
And at mightycarmods.com/collections...
It takes 37 muscles to frown
17 to smile
And just 7 to twist the throttle - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Than you for all the comments about the video and music. You can get the song here:

Thanks for the song and video.
Downloaded it yesterday (finally) and wow it sounds good in the car (thank you Mark Levinson!)
The smiles at the end say it all. Happiness in a vehicular nutshell. Love it.
yo guys definitely need more bike videos! loved this! would love you guys to maybe do your own cafe racer or mad turbo bike?
mcmtv2 please wear a full face helmet. If it weren't for one, than most probably I wouldn't have a lower jaw by now...
Wow, MCM can make a 6 minute video without a word being spoken that is better then 98% of the other automotive content available.
Thank you, Moog and Marty for all the amazing stuff!
Vegaspsycho literally better than ever TDIB video, better than Rob Dahm,
Vegaspsycho The rest of the 2% being other MCM videos ofc. (:
This was also better than _some_ MCM videos. This was very well made.
this is why these two have been successful on youtube for so many years. they just keep getting better
What exactly is TDIB?
put this on the main channel, this is art
I haven't ridden in a little over 8 years. I had a nasty crash when I was younger, some broken bones and needing a blood transfusion. I recently spent some time with a good, lifelong friend catching up and the subject of riding came up. Getting back on a bike after my crash was something I never overcame in all this time despite occasionally thinking about it. Anyway it turned out my friend has an old Superdream in his shed among a few other bikes which he offered me. I tentatively said yes, feeling it was a good time to get back into it. Watching this video has made me feel a kind of heartwarming excitement that I can't really describe and I'm left counting the days until that little Honda is sat in my garage and I can go out on it. Thanks guys ❤️
Just had a crash myself, after a 10 year hiatus not riding. Silly low speed fall, 1 block from home, hit the pavement hard, broken foot and lots of scrapes... Take it from me: it's all about the gear. Get good gear and WEAR IT ALL THE FREAKING TIME!
Did it happen? Did you get the Honda Superdream? Did you fix it? Ride it?
In this video we get a glimpse of the real Moog: not the lovable yet exasperating loudmouth but rather a serious and dedicated artisan and a beautiful human who gives and receives so much joy in creating the things he loves. Wish there were more videos like these.
I died a little when he painted over that beautiful orange paint. i loved the way the bike was turning out until that point. Still a nice bike, but the orange tank would have made it a head turner.
Its all about preference.. it's his bike after all. He's the one that will look at her every day so it should look the way he pleases.
kyle kelley I completely agree
Agreed.
I agree totally disappointed with the painting of then tank. I don't really care for orange but it would have popped nicely with the black.
At least left the logo's chrome for abit of contrast. Not convinced on the black-on-black
well that was unexpected and amazing
Exactly!
Very meditative. I really felt pulled in by the unspoken narrative of the build. The smile at the end was perfect.
And somewhat moving too
Moog love the original music to this - so talented - planning on adding this track to Spotify?
I didn't care for the build personally, but this video was very artfully done. Nice job!
Your smile at the end says everything anyone would need to know about building and riding bikes, their isn’t a feeling like it. Doesn’t matter if it’s a 125 or a 1000.
Getting my first bike tomorrow. (Probably) I'm here. Back watching this video just to have a look again and realized it took me more than 4 years.... Don't stop. And don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. Fight for what you want and keep always going no matter how hard it is. There's a light at the end of the tunnel and you might get lucky and find something beautiful. Cheers to the MCM guys and everyone who reads this.
as a fellow rider, not have you done us proud moog but you have captured the essentials of motorcycling: Customization.
You guys should do some more motorcycle work 😍😍😍
3 year later and still one of my favourite MCM videos 👌
Wow not many can capture what building and riding a motorcycle is, but that's it right there. Wow 👍
This was beautiful! I would love to see more motorcycle-related content if you have it!
HEROrr please
YES THET I LIKE
Yea motorcycles are awesome.
Didn't expect to see you here
Me too, be cool to see more motorcycle content!
Obviously it's a question of personal preference but I really liked the look of the bike when he had everything black but the tank still orange.
Same, when he was cleaning it on the bench I was really hoping it'd just be a polish and re-attach. The finished product looks awesome but I felt it needed the contrast.
Agree!
I feel the same way, but i dont think he should've painted the motor either.
I would have liked a black badge and left the tank orange.
I would have left it orange or painted it gray personally. But I'm not a huge fan of all black, Moog's 240 is also ALL black in the same way, along with the WRX and the Focus they just built.... something tells me Moog has a thing for all black lol
Best motorcycle channel in the world.
this smile has no borders. this happiness have no explanation, except for those who understand the value of two wheeled passion. this is life. this is love. thanks for it.
I love, love, love, loveee this format. Shooting on quality primes, getting creative with framing, and attention-holding pacing with fantastic original music; this thing really hit a home run with me. I know you guys can do some fantastic filmmaking and would love to see you guys stretch your cine-legs like this more often.
Thanks heaps man. Glad you enjoyed it!
mcmtv2 will the music be released? I'm keen to get it in my library. Smooth, Emotional and Ethereal. I think I just found a new favourite song.
I agree this was an awesome video!!! I don't think I even blinked through it!
You just described all the feels I was having! Great eye. Epic video
I know I did
Finally some motorbike action
Agreed
There's nothing like that first ride!!👏
Smile every time I watch this one
Well this is going in my favorites tab for eternity. Very well done
NEED MOAR!!
My question is how did I start it without the battery . He used electirc start .
Must used some jumper cables and took off with out the battery . You couldn't see behind his legs . So one guy filmed and the other did the cables after he started it he took them off fast
Looks like a smaller battery up under the seat...
Chicken Mac it might be I couldn't see it like 1 sec and you can't see any thing
YESSSS!!!! Mcm finally does a bike thing other than the motocompo!
This is one of the greatest MCM videos ever made in my opinion, I’ve always loved their content. I remember the days when they were working out in Marty’s driveway, it’s awesome to see how far they’ve come and the things they’ve accomplished. It’s awesome that they can still make new and engaging content for their viewers.
The original was so classic and beautiful! Now it just looks black. All that chrome was the catch!
Oh you guys just caught me by surprise in a great moment to do so! Thanks for being what you are!
This is so beautiful - I'm speechless. This video was work of art - main channel worthy!
Award worthy
This has to be one of the most beautiful bike makeover videos I've ever seen. You showed care and love of the job u was doing and turned a regular video into a story and that smile at 6.15 shows true emotion at the accomplishment. Simply amazing.
WOW... A man and his machine. Made me want to get back in the shop. Great job.
A man from Texas
That was awesome. Love the smiles!
I agree......we all shared a feel good moment with this one!
Your videos are awesome too man, where are the next ones coming??
Made my day
I never comment but this is the best video hands down this year. Throw a few bike projects in the mix for us all around gearheads
Everything from the cinematography to the music and the build as a whole was soothing. Loved it. Please do another one!
I haven't rode since my accident that totaled my Dyna, and this video made me go to my garage and get my sportster roadster started again and go for a ride. For that I thank you!
Marty and MOOG please upload more motorcycle content, and keep up the good work. Cheers from the land of polar bears and maple syrup 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
will be doing two build videos on my channel a fzs600 streetfighter and a gsx1100 chop if either of them get your attention
That was beautiful...
*tear rolls down my face*
Just the process of rebuilding a motorcycle is beautiful.
Awesome !
the smile on your dial says it all !
I would have left the fuel tank orange and just painted the suzuki badge black, but other than that...very nice, almost as satisfying as a good fank.
Kit Bloke i would of done a sublime or a plum crazy purple tank
Yup, I was completely behind the whole build until the tank got painted.
right? i am saddened, but i realize he probably wanted it to be blacked out. orange would be better tho
Yeah just that one pop of colour! But Moog is a bit of a prepper survivalist so I assume he wants it all matte black for running the post apocalyptic max max roads.
That would certainly work, I kind of like the idea of leaving that little bit of the original character myself, but each to their own.
Yes! Finally a motorcycle video! And it looks fantastic!
I come back here every so often, notto remind myself that I cannot ride a motorcycle again, But to center myself. To enjoy the music, to see the satisfaction of "Motorbike".
Still one of my favorite build videos.
Stunning. This should be posted on the main channel. More motorcycle videos!
I agree 100% It has an engine, some wheels and can move under it's own power - not to mention can be modified just as much as a car - should definitely be on the Main Channel.
Can't agree more. I think they should add a bit of motorcycle content to give it some refresh
O my goodness, this deserves so much more than just a like and a favorite!
Some hundreds of dollars for the bike.
3 Months of work to fix the bike up.
Dozens of hours composing and editing to make a masterpiece.
And it all comes down to 7 muscles to twist a throttle,
1 smile on Moog's face and it was shared by 10's of thousands of other people :)
It's absolutely incredible, put this is a short film festival and I'd vote for it any day!
Beautiful stuff Moog and Marty
That smile at the end gave me shivers of joy.
That smile....that smile tells you everything you need to know about why people ride bikes
Holy fuck you went to the effort to change into a saucy red dress just to make that silly little scene at 5:21? COMMITMENT TO THE BANTER. 11/10 Moogerocity
Arthur J Gibson wtf i just noticed! why he did that
It looked like a wife beater / vest to me
Not digging the black tank, maybe a tan or grey colour with black badges but very nice build either way, as long as moog likes his bike the way it looks doesn’t matter. Ride safe man
It's just a tank. If he gets bored of black, then he can repaint it easily.
Kyle TheTreeKat i thaught the orange was alright adds a bit of contrast and makes it pop
I was a fan of the orange also.
The best mcm video in recent months.
Simply one man, one machine, one basic build.
Wow this brought back some memories for me from when I was just 17 and had a suzuki gn125. 😀
holy crap... AMAZING
Riding a motorcycle that you have worked on gives you emotions that are hard to describe. It's a feeling that you can only get when you put hours of effort, work, and love into your own bike. It's almost like there's a special bond between you and the machine, and it is the best feeling in the world.
You mean that all consuming worry that you didn't tighten the front axle lock nuts for the first couple of minutes?
then a 15 year old on a permit texting in a 2018 leased suv runs you and your bike over
I have now watched it 5 times, PLEASE consider doing some Motorcycle videos. I love all of your currents projects but this is something special and unique
The smile tells the story! well done sir!.
this made me want to go outside and give my bike a hug...
SkiTard93 What? Give your bike a tug?
.
I just huged mine!
Mind fucking blown by the beauty of this comment
you all do that too? :)😂
Glad I'm not the only one haha
Yes! More bikes!
Picked up my first bike, a late 90's CB600F, a year ago and I've been in love ever since! Bring on Mighty Bike Mods!
This is one of the best videos Marty and Moog has ever put out, I am kinda surprised that this is not in the main channel.
That's no problem, it is kinda lika a secret treat to MCM's true or long-time fans.
More bike content please!
I haven't watched this yet but I'm sure that this will be awesome.
Edit: I just finished it, and wow, that was literally like 20x better than i expected. 10/10
So you expected it to be like 0,5/10? Haha jk
are guys are so incredibly blessed with your friendship and shared passions.
This still nearly brings years to my eyes after all these years. Just absolutely beautifully put together.
Keep up the good content
Aww I thought the orange color was sweet as
I LOVED THIS VIDEO
Just wrenched on a mates GN125H replacing the carb & have found myself looking at the 250 as a potential future project bike. This has inspired me massively thanks.
Wish you guys did more bike on the channel. The triumph you guys built a few years ago was awesome as well.
Well doneBoy....and that smile at the end.....this is the real spirit...you got it man...
Seriously loved it!!! Do more with motorcycles!!!!
Nathan Barrett haha wtf almost the same name
Why isn't this on the main channel?
This was great!
Maybe they should launch mighty bike mods.
Absolutely GORGEOUS
I can't believe I didn't see this until now. Great looking build. I wish MCM would do more moto builds.
Holy shit Moog, great camera-work and editing!!
Finally a bike video!!!!
Been following you guys for awhile now, not forever, but for awhile, and the only reason I know about this video is because of your 250 tips in one video that you JUST released. SO glad I watched and so glad you referenced this because otherwise I may never have seen it. I'm just starting a custom bike project myself and this definitely gave me a HUGE motivation boost. Thanks for all you guys do and keep pumping out that Aussie Goodness.
MightyBikeMods!!! Loved this piece Moog pure art in video music and bike.
More motorbike stuff!!!!
That was wonderful and relaxing to watch. Wouldn't mind more videos in this style!
This is beautiful. This is why I got into motorcycles.
Multi Talented- 👍 Motorcycles - Music - or 4 Wheel Mods- Great Tunes & & Neat Little Moto-Sickle👍
'Nothing Brings a Smile Like a Motorcycle'
- Cheers👍😎🍺🍻
Always liked MCM as a car guy. As a Bike guy, i actually love you right now. Keep it up, ride safe!
MCM: this video reminded me of why I started working on motorbikes and cars in the first place. Can't wait to start wrenching this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration ✌️
That was honestly beautiful to watch
beautiful makeover, just showes you that in every bike there is potential
Great film, great choice of bike! My buddy made a FANTASTIC-looking cafe racer out if a GN400

Got me right in the feels when Marty appeared giving a helping hand
If Moog had made his bike the way you want it, it just simply wouldnt be him. Dude is an artist and we must let him do it his own and unique way. This video is just beautiful.
if moog did it the exact way he wanted, would it be wrapped in aluminium foil?
I have no words, is a dream.
6:14 what it's all about. That smile! Thanks for making this!
THAT WAS AMAZING! Moog you really let your skills and talent show on this one. I’ll be watching this on repeat!
Impressive. No Words to show my feeling, when i see the way you change...
As a bike rider I absolutely loved this. More motorbike content please! Stunning music and cinematography
that was beautiful! Speaking of beautiful... are you wearing a slinky red dress at timestamp 5:21?
Something other than EDM, how refreshing.
You guys have to make more of these type of quick videos, like maybe putting after market headlight or lowing springs on a car.... this was Beautyful!!!!
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT, ALL MY LIFE....
All I have to say is, thank you. Thank you so much for inspiring me.
Moog how do you make these videos so beautiful man? Everything about your videos just puts me in the mood that you want me to be in. That one video where you and Marty drove off through the woods and the camera elevated up and panned away honestly made me choke up, this one makes me feel like I'm watching my dad tinker on his bike back in the day, and you never even say a word. I hope you never grow too old to love what you do, the music is beyond me, I listen to as much of your music as I can find and I love it all. Much love from Arizona ✌🏻 you're inspiring me to be better with every video
I'm so freaking glad you finally did a motorcycle video as a rider and as a motovlogger I give praise for this thank you Moog and Marty for your hard work and dedication !
BLAAAACCCKKKKKKK
Nice peaceful chilled video to watch in the evening. Liking the song too!
Great vid!!! But i was shocked when he started sanding the tank but just thought maybe there are micro scratches the camera cant pickup, almost died inside tho when i seen that it was getting painted black 😣🙁😔
Agreed.. he destroyed that beautiful bike that needed nothing more than a slight restore
oh my god fuck off.
I agree with you guys but think you've overstated it. Not you, Tunsafun[BSTRD]. You appear to be given to overstatement when simple disagreement would cover it . But I have to say I agree. Tell us it was plasti-dip Moog and it will be orange again in the morning. Maybe I just live in a part of the world where the blacked-out look is played out.
that smile is priceless...i know the feelin... good job on the diy
Nice video and easy music , really enjoyed seeing good hand skills displayed in this format. Self explanatory steps, without need for commentary. Skills speak for themselves, in every language.👍
